Default Getting $ for sitting w/ custy at bar.....

In the the cub I work at (the only club I've ever worked at, for the past 5 mo) you dance on stage, and the stage is in the center of the bar with about 3ft around it so the customers are not right up to the stage but at the bar and behind the bar is seperating it.... sorry I'm trying to explain it best I can... Anyway, we dance 3 songs, get off stage and walk around behind the bar to collect our tips. Besides private CRs or LDs that's the only tips you get unless someone gives you something when you sit with them. Now my question is are you supposed to ask for tips while you sit with them? Do any of you do it? What's the best way to do it? I've only been working for about a little more than 5 months and I'm using the club I'm at as a place to sorta learn the ropes before heading out to one of the more popular clubs, I am located in NYC. If anyone has any tips or can help me out I'd really appreciate it!

First of all I would reccomend doing a search in the Hustle Hut forum as there are threads on this topic.

Secondly, yes I do ask men for tips when sitting with them if they will not be buying dances and they want me to sit with them for an extended length of time.

^ Ask them to do a dance and if they don't want to then ask if they would like to tip you to sit and visit ( saying you are enjoying it ect. ) .

Most experienced dancers who are top earners know that the key to getting tipped for your time is to keep moving. When a guy gets to the point that he really wants you to just sit & talk, he will ask you how he can keep your attention for awhile, which opens things up for you to say that you love talking to him - but time is money. If he's really interested, he will follow through on that.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

It does come across as rude or bitchy to a customer if you ask for them to pay you for your time (I think). I give a guy a max of 5 minutes and then ask for a dance. I am a quick hustler, I either get them to dance or I don't and I move on fast. If he wants me to sit and talk he needs and should know that I am working and time is money. Also if the club is slow I might give a guy extra chatting time after dances, if he was a gentleman. I did this a week ago and the guy tipped me $100 before he had to leave to return to work. I wasn't expecting him to, it was a nice surprise.

Also just to add that on my shift I just worked today, there was a man who wanted to talk. I asked him if he was interested in dances and his response was "I just got back from a dance and I want to relax and talk to you." In return I said, "OK well I will let you relax and come back in a few minutes." He then said, "Well I'd like you to stay and talk with me." At this point they need to tip, there were other customers. And he should know that is potential money. Luckily I got called on stage, so I was easy for me to walk away without being rude.

I hope this help you a little bit.

Thank you guys. It was also my opinion that to come straight out and ask for money is too aggresive for me. I appreciate your responses!!
