Mind Blowing Gift for the BF on a budget

My boyfriend and I agreed to spend only $100 on each others' gifts this year. We both have a tendency to go overboard... lots of electronics, ipads, computers, expensive watches, gucci stuff.

Since this year has been less than kind to my bank account we decided to stick to that very limited budget.

However, I have no idea what to get him. He doesn't seem to need/want anything... to be honest I couldn't even tell him what to get me... he really wants us to exchange something that can be giftwrapped and goes in a box. A tangible ITEM of some sort. Not a gift card/certificate/etc.

    What's a girl to do?

Can you get him tickets to something he would enjoy in your area? Hockey game, other sports game, concert, a show, etc.? Or if he's a big sports guy, maybe some sort of apparel for his team (jerseys can get pricy, but you could maybe find a sweater or scarf or something for cheaper).

^^^ I'm huge on that sort of thing. Anything that is an "experience" often beats out boxed gifts in my book because they create memories.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

I'm all about the "experience" gifts.

Some memory-making ideas that have worked well for us: going to a bed and breakfast together (go 50/50 and depending where you live $200 should cover it), volunteering together, event tickets, a cooking/art/dance/love-making class together, make him dinner/get dolled up/wear his favourite lingerie and give something small to go with it like a pair of cufflinks (why don't more guys wear these, I love them), a hot-air balloon/helicopter ride, horseback riding lesson...

Infinite options so long as you can a) wrap the receipt or make a little card so you have something physical to give him and b) its something you've always wanted to do together but can't justify the splurge. If he's into charitable donations you can always donate in his name to a cause he cares about. I do this at Christmas for my admins along with a jar of homemade cookies

One year I got pretty little jar with a note numbered 1 and a reason why he loves me. Every morning I got another little note to add to my jar, 365 days straight. Would your boyfriend appreciate little romantic things like that?

If you need a physical gift what about a cashmere scarf, leather gloves or a DVD of his favourite childhood movie?

Addendum: the most useful gift I've ever received was a 1-hour introductory session with a financial planner.

Tickets, gift cards, free classes, illustrations, charts, vouchers, coupons and things of that nature aren't gonna work in this case.

Maybe I should have specified that the gift needs to be three dimensional.

Whoops, that means most of my suggestions weren't appropriate. Something from his childhood he wasn't allowed to have? I wasn't allowed to watch the Power Rangers and I got a collection of their DVDs a few years ago Actually, DVDs of a TV show he enjoys or a box set of movies he really loves?

A box containing a bottle of wine, two wine glasses, a scented candle, a porn dvd, water based flavoured lube, and a we-vibe. Put the bow around your neck.

I just got a Roku and I love it!!!

But if you already have a wii or something to watch internet channels on your tv then you wouldn't need it.

I scoured craigslist and landed a really awesome nearly new Sony 600 ereader with book cover, reading light, and ac adapter for $100.

Check out craigslist and you might be able to pick up something quick and cheap like a crockpot to go with thecookbook, or a barely used name brand goodies.

How cool! I guarantee he'll remember it for quite some time, it's one of the few things a man really appreciates. Have a good Christmas hun....
