this is bad advice for the long term, but it's helped me avoid DOMS...work out again before the DOMS sets in. it'll postpone it. if you do it too much, you'll overtrain, which feels a lot worse than some soreness.

i've never known stretching to do anything for it either way. it'll loosen it up while you're stretching, but the tightness comes right back. cardio can help, since it gets the blood flowing. ideally, you shouldn't wait til you're sore to do it. have it included in your regular workout schedule.

there are supplements that help, but i can't remember offhand what they are. i wanna say bcaas are one of them. someone else will probably know.

This is something that's inevitable.
I'm used to having office type of jobs where I didn't have to move around much, a f'n blessing when you're in pain from DOMS.
Work is going to SUCK tomorrow. Is there anything else that will help minimize swelling and soreness, and does stretching help or make it worse?
Hot tub (or hot bath if no access to hot tub), massage, NSIDS, stretching, low intensity aerobics, and assessing if you are not in fact doing too much too soon in the new routine.
