    Default Effective Training at Home

Per a prior vids using some of the same tools (TRX), I decided to do a new vid with more details on how to get an effective workout at home using simple tools, such as a TRX Trainer, SandBags, etc. For me, this type of workout is more a supplement to what I do in the gym, outside, etc, but it’s a perfectly good workout for many, depending on your goals, etc. People are always looking for new whiz bang fancy program or piece of equipment, etc when they can get a better workout using a simple program using these tools.

Funny you don't sound like your from Bwah-ston.

There are dozens of calisthenics that can be done too without equipment.

    Fuck the damned gyms.

The only reason I go to a gym now is that I need to use the heavy bag, and there is no way I can have one in this giant old house (I rent a beautiful loft apt right down in Oldtown Key West), it would shake the place too much and the neighbors would be pissed.

Other than that, what I do makes a gym unnecessary--handstand pushups, pullups, dips, the ab wheel (which costs 15$ and will last a lifetime), etc., etc. I gave up lifting years ago, I never did bulk up with my genetics, and I don't like that look at all anyway.

Using a TRX would bring your bodyweight only program to a new level. Very popular with MA/MMA. Coach of GSP uses them, Bas Rutten etc, etc. See:

Was designed by a SEAL so they could get a good workout when stuck in subs, etc. TRX is not "lifting" in the classic sense nor will anyone get bodybuider big from it. It's one of the very few gadgets I will use and recommend to people. Functional strength/performance, core strength, etc, etc in something that can be done anywhere and takes up no space. It's a no brainer.

Wow, I am sold! I can easily rig that up with the big beams across the ceiling in my loft.

Kinda reminds me of the resistance bands I made to hit the standing bag with. I took three of the kind they sell for aerobic shadow boxing and tied them all to one handle. Very effective for developing strength and speed. I had to stop though as using the handles and striking the standup bag were beating up my knuckles too much, no matter how well I wrapped them.

    Thanks for posting the links!

    Get you some.

I have mentioned the TRX here before, and the ladies have to date, ignored it...

Perhaps vid of pretty girl using it will help vs fugly me:

Now add to that some sand bags work from SandBag Fitness Systems and you can design a program that truly works all aspects of fitness using limited space, etc, note in this vid the use of the TRX with sandbag:

Thanks again for the tip on this excellent new fitness training method. I will definitely try it.

Or maybe I should just get a full sleeve tattoo (better yet two) and everyone will think I am a badass instead. It would certainly save time and effort.

I hate despise weight training and this looks like a nice substitute. Hmmm...
That type of training is well past anything you will get from P9X etc. TRX comes with a ton of supporting stuff in terms of programs, tips, etc.

I'm going to get the tear next to the eye....not.
So I have been taking some Krav Maga classes. We are doing gun disarm techniques. This young kid kept pointing the fake gun at my stomach. I said, "bad guys tend to point the gun right in your face in my experience." He says "are you a cop? I said "No, but I did grow up in Brooklyn in the 70s."

    Poor kid looked perplexed...

In my limited experience, bad guys like to point the gun in your face to intimidate.

Yes sandbags are amazing as well, we use them often for grappling drills. Hate them while I'm using them, but love them for their results!

My boyfriend swears up and down on his TRX compared to P90X. I swear, he's a TRX snot.

Also, I was reading an article about home work outs and you can use water gallon jugs as weights, either filled with water, or sand. Which is good for those of us who only need 8-13 pound weights.

Considering all that one can do in such a small space, etc, it has no equal. I wouldn't personally give up my weights for it, but I like having muscle and being strong beyond what a TRX type workout can give. Info on TRX.

Weight is weight, so gallons of water can work. For the cost, and all you can do with it, investment in one small sandbag (via Sandbag Fitness Systems) is worth the minimal investment.
