You guys know I just got my nose done- I'm taking the whole month off work and am going to be super careful about not messing up my nose- so I'm not putting myself in any situations where I could get whacked accidentally, slip/fall, etc-- so no hiking, gym or walking in high traffic areas until at least the end of next week- the 15th will be 2 weeks post op and then the bones will be "soft set".
For about 3 weeks before I got my nose done I was totally on it- going to the gym 5x week, an hour of cardio each time I went plus weights/stretching- I lost 7 pounds before I went into surgery, and then another 3 the week after surgery from not being able to eat a lot ( i maybe got in 500 calories per day).
My appetite is back now but I still can't eat foods that are super hard/crunchy... and since I can't be as active as I want I was thinking I would just count calories to make up for the lack of exercise. I have been pretty active- just going on errands and being out and about- but i'm still really paranoid about specifically going to places I used to jog/walk at because of the amount of people there and the potential for a freak accident.
Before when I was doing all the cardio I was eating like 1600 calories a day and burning off 600.... my basal metabolic rate is 1400, so I was thinking I would just count calories and eat 1200 per day until I can exercise the way I want- because I don't want to gain weight from being inactive- I am stretching and keeping myself limber, I just am not allowed to raise my heart rate over 100 because it causes swelling.
any fitness/nutrition gurus have an opinion on just restricting cals/not exercising? I really don't care if I lose muscle, I already have too much anyway.
