Thumbs down Urgent :: Expose . Frauds in Cam

Although this is new account , i have been lurker here on SW for over 6months. Today willl be the most important post ive have ever made. To warn the women of SW and those who google the names of those discussed in this post. everything i state is solely based on my experience and what info i was able to find by research.

I am a Adult Web Model like many other girls in the Other Work section. i have been working very hard with build my name in this industry. in Nov . 2010 i met Daddy's Kitty aka. Daddyskitty.com on twitter. She tried to befriend me with a little girly flirtation and so on .. then she proposed that i should have her "HUBBY" or the daddy of daddy's kitty design my site as he had done hers.

i told her to have him contact me to get further info. as i have been working on designing my own. to make this short but informative . Detlev Joshua Kemp , partner of Curvebit.com, detlevkemp.com, and Daddy's Kitty Herself decided to try to prevent me from starting my site by

"BUYING MY NAME . SEVERAL FORMS OF IT . EX. CYMONE.COM/NET/JHEARTCYMONE.COM .. ETC. WITH OUT MY CONSENT OR KNOWLEDGE"

Josh as he likes to go by calls him self a webdesigner and proposed that he would design and manage my site for 50/50
and only thing i had to do was make content, do shows, and promo my site.

as i am not naive i told them to give me few days to research. off the rip "daddy'skitty" was repeatedly DM on twitter. asking me why i needed 2 research, telling me its a ONE time offer RED FLAG

i finally im Joshua via Yahoo and ask for further info. i essentially told him that it appeared i would be working for another "CAM SITE" i just happened to be featured model. i proposed option for him to simply design the site and i would pay.

    He declined
and from what i believe Josh and Kitty began to call me names and even go as far to say tht i would never make it in this business. i kept my cool and told thm thanks for the info but im glad you exposed yourself early.

from then on .. JOSH has been buying my name in several ways to keep me from getting my own site. he has since contacted me. and when i asked y they would do such a thing .. he responded ' oh u seemed so excited" . i clarified excited about the idea of my own site is not saying YES to a contract . .

Essentially : they go around buying girls DOMAIN NAMES as a way to make you there pawn or puppet. see they think that now tht they have my name my only choice is to work for them so i dont lose the work i have done or change my name .

detlev joshua kemp has no example sites except for Daddy's Kitty. if you google his name or curvebit all he has is a bank full of domain names.

he as well as Daddy's Kitty have tried this scam as i say fraudulent activity on many cam girls. ex. lil mitsuko .. you can read his email to her about it here
    http://forum.stripperweb.com/archive.../t-139003.html

I have posted this info not to only expose Daddy's Kitty and Detlev Kemp but to warn you guys that just like any business ppl will try to befriend you and use you all the will trying to maintain the image tht they are beneficial as a friend or career wise ...

    be careful .. take care

Cymone- Sorry this happened to you , but I am sure however many domain names he has purchased containing your name - you will be able to purchase one he hasn't ..... with 'livecam' 'model' livemodel' 'camshows' ..... or some other related word with it - He won't have the monopoly on every last one ......... www.kittysdaddyisacunt.com ( joke )

He will get bored with renewing your domain names - and I'm sure next year you will be able to snap one of them back up . Greedy men invading our industry make me sad , so while you have not been scammed by this idiot , ( nothing to prevent anyone snapping up domain names ) .....An idiot still he is for treating you in this manner . I hope you have since got your website up and running , or are at least planning to . It would be nice for him to see how much you don't need him , and realize that his advice regarding you not making it in this industry has not put you off, but rather motivated you to go it alone -

Good luck and Merry xmas .

thanks guys .. despite the "Scammers" Daddy's Kity and Detlev Kemp effort. i am well on the path to getting my own site and releasing early feb if not january 2011

for it me it was a lesson learned early
i see a lot of dirty stuff going on from cam girl to cam girl , to sites and owners . .
    but i never expected this

someone would spend over $200 in domain names in which he will never gain profit from
to me is pretty darn dirty. but it goes to show u how vendictive ppl can be about trying to ruin u before you have the chance to get started!

fyi before discussing starting a site . BUY YOUR NAME . even if it sits for months.
at least you know its yours.

thanks for the kinds words you all . i'm wiping my hand clean of the situation.
i just wanted to warn other girls to prevent the situation i went through

    haha oh that guy...
i don't know.. i didn't have too much communication with him. I didn't get the vibe that he was trying to scam me or ef me over. He offered to open a site for me and I asked him what would be the benefits of him opening a site for me and me just doing it myself. He tried to give me a whole shpeel about him being able to do things that would be too difficult or a hassle for me to do. Almost like he thought I didnt know what I was talking about and was saying things like he can handle all the custodial work, storing the 2257 info, advertising, safe-guarding the site, etc etc... At the time I just figured the only benefit would be him eating the costs, but it'd be taken out of my pay later anyway. I didn't really like the way daddyskittys site looked. and yeah, she added me on twitter first before he contacted me. I don't know if he's a scam artist, or just a douche bag for trying to lock up all the names... I just didn't think he was good enough in web design, advertising, and getting traffic, so I opted to not go with him. Good move for me since i got offered to be a contract model with a more professional production company. The vibe I got from him was that he was just some kid who knew how to build web designs and is just starting to get his foot in the door, but all his skills definitely don't seem up to par with industry standards.

yes that exactly what he does try to make seem like he does all the hardwork with managing the site, dealing with the customers, and designing bc we wont have time or don't understand it . ..

i think its a scam if your intention is to "LOCK UP" girls names in effort to get them to work on your site or to prevent them from progressing .

that is my main problem with them .

as you stated Kitty found you on Twitter and mysterious you got an email from Joshua .. .

sounds like the perfect team. . she searches for the girls and josh feeds you the bait

This is very common and has been a constant source of the majority of complaints I receive from pornstars, solo girls and cam models.

Before you ever begin performing you should buy all the domains possible around your name -- including the .com, .net. org .biz and .info of each. Its going to cost you but its cheaper than a UDRP action. For women that are going to do camming full time and make it a career I would go as far as to suggest having their names trademarked. We have trademark numerous pornstars' names just based on this issue. It helps in getting domain names back.

You have two choices at this point. One you can institute a UDRP action against him or you can simply change your name and start over. This time buying up all your domain names first. As suggested you can hope he gives up and goes away but I can tell you that he can simply become an affiliate of whatever site your own, grab your content and promote you and take a referral fee. Therefore it might be in his best interests to keep your domain names and keep you from making that money yourself.

Good luck and let me know if I may be of assistance.

I just bought a domain name for my escort business from GoDaddy. I only bought the dot com, and it was $12.72 w/privatization (sp?) when all was said and done, as I googled coupon codes, found one, and received a percentage off. The very next day I looked and now that same domain shot up to $49.99! I will definitely go back and buy the .net, .info and whatever other dot I can find!

I also have a great screenname that I LOVE LOVE LOVE that I used to open my account on SM. I haven't even logged onto that account and worked since I opened it months ago, but I just may buy that domain too. Camming could be a thing for me in the future, and if I ever want to advertise myself, that name is the name I want to use.

Thank you so much for the warning, and to Michael from PornLaw for all of the great advice. I am so sorry people tried to screw you over like that. Mother fuckers cant do for themselves, have to screw around with innocent girls just trying to make it in the world....GRRRR!!!!

DF has a great idea for getting around that problem, actually! Remove the first 3 letters from your work name and buy that domain. . . .

    Here's DF:
Basically, say your name is "Jane Doe", this guy already bought "janedoe.com" -- what you want to do is buy "edoe.com", and set up a subdomain called "jan" -- your websites url would then be "jan.edoe.com". Not the most ideal situation, but google will recognize it just the same as "janedoe.com". Sites have been using this technique for some time to use subdomains and TLDs to spell out words (del.icio.us for example).

The term for buying domains knowing that someone else will want them, & then not using them but trying to profit from the sale of them, is called "squatting". Unfortunately, it is a VERY common practice. Do exactly as PornLaw suggested. If I were you, I'd sue just so this guy has to pay for his ill intent. However, if you don't want to bother then just get a knew name, but know the guy will continue to do this to other models.
