I respectfully disagree here. If there was a black girl site I'd be the first to sign up! It doesn't mean I'd solely work there (unless the money was just that damn good), but I'd love that kind of opportunity.
I do recognize that while black women can and do succeed in the adult entertainment industry, there is a HUGE bias that exists and it is NOT in our favor. To deny that is just denying the facts. We are not the norm. I get tired of being called a nigger, or them commenting on my "mmm black pussy", or even wanting a "hot black Mistress" to control them... even when they like me a lot, I'm still reminded that I'm "other", my body parts aren't "normal" because they are black. And no matter how much you earn, even as a top girl, if you're black, you and your body parts are "other" too.
I, too, have heard on MFC that it must be harder for a black girl. Idk because I've never been anything other than a black camgirl so I don't have any other experience to draw from. It's a challenge, for sure. I'm sure there are very few, if any, white girls who have to deal with being called a cracker, or are told "mmmmm beautiful white pussy"... "nice white tits with vanilla nipples bb"... yeah, right.
The reason I say I'd love to work on a black site is because I spent a number of years stripping at first at white clubs, then at black. So many times did customers straight get up and leave my stage at the white clubs, only to return when some fat, ugly white chick walked up there. So many times did I call and ask if they were hiring (in my "white" voice), but when I got there I couldn't get past the front door. At black clubs/places/and presumably websites, at least you know for once people are there BECAUSE of, not in spite of, what you look like.
If someone built it, I'd be the first member to sign up. (But never, ever at 35%)![]()

My dear I disagree. This industry is about looks. If you're hot you will make money. Even as an escort 99% of my clients are white. why is that? Men want what they can't have at home. I have also been told by men of other races that being with a black woman is not accepted in their social circle so when the oppurtunity comes a knocking 9/10 times they'll choose a black woman over a white woman. I have heard this many many times. I will give you a perfect example: I went to a call once while working for an agency. The guy took one look at me and said "I will never see a black girl I don't know why they sent you here .......but you're cute come on in". Proves my point that men like what they like. If they don't think you're hot they won't see you/Spend money on you it is just that simple. It is true that a lot of people think ALL black girls are ghetto and ugly. I have heard this many times. It's all about stereotypes. It doesn't bother me at all. They see me and I milk them for all their cash. Stereotypes make me a lot of money. They see that I am the total opposite and will pay lots of money to be with me because I am a "rare find".
I've been told once by a strip club manager that he did not like my skin color. Did that bother me? No. I understand that people just like what they like. I would go MAD if I blamed everything that happened to me on a regular basis on my skin color. I went to another all white club and was hired on the spot. I have worked in an all black club and prefer the white clubs. I love how I was treated there and also liked the fact that I wasn't made to make my booty clap... ugh! LOL!
People are different. We don't all look alike and our experience in this industry differ. I can honestly tell you that once business slows for me I never blame it on my skin color. For me that's just another excuse and excuses don't pay the bills.

Ok...I liked a LOT of your post...But this stuff made me SO sad...Especially the apparent self-esteem issues in the sentiment of not being the norm...
Have you ever looked at the pussies out there? Or the Asses, or boobs, or faces? What is the Norm? Why is white the norm? White is not NORMAL...it might be predominant, although if you add up all the asians, hispanics and blacks, I think whites might NOT be all that much of a majority...
Either way...I do think there is some "It's an excuse" to all this...because I've worked with many different girls across every race...and as far as I can tell "Creamy White Skin" is VERY much said to those girls...Pretty Pink Nipples, and Pretty pink pussy...Or comments on TANness, or on Hair color, or being shaved, or being hairy....your "Chocolate Tits" are part of you and some men will be turned on specifically by THAT, and there is nothing wrong with that beyond the normal visual objectification men do to all women, that makes our jobs POSSIBLE.
Usage of words like Nigger, Spic, Chink, Honky (I won't say CRACKER, because the I'm in Florida, and they LOVE being called Crackers....look it up on Wikipedia) to me is on the same level as "Fat Bitch" and such other cracks...you boot and ban....period. That is just meanness.

Well said Bambalina!
Honestly I have never been called a nigger... at least not to my face lol. When that day comes it wouldn't end well. I just think it's sad that black women feel like this about themselves. sad sad sad. This goes to show that we all have our own way of viewing this industry. I am not saying it's all peaches and cream.. I just don't look at this as a game of race but as a game of looks and SKILL!
The comment of us not being the "norm" was kinda off. Just left it alone. I'm not trying to get too deep into this stuff. If someone feels they're not the norm then that's their way of thinking. I know that being a HOT black girl has made me a lot of money and CONTINUES to make me a lot of money. I can't complain at all. We are all independent here. Our experiences will differ.

Is it harder for a black girl to make it than a white girl? I mean that is the crux of this question...and my answer is that it is WAY easier for a Black girl with GAME ti make it, than it is for a white girl with Bad personality and NO GAME...Maybe all things being EQUAL, it would be easier (marginally) for a white girl, but that isn't the real world....PERSONALITY and GAME and HUSTLE, and Internet Skillz and Mad Pole dancing Skillz and a buinch of other shit all enter into it and make race pretty unimportant.
B
PS. Still..I think my new project (I promise not to even THINK about it till the other two are done) is a cam site for Girls of Color...Hispanic, Asian, Black, Indian, Middle-Eastern, etc. I think it would clean up....

Very well said!
They can call me a "Nigger" all day but this Nigger is getting paid. Word don't pay my bills, Money does and in that department I am not lacking thanks to my skin color. If I wake up in tomorrow morning to find that business IS slow i will not blame my skin color I will question my marketing skills. I will question the way I treat my clients. I will question what I wear during my sessions but not once will I question my skin color. Black is beautiful.

I will be 100% honest here I have never felt this way. I have also never looked at myself and said "Oh it's because there are too many white girls online" or " Those white bitches.. they're taking all the money" It is all a state of mind. Most of my friends are white some of which I've done live girl-on-girl shows with and we always bank. I have also helped those white girls to make money, have welcomed them into my home because I do not see them as a threat at all. It is true that we have to work twice as hard to make it to the top. I know and I've been there but what do I do? Do I sulk and complain? NO WAY! I get my ass online marketing my ass off, sending out emails to my regulars and cooking up new ideas for my sessions . That time you are spending thinking so negative of your beautiful self you could be doing this and seeing a beautiful end result. Baby girl fact of the matter is there is enough money to go around. Do you know how many guys there are online while you are working? All you need is ONE whale to make your night out of 3 million PLUS webcam customers have you ever thought about that? So are you telling me that the majority of those men have a problem with black women? If so, That is false and sad that you feel that way.
Next time it gets slow or business is not going great blame yourself and noone else and ask youself .. what can I do differently? Always switch things up. Hint: Men get bored easily they love surprises..Stop using being black as an excuse. While you're making it your excuse for not making money .. others are using it as a crutch and making bank!
With that way of thinking I can tell you now that you're hindering yourself from making money. If you don't feel you're super hotttt it will show and men will know and take their money elsewhere![]()

Well that is your opinion islandgirlcoco and just like you're sick of people using "black as an excuse" I'm sick of those who like to bury their heads in the sand and act like racism doesn't exist when in fact it does. Web camming is a microcosm of the outside real world and if it happens out there then why would the internet be any different? Just because you were lucrative as a black cam model doesn't make it true for most. I observe multitude of various camsites and I compare the traffic in white, Asian, Latina, and black womens' rooms and more likely than not the black cam rooms appear very dead and rarely do I see any high activities or high traffic while other races of women have rooms that filled up. I rarely see Ebony women taken into privates. Latina and Asian women are tied but not as much either but the white ones get pulled into privates more frequently than any other because they make up most of the majority. Yes I realized it's been slow every where during the holiday season. However, when most sites were at their normal peaks the ones who had the slowest rooms were the black girls. So don't sit up there and front b/c I've seen it too many times to notice and I know what I'm talking. You just happened to be one of the few lucky exceptions but that alone doesn't discount the general rule. Your experience isn't everyone else's. What's true for you isn't true for everyone else.

Perhaps my major in college (sociology) has taught me something about "norms" that may not be naturally evident to people who have other areas of expertise. Me saying black is not the norm has absolutely nothing to do with self-esteem, it has everything to do with the principles and ideas that have been perpetuated in America for centuries. To keep it short, from my standpoint and others in my field, what's "normal" and has power is:
-white
-male
-heterosexual
-christian
Why have we had to fight for womens' rights? Because it's a patriarchal society and women do not have the upper hand. Why do we have to fight for gay rights? Because it is not seen as "normal" to be gay. Why do we have to fight for civil rights? Because for a long, long time, people who are not white have been seen as lesser, less desirable. Even still a white standard of beauty is more accepted. Look at the top black celebrities. Beyonce... has a weave, has photographs lightening her skin color. This has zero to do with self-esteem. Trust me on that.
And for the young lady who commented about being hot and top clients being white and getting hired, yeah I dig that. My experiences have been the same. I do really well with white people too, but I won't sit here and act like I've never seen the other, ugly side of the coin. If you haven't been exposed to it then good for you, but it does happen.
Using it as an excuse? No. If that's the case it's best to not even try at all. But ignoring it completely saying it doesn't exist? That's blindness. If it helps you to run your business and life ignoring actual historical and scientifically proven facts then so be it, but I don't live that way.
And one thing you said about being "forced to clap your ass in a black club". That's about as ignorant as anything I've ever heard. Have you ever even been to a black club or worked in one? That's just another stereotype and holds no merit. Glad you are comfortable with believing that.

Camming is just a job to most girls, and a career to the very little half. That is all for that.
Being a Black female in the sex industry does have it's setbacks, but eh, I don't feel them because those "setbacks" don't come to my chat. If they do, "ban" and "kick."

I have never met a black woman with low self-esteem. This is a first for me. I guess it's all about the company you keep. I know I sure as hell would not want to spend money on someone that didn't think they were worth it/felt their skin color was an issue. It is sad that most of you feel this way about yourself.
I want to know how my beautiful friend camwhore feels about this issue. Camwhore, where are you?![]()

Lol! I think we all get objectified kind of nastily- sure, it's nice not to be thought of as the sum of your parts, but we're selling sex here! Personally, I bet asian girls have it worse than ebony. Can you imagine how many times a day they hear that luv u long time schtick?!
I LOVE the thought of working a feature site, though. I'm black, mixed, and I love the thought of checking a "yellowbone" box and getting traffic that doesn't ask me 700 times my nationality, disbelieve my blackness, then offend me with a "you're to pretty to be black" comment.
I will agree that I consider being black to be a plus, though. Minority, exotic, bam! Thousands of young looking white girls, only 3 fat yellow bitches. Not much choice. Money in my pocket.

Amen to that.
I also get the "You're a pretty black girl" comment and I think should I be offeneded? but nope I think and see dollar signs, dollar signs, dollar signs!![]()

Look I don't need you defining what genetics are because I know what they mean. I wasn't born yesterday so you can take your intellectual acting superiority elsewhere. What I meant was that race shouldn't be trivialized as just mere "genetics" because not all members of an entire race share the same physical makeup. Race is much more than genetics; it's deeper than that. For example, It's different from rejecting someone who is red-headed because that is a genetic trait not necessarily a racial trait because any one can have that hair color naturally; even some minorities do as rare as that might be. Genetics are usually mentioned as physical characteristics apart from race alone in which anyone could possess that is based upon your own family traits. Racial traits although they are passed down; they are primarily ones in which is unique to a particular ethnic group and not just your family members.
So if a cam customer doesn't like a natural red-head (genetics) that's no biggie b/c it isn't a reflection of disliking her race. It just means he either prefers blondes, brunettes, or raven haired girls. On the other hand, if one doesn't like Asian women period (race) than it wouln't matter on an Asian model genetic traits like her (short) height (can be found on any race), black hair color (can be found on any race), brown eye color (can be found on any race) or so on. Whether she altered herself or remained natural wouldn't matter b/c still in his eyes she never would be good enough as far as attractability as an Asian woman. She can dye her hair blond, wear green contacts, widened her eyes. Guess what? She's still Asian. That is what I meant by genetic traits vs. racial traits. So as always you can play this semantic game if you like but I clarified myself so if you or anyone else still don't comprehend then that's on you.

Wow. I swear it's not that hard. Market yourself accordingly, use props if you need to, wear sexy lingerie, have lots of toys, have great cam and good lightning, smile, play games with your custies, I personally like hosting cooking and shower shows, repeat, send weekly mailings to regulars, market some more (facebook, twitter, myspace, start a blog) and after all that if you're not successful then this job is not for you. This plan will always work and it doesn't matter if you're blue, green or purple.
It's not use .. if you feel like shit others are going to think you're shit. If you feel hot and ontop of it look hot people will spend money on you. My words won't change the way you feel about yourself.
It has nothing to do with how I view myself. I like my ethnic attributes but let's not forgot we live in a very Eurocentric society that basically believes that anything that's white or damn near close to it is beautiful. I don't believe that just because I refuse to deny the fact or give a blind eye to it that it indicates that I have low self -esteem. Also you must take into account that not all black is created equal b/c if you resemble Beyonce, Rhianna, or Tyra Banks then you would be treated much more favorably in this society as opposed to someone who is darker complected and have more Afrocentric features; especially having coarser, kinky hair. But the hair is a whole 'nother topic.
Also, Islandgirlcoco if anyone is suffering from low self-esteem it would be you b/c you appear to be okay accepting insults and disrespect from white men as long as you are getting that almighty dollar. You seem ok to be referred as the "n" word, being told you're hot for a black woman ( as if it's shocking and possible that black women can be beautiful), and basically being a secret comapanion for white men as an escort who their sole purpose for having any dealings with you is because in their normal circle you're taboo. If that how you as a black woman like to be treated then be my guest. But I'll be damn if I allow myself and women of my race to be disrespected and not check those clients/ customers all for the sake of being a "rare" black woman or just gain $$$$$$$ and that goes for any black woman here as well.

Ridiculous. My dear there is ugly and beautiful in every race. People like to see beautiful people. Have you heard of genevieve nnaji, Naomi Campbell and oluchi onweagba? Obviously not. Those ladies are are beautiful with natural coarse hair, strong features and just happen to be a very successful models and actresses). I am not beyonce but I do know I'm hot and apparently others think so too. That's why they pay to date me/be around me/watch me live on cam. You don't have to be beyonce or any of those ladies to be hot! You don't have to be a celebrity to be considered hot. I know ladies that are darker than I am with strong facial features (like myself) that guys drool over and would totally ignore me if I were standing right next to them. If others don't find you attractive then that's your own issue as an individual. Like I said this ain't a union. We are not conjoined twins. We have our own way of looking at things.
Just FYI I have seen some ugly white people. It's terrible that you feel that way/think people feel that way about dark women. eeeek. There are beautiful black women and there are not-so-beautiful black women . that's just the way it is.

Rainwater, Call me what you want. I didn't disrespect you in anyway so show me the same respect that I have shown you. I made myself very clear when I said I have never been called the "N" word to my face. I sure as hell don't live my life thinking that white people are calling me the "N" word to my back. If they are... who gives a fuck?!
My dear this is the business we are in. Again It is based on looks, body type.. etc. I am NOT going to get offended because someone says "I'm a pretty black girl". I am not saying that I have never been rejected for being black.. I have but eventually I got hired at an all white club and made bank! You're the one that lacks self-esteem and it shows. I am glad Bambalina pointed it out first because that is exactly what I was thinking. If you really want to be white then go and bleach your skin like Michael Jackson and stop complaining about it! Sorry I can't join the "I hate myself" club.![]()
No point in arguing with someone that hates themself so I'm outie.
P.s I am black but not african american. I was born in another country. Maybe that's why we don't share the same views.
Last edited by islandgirlcoco; 12-31-2010 at 06:27 PM.

I don't feel that way and if you had actually taken the time to read everything I said I gave no indication that I feel that dark skin is not beautiful. However, you cannot dispute that in western societies light skin or fair skin is considered the standard of beauty. So whether you choose to deny it is your problem but that doesn't take away from the realities. Just because you get paid by white men to be treated as subpar by them doesn't mean they truly respect you or see you as on their level. The only difference is that them showing you sexual attention in exchange for money justifies to them to further disrespect you as a black woman and you allow it for the almighty dollar. But as for me I won't allow it.

Ma'am I said a few of my clients have admitted that to me .. most definitely not all. You're not in my shoes and you know nothing about how I run my business. You just sound angry and extremely bitter. It's sad. You do have issues with your own race...
bye now. Gotta eat!

You're acting as if that is a badge of honor or like most aren't capable of being attractive and well spoken and that you're somehow manage to become superior; forget about being American. There's ugly and not so well spoken women of all ethnicities and how you look is based upon genes and you act is based upon environment. You acting so pompous only actually contributes to stereotypes.
