ive been wondering the same thing

Not normally. I'd have to feel very close to the person & know that they wouldn't be offended because of religion, etc.
Otherwise it's normally better just to bring in a holiday treat that everyone can enjoy regardless of religion.
Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

No I don't.
But since we have a small club my boss get's all the girls that have been there for awhile coach purses for christmas! I love it, I thought it was so sweet!

^^^ This is another example. While I would say "Thank you" for a gift, I wouldn't be pleased about a coach purse for ethical & religious reasons. It would come off a bit offensive to me & be a sign that the person didn't know me well.

I think giving an "End of the Year" type of gift is perfect if you have been working in the same club for a long time. OR, if you are new to the club but want to stay on as long as possible. I think gift giving around the holidays establishes a sense of 'were all in this together' type of family vibe and I would like to see more do it.
This gift doesn't have to be anything special. However, I wouldn't give the same things to the housemom as you did the manager UNLESS it was something pretty big (like coach purses). If you have been working in this place a while, you should know their personalities. If you know that your housemom loves wine, give her YOUR fav bottle. It may not be her fav and she may not even like it, but she will know you put thought into it and remembered that she loved wine. THAT is truly what gift giving is supposed to be about! Letting the other person know that you were thinking about them and not just 'oh yeah, I BETTER get them something'.

I just give all the staff in the club a card with some lottery tickets inside. Dancers, I will usually just bring a big box of cookies or treats the shift right before Christmas. I've gotten one or two managers bottles of liquor before, too.
Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans

^^^perfect!

I've never given anything to anyone and never would, UNLESS that person had been kind to me all year and helped me make money. Otherwise, no. This is especially true if this was a person I was required to give. I don't know if I've been given Christmas gifts either by customers except more money, which is what I prefer.

It completely depends on the club - in my first club, I gave the house mom a bottle of wine and she was really appreciative! This year, I'm giving my DJ something - he acts kind of like a house mom, and he really deserves something. My club now has an annual christmas party, and we just all go out together.
I think it depends how it'll come off to them - if you have never really got along with her - it might come off as being ass-kissing. If you get on well, something small never goes amiss.
I love the idea of lottery tickets!!
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.
