    Default Answer and ask

Answer a question, ask a question.
(any type of question. Weird, random, serious...)
Just make sure to answer the previous question before you ask.
(more fun when it's more than a 'yes' or 'no' answer.)

    ---

Since I don't have anything to answer, I'll just ask a question

Do you believe in life after death?

I don't believe in it. If there is some sort of continuation,I doubt very much if it is anything like what it is generally presented as being--heaven, hell, the preservation of individuality to the extent of retaining the same appearance, personality, etc.

Is the notion of life after death mostly the result of the fear of death?

^^^ actually, the notion of life after death is a millenia old 'scam' that allows a certain group of privileged persons to collect money from the 'sale' of a 'service' that may have absolutely no real value.

What other groups of priveleged persons collect money from the 'sale' of a 'service' that may have absolutely no real value ?

I like to think there is life after death, but who knows. I will say though that I am completely annoyed with people who tell me because I am suffering now that my after life will be better. Wrong answer, I want a decent life now when I can enjoy it, not then.

Related to this, my biggest question is "why does bad things happen to good people while good things happen to bad people?'. I am reminded of a friend of my mother's who had a rotten life. Her kids were all bad (drug addicted, etc) and she ended up dying of cancer at an early age. My aunt who recently died was a good person who got cancer at 45. Then I see all these people who are rotten jerks who have great lives with money and families. I asked my priest this question and he said good things come to those who wait, but not sure I believe this.

This is a really good question, kind of a tough one for me.

I want to say my mom though.
Even though she has had problems (who doesn't though?), she still manages to be an amazing person.
Very open-minded, giving, generous, kind, caring and funny.
She may not have much, but she'll give you whatever she has.
Because of those qualities, she's who I look up to.
I want to be as kind of a person as she is.

I struggle with the issue of the world ending in 2012. Off hand, I don't believe so....but then I see things like The Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina and it makes me wonder.....

So, I guess my very odd question would be....What do you think hurts MORE? an Earache or a Toothache....?

Both are painful. The only difference is a toothache can often have poison in it.

So no one wants to tackle the question of why does good things happen to bad people while bad things happen to good people?

Ok, another question. Some people think we come from Adam and Eve, while others think we descend from apes. Doesn't anyone think maybe Adam and Eve were apes?

I have actually read the book called, "Why Bad Things Happen to Good People". In the book, they put a strong focus on the fact the bad things happen, because people have free will to make decisions for themselves, even if those decisions can be harmful to themselves and others.

I have no idea where we came from as human beings, but I do know that the older I get, the more questions I have regarding that...

I think that the general concensus about reasonable people of faith is that the story of Genesis is allegorical, and that humans evolved from a common ancestor that also belongs to apes.

My question....if you could live to be 500 years, would you want to?

If I was healthy and whole, fit enough to travel, yes. Confined to a bed as an observer, No. Give me euthanasia no matter how painful death would be.

If you could know your own Death, would you want to?

I guess if that was the new standard age of living.
Like, if all my loved ones could count on 500 years of life. I think it would be pretty cool to see what life would be like 500 years from now.

If I was able to live to 500, but no one else was, then no. I'd want to die peacefully at an old age. Like everyone else.

Yes, my question presumes that you would be in reasonably good health till 500 (let's say that your body would age is normally would, but til 500...in other words, your "old age" would last from 400-500, your middle age would like, 200-400, etc).

And also, no one else is like this. Everyone else is normal. You would outlast hundreds of years worth of friends and relatives, and your own children.

Then no, I wouldn't want to live like that. I would never want to outlast my kids.

    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

Books...I know I've had other amazing gifts, but can't remember them at the moment. Personal things probably, that might not mean that much to others.

Question: What is the last book you've read?
