Thumbs down Paint-like smell in my house

Hi everyone! I have a question. Why does my living room smell like wet paint? I am worried that there is a gas leak or something like that. Who do I call about this? I have googled it and there are a lot of people asking the same question, but there are no answers. Help!
    Thanks!

Ummm....odd. First question - are you in an apartment block or a seperate house? It could easily be coming from someone else's apartment through shared vents and air-con systems....or lift shafts etc

But to be on the safe side, call 911 and get the Fire Service out. They have detectors to source strange smelly things like this.

Omg, it is xmas day and I have to call the fire department! I have a pretty good nose and it might be coming from the main vent.

This is an unattached house, built in '52. I live in the desert. We recently got some rain.

I have owned this house for several years, and have never smelled this.

Well, unless you have been painting....then it's an uninvited smell, and if it's a paint smell then it's likely to be inflammable - so I would personally get it checked out.

You're not on the site of an old Gas station or in an old mining area are you?

If it was me....I would call the Fire Department - Christmas or no. That's what they are there for after all.

Mold? That or your just not used to the humid smells of a desert taking advantage of a little rain.

spray some lysol and give it a pass.
