Travel Return to Oz aka how to get back to Australia?

I visited Australia four years (omg it's been that long ) ago with a Working Holiday Visa, returned home and now I'm aching to go back. I'm an EU citizen from a Scandinavian country, and after doing some research I'm pretty sure that we don't have any other options but to get a sponsor or to apply for a General Skilled Migration Visa.

Just wondering if anyone else is in the same situation or knows someone who is and has any advice about how to be able to move back... I have some university education but not a degree yet -would BA in Humanities subject even be worth anything..??

Yes I'd love to strip there too (paying taxes of course) but the main reason is that I love that place and its people and would just want to live a simple or "natural" life there, maybe working in conservation or set up a small business of my own... Sorry, it's late and today was utter shit so can't help dreaming of better times that I had in Oz.

Yeah your right... skilled visa or sponsorship are your only options. Skilled visa you would def not have enough points. You need to have completed formal education and worked within that field for a minimum number of years. Sponsorship is possible but really tricky. I know lots of recruitment firms sponsor overseas people if you have any recruitment experience, but then you would have to only dance part time since youd be busy working. Defacto visas are relatively easy to get but you have to have lived with the person for a year so unless you know any aussie boys over there you can move in with now its a bit tricky. Even for my marriage I had to have lived with my partner for a year so we had to wait to apply because we only lived together for 6 months before we got married because we lived in different cities before that. Your best bet is to contact a migrant agent and see if they have any options, but your options really are limited

What about going on a Student Visa and studying something that's in their critical occupation list? This way you could stay in Australia for at least 3 years and then apply for a skilled visa. Yeah, it's expensive to study in Australia when you're an overseas student and it's a 3 year commitment, but when there's a will, there's a way. Good luck!

$42 k a year? I'm currently waiting for my response from Adelaide University where I applied for Bachelor of Commerce and my tuition fee would be $25 k a year. I also checked out Melbourne University, I would have to pay $32 k a year. It's different for different majors, but it can definetly be cheaper than $42 k.

I know it's still very expensive, but being a dancer and making a reasonable amount of money makes it easier to afford. It really comes down to how much a person is willing to do in order to enjoy living in this beautiful country. I really love Australia so I perfectly understand.

Plus there are always cheaper options, like to go to trade school or get a certificate or diploma in massage/beauty theraphy/ etc, which probably won't be useful when applying for permanent residency, but would still be an option to stay in Australia for a little bit more, learn a practical skill which is always handy and maybe to start a business?

Why not take a look over the Australian Immigration website: http://www.immi.gov.au/immigration/

There is sure to have been changes since you were last here. Helps to be planning with current information.

Thanks for your replies, I had forgotten the whole thread. I'll definitely think about the studying options... Right now I can't leave anyway, but maybe next year. But I'm available if one of you wants to open a strip club and needs partners!

Don't get me wrong, I seriously respect Australia's strict immigration laws as I've seen how not having them is making many European countries suffer. So if/when I come there it has to be by the book. But sometimes the pining gets heavy when looking at old photos and remembering the hot summer breeze, bottle of cold Lift and the weird sounding birds there...
