Default Something I Never Thought About With Camming

So I'm super new to camming and one thing I didn't think about before I jumped into it was the hustle aspect. On one hand, you know that the people who come in your room are already interested (even if they don't intend on going private, they at least find you attractive). On the other hand, I have difficulty because I can't see the customers and read their body language etc. to know how to best hustle them and get a private. I also feel kind of awkward speaking into the cam and having to read their typed responses. Obviously, I won't go cam-to-cam unless they pay, but I feel weird nonetheless. Is this something you guys have experienced? If so, how did you get over it? How do you work your hustle without being able to visually "read" your customer? I really like the idea of working from home and not having to worry about being at the club all the time, but I definitely think it's easier to hustle in the club. Thanks in advance!

There are probably other people on here with more experience, but here is my take.

There is definatly a hustle factor. You really never know who is coming in and out of your room, and that being said, you should try to greet everyone that comes in. It's kind of funny but some will come in and out a few times, lurk for a bit in free chat, not saying anything, then all of the sudden there is your 30 min pvt with them. So really in a lot of ways its better then a club because you can't prejudge as much.

Like the guys sitting at the stage tippin a dollar at a time and making all sorts of noise but never get a dance, you get the guys that try to monopolize the room, but really i don't think its a bad thing unless you have a ton of traffic, and it makes it harder to get the pvts. They contribute to the atmosphere just like the stage tippers. If they get out of hand though, then its time to regulate.....

I think you learn to read people in other ways with camming. Your new to this right?? So am I. What I have noticed is that just like asking for the dance, you have to ask for the pvt, and do it often and in differant ways. Just a differant version of the hustle....... Just like working in a club, find a way to distinguish yourself a bit. I think it can really go a long way.....

To be honest, I've found cam hustling much easier than club hustling. For one, I don't have to approach anyone and that was my biggest weakness in the club. And prescott's right that there is no room to prejudge. You can't see what race or age they are, you can't see how they're dressed or if they're acting stand-offish. Even someone with no credits or tokens can buy some in less than 5 minutes and be back to spend them on you.

I also think that asking for tips and pvts is much easier when I'm typing. When I'm typing, they can't hear my awkward pauses while I form my sales pitch, they can't hear the nervousness in my voice, etc. They can hear that line any way they want.

This is true with webcamming you have a lot less pressure to sell yourself, sometimes a smile goes along way and you end up getting that guy who spends a half hour with you or longer.

It's alot easier to build repeat clients, and of course the consistency of the income. with webcamming if you work everyday and your repeative, consistent and positive you will make money. there is no wonder or worry if I will make money there is only how much will I make today.

Yes, and there's also not having to deal with other girls saying you're "stealing" their customers. There's really no "her customer" on most camming sites unless the customer decides to be loyal. You can take money from whomever is in your room without apologizing to anybody.

I honestly don't know if I have any hustling skills and I've been doing this for almost 3 years. Everyone has their own unique way of hustling. For me, all I do is sit and caress myself but I keep talking and I look like I'm really having fun. I sometimes dance, show my ass and talk a little dirty in free chat but I stop quickly so people don't just jack off in free chat. One thing I never do is ask for privates constantly. I see girls that just say "hi" "horny?" "I'm ready for private, lets go". I don't do that only because it never crosses my mind to talk about private chat. Unless someone keeps demanding things in free, I'll say I can do that in private only. I try to play around with people and be funny. I like them knowing that underneath all this filth, I'm a genuine person with a good heart. I like to make people feel good about themselves and most importantly I just have fun. Yes, I'm a little bored but nobody can ever tell. ;-) I don't let money be my main priority until the end of the night when I check my earnings.

Thanks everyone for your input! I did really well the other day...pretty much back to back pvts. I'm getting used to camming. Never really had a problem with my hustle in SC...I kind of enjoyed having that kind of control. I might go back to working in the club a couple nights a week. Anyway, I had another question....I had several guys in my free chat the other day and one wanted financial domination. He said he wanted me to ruin his day and make him spend his family's savings. I have no problem doing that, and told him I'd be happy to in pvt., but then some of the others in the room left. I think it turned them off. How do you handle situations like that without turning the other customers off?

^ Maybe try handling requests like that in private messages? If the site you're on has those. That adds a little mystery too, if the other guys in your room see you typing away and they don't know what you're saying, and then suddenly you're off in private.
