    Default London - Browns, The White Horse, Ye Olde Axe, and The Rainbow Sports Bar

    The 4 Strip Venues in London, Hackney; Browns, The White Horse, Ye Olde Axe, and The Rainbow Sports Bar are currently under threat as Hackney Council have proposed a Nil Policy of Sex Encounter Venues. This policy could well go through if no one appeals. This could mean over 300 people lose their jobs.

    We can appeal the proposed Nil Policy, by writing in to the Licensing Team [email protected] and filing in the survey (links are below).

    Hackney Council are consulting until 13 December 2010 to the public to ask if these venues are appropriate.

    Hackney are keen to hear from local businesses and residents - this can include anyone who works there - so please any dancers, security, dj's past or present may contribute and make a difference.

    Hackney Council Website;

    The online survey;

    Every reply and email counts towards saving these Strip Venues - so please take a minute to fill in the survey -

    Thank you,

    Larissa xx

    The pressure group behind this proposed ban is a feminist movement called Object, they are campaigning heavily as we speak!

    They have made toolkits for unions to shut down strip clubs, so it may affect further afield than Hackney;

    Object have a full time coordinator to work on getting rid of strip clubs, they have put together another link which deals with the legal side e.g. Human Rights, Gender Equality etc...

    Their views are really biased and are using the law to their advantage, essentially its bullying the pubs to close down.
