    Default Your Style?

From what I gather not all clubs let you choose what music you dance to and are stuck with what the DJ's playing. I personally always find the the slower, sultry, sensual music a much bigger turn on. What is your "style" of music? Fast, slow, hip-hop, pop? ...just wonderin'

i always preferred more sensual/sexy music. i hated dancing to hip hop/rap/country/electronic.

i sometimes did dance to stuff like lords of acid, linkin park, evanescence, etc. but it depended on my mood and when i was in that mood, i made it work. never danced super fast though.

but, seemed like a rarity. the others girls seemed to love the "club" type music to dance to. Then again, they did a lot more 'typical' dancing on stage than I did. I tended to go slower and more sensual, not as sexual as the others, with a lot of eye contact. So, the club music just didnt do it for me.

Sadly, I was almost never allowed to play my music. they thought it was too slow. they only wanted club and hip hop being played. so, i still danced my way, made the best of it, and got a ton of tips just for being "graceful" lol.

That's my style as well, but Nicole84 is right, most clubs really limit that style. I've worked up a new format that I use at clubs:

1st song - Something old, jazzy, very flirtatious
    2nd song - Upbeat & fun
3rd song - Very slow & extremely sexual

i like slow stuff too. they say that slow songs kill energy in a club, and it's true if we're talking pearl jam or something. but if it's got a sexy rhythm and sexy lyrics, seems like those work fine. lots of guys love that stuff.

i'll gladly settle for "stripper rock". nickelback, buckcherry, hinder, etc. or older stuff ac/dc, def lep, whitesnake. but my own tastes also include r&b, industrial, goth, metal. a lot of stuff. i can even handle reggaeton or country if necessary. no rap though. unless i think i can crack jokes about how white i am for pity money.

Clubs in the UK don't tend to do 'dance music', it's not sexy. We play slower more sensual music, mostly r&b, slower tempo pop, softer rock/ metal.

But i've worked at dives where there' not even a dj, just a CD changrr with half a dozen compilation albums, which means i've danced to some interesting tunes, including the theme to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air...

I like metal, industrial, grunge, and GOOD rock music. I would never be caught dead dancing to Nickelback, or some stupid emo, or that other crappy mainstream "rock" that's totally bland and unoffensive so as to appeal to young kids AND their parents. I think the sexiest song I've ever danced to is probably "Physical" by Nine Inch Nails; coincidentally, that was the song that made me want to start dancing in the first place, when I was a teenager.

^ i used to dance to physical all the time. only i'm so bland onstage that i finally begged the dj to stop playing it for me, because it was too ironic. got replaced by get down, make love and sanctified. that dj played me a lot of pretty out-there music, though. i miss him.

but not all clubs or djs will play that. that's when you have to decide "am i a rap girl, a techno girl, a generic rock girl, or an 80s music girl?" and you might not have all of them as options either.
