The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.
That is odd, around here (major city in Canada) the clubs are super busy this time of year. We always figured it was 'cause people are already in "spending mode." After the holidays it gets super dead though (visa bill effect haha). Hopefully the opposite is true for you?

It is slow here too. I am thinking about going to Key west to dance. I doubt its slow there.
I'm also considering NYC.

Yea heading in the extremely broke direction. They actually have been closing some of my clubs early and that means I lost my shift. That happened more than once this past week. I dont even think 9-11 was that bad and that was a shitty time n the economy.

Things are slow over here in Atlanta. Last year was much much better

I hate the cold. Key west sounds so damn good right now.

I'm in Jersey, about 10 minutes away from NYC, and this holiday season has actually been more profitable for me than last year! But I've also been working my butt off. Hopefully you all will see some improvement after the holidays are over, when it gets really slow in this area![]()
Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans
I'm doing better than I did last year.
I did good around 9-11 too, come to think of it.

christmas is "the most wonderful time of the year" deal with it!

This is what I've been told too. A the girls were saying how great it's going to be and how spendy everyone is.... I've yet to see it here in Toronto. It's been dead slow, girls complainig left and right " OMG this is so not December".
I'm with you Athena. I'm ready for Christmas to be over. January here I come!

I dance in the same state as daniella_maria and my club's DEFINITELY been busier in the past couple weeks than it was in the Fall. November was incredibly dead. Like less than a dozen guys in & out the door all daytime (i know it's dayshift but goddam!). This week we had 50-70 guys in & out the door throughout any given day. Guys seem to either a) be taking a post-xmas-shopping titty-bar break, or b) in town visiting their relatives from now thru xmas & sneaking away to the SC before dinner

It's been really slow here...I guess either people are gone visiting their families or saving their money for christmas......

One thing that is fairly unique to the NYC - northern NJ - southern CT area is that a whole lot of strip club customer spending in these areas is based on the banking, investment, brokerage, and insurance industries. All of these industries have done VERY WELL this year ( thanks in no small part to US taxpayer money ) ... and are expected to pay a fat 'Christmas Bonus'. On top of this, the 'Bush Tax Cut Extension' was just passed, meaning that these upscale club customers ( many of whom earn $200k a year or more ) don't have to worry about a new 'assault' on their paychecks starting in January in the form of much higher income tax rates !
The 'good news' is that this should translate into high levels of customer spending at upscale NYC / NJ / CT clubs over the course of the next month or so, thus higher earnings for girls already working in these upscale clubs. The 'not so good' news is that upscale NYC clubs typically do NOT allow for the hiring of additional / out of town dancers during the holiday period ! This is the result of a tacit agreement between upscale NYC club management and upscale local area dancers that if the dancers stay and work these clubs during the 'slow' seasons of the year that they will be 'rewarded' for their loyalty when the usually extremely lucrative 'holiday' season arrives.
As to the level of activity at clubs in cities whose economies rely on more 'mainstream' industries, and/or clubs whose customer base consists of more 'regular guys', odds are that those 'mainstream' industries didn't do all that well in 2010 and thus won't be paying significant bonuses. Similarly, for 'regular guy' customers, the 'Bush Tax Cut Extension' law won't really have a significant effect on their <$100k a year paychecks ... but rising costs of food, gasoline, heating oil, property taxes, and credit card interest rates certainly will / already have ! Odds are that these 'regular guy' customers are already scrimping in order to buy a few Christmas presents for their families while still paying their (rising) regular bills ... explaining why fewer dollars are being spend in strip clubs by 'regular guy' customers this December !
The greater worry should probably be whether strip club economics will return to normal early next year, versus the possibility that these depressed strip club dancer earnings levels are becoming a 'new normal' for many clubs and many cities !

Get it girl!!!

Nice on your great night ! Holidays have been risky for me all year! I really try to avoid them. May work mon/tues but then not again till Dec 30 or so.

Christmas time is a stressful time for everyone! I wish it wasnt so but it is.
I remember going to 30 Rock and FAO Schwartz when I was little and all that and it was always so magical... then you grow up!
You have to find ways to be motivated when at work and all that! Allof us are different so there is no one answer!
This week was ok...what made it worse was customer appreciation day where customers can tip you whatever they want. Some girls danced 4 or 5 songs and guys would tip them like 5 bucks. For some it was awful....there were some who still made pretty good money though...I had one guy who bought 3 dances for his friend and 4 for himself and gave me $200. They were only floor dances, so $10 here. I guess that balances out the guys who will get dances and give a couple dollars...

It's been slower than usual at my club too. I'm hoping this week will bring in the Xmas parties.
That's just retarded and creepy. The club is supposed to be an escape, not provide the same atmosphere that his wife/kids are creating at home.....or be reminded that he doesn't have a family to listen to Xmas carols with. Stupid move on the club's part for sure.

Tourist areas are always slow during december. Guys arent going on business or vacation because most have kids and wives and the kids are off of school, so florida, new orleans places like this are not good until around the second week of january. I wont even bother going in here in fl.

+1 I've been saying that for awhile.
Athena, I totally understand you being irritated about the music. I have a list of songs that might help you if you can suggest songs to the DJ. I started a thread of http://forum.stripperweb.com/showthread.php?t=147066
Here's some other threads as well:

Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

Yep, it's been dead. I think a lot of it isn't Christmas as much as it's the fact that New Orleans has no idea how to handle cold weather. Locals hide under a blanket next to a warm oven or space heater, and tourists never seem to pack their warmest clothes. Thank God it's never really cold for more than a few weeks a year.
Yes, I know it has something to do with a lack of conventions being scheduled close to Christmas, and customers' shopping budgets, but my gut says it's the weather. Damn I fucking hate the cold!
