Default What is the outcome we're all looking for? The END result?

This post will probably annoy anyone who doesn't like rambling, philosophy and metaphor and such...you've been warned.

Throughout the history of (wo)mankind, humans have done everything in their powers to lessen and hopefully stop forced labors of any kind...this includes The work we all commonly must do to live, like washing clothes, cooking, dishes, etc. And EMPLOYMENT. All the way till the 1930s and the depression, humankind sought to get as much leisure time and creative free time as possible. This all ended in the depression, when "employment" became this desirable state that one was terrified if they lacked. In other words, we were convinced to fear leisure and an un-employed state, from our nature inclination towards "laziness".

The point of all this, is that I believe the same sort of magic was worked on our heads as women involved in the Adult Industry. This is evident from those vehemently defending sites that rip them off and take 2/3rds of their money, or the constant pinball bouncing from one site to another.

In the end, there must be a total revamping of the entire business if we want to see different results.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

So, as long as those who have VERY little actual creative input into our business, are COMPLETELY in control of the reigns of money, presentation, worker relations, and customer relations, we will keep getting the same results. Low Pay, poor treatment, poor promotion, and customers who are angry or broke or expect us to perform for them for free or VERY cheaply...

On top of all of this, most of the entertainment and creativity gets removed and the job becomes "banging our pussies with dildos" as we are ushered like cattle down a chute toward what pays best for cam sites.

People who know me might think I adore MFC...however MFC has some pretty grievous sins of their own...I just like that they pay MUCH more fairly than most big sites, and their open camming nature is good for really developing a style...

The main problem with MFC is their lack of attention to their own rules. This creates a situation in which "she who shows most, succeeds best" and although this might even seem like a viable competitive playing field...it isn't...because the camscore jimmys the whole machine, and basically, because MFC has gone the road of "What Serves MFCs Owners Best" albeit to a lesser degree than some...but it is good for MFC to ignore their rules and leave the women scrabbling over each other with dildo shows and fuck machines and almost nothing left for Private Shows.

I have gone ad nauseum into the horrible lacking and (what I perceive as) evils of the Big Camsites like Stream...

AdultWork is VERY nice, and for now is the closest we have to something truly useful, and the indy sites follow closely, although those who know me know why their lack of traffic or investment in it is a HUGE problem to me.

Greed, is one of the MAIN problems we run into....

So, in part two of this thread I will discuss ways around this, and why this so closely follows the "employment" question up there....

So, the OUTCOME...Almost all of you have goals...Right? Even if they are for the night to make $X00 or to get 3 privates or whatever....

Some of you have goals of a boat or a trip to tan yer ass...or a house...

But overall, the one goal I don't see on here, which IS possible...far more than with "No Money Down Real Estate" and shit like that...is Financial Independence....Real True FI....

THAT, and nothing less, should be your goal.

Let me ask, I am whipping up frenzy (at least in my fevered imagination) toward the owners of the cam sites in more than one thread...I am bashing the iFriends hole that never closes, I talk about unions and co-ops and all that....but let me ask you...What do you think the top owner of Stream is DOING today? Do you think that person even has to work on a daily basis? Or take Jenna Jameson...her site does over 250k a day in traffic and stuff...does she ever REALLY need to "work" again?

So that is the thought for this post...Financially Independent. Say it once...think about what it means for you. Think about what would be Necessary to be able to say that....Then I come back and post more about why you might not be thinking about it in the most useful way. Because every person needs to find an important thing before they can even start on the road to true FI...

See, generally...If you say to someone, "How much money do you want? (the answer can be ANY number...feel free)" they say "a million dollars" or "a billion dollars" or "infinite dollars" or whatever...but then if you amend that to "How much are you willing to work for if you consider time is money?" they look at you confused, and they don't have a real answer...Because, in reality...both questions are meaningless to our lives...since those with a billion dollars didn't work 10 hours more a week to get it, and unless you inherit, or have incredible luck in the lotto, no one will ever GIVE it to you...So what is the answer?

    Ask the right question....

How much is enough for you and your family to survive, entertain yourselves in a meaningful fashion, have a little bit of luxury, and a little on the side for a rainy day?

In other words, How much is JUST enough, and then some?...but just a little..

Reason being, those who strive endlessly with no clear goal that CAN be reached for Financial Independence, are more unhappy (yes, psyches have tested this and polled it) than those who have a clear and reachable goal...

    So...how much is ENOUGH?

I asked myself this question when I went into stripping. I wanted to be morgage-free on a decent sized house, and have a silver Mercedes to drive around in, paid for in cash. After 10 years in the stripclub, I achived both goals.
The Merc was 2nd hand, and the house has a lot of DIY to do, but Goal Met.
Seriously, if you know what you want, and can possibly, physically and mentally work for it, YOU CAN DO IT.
G`won answer this thread. Type out what you want. Then work towards it.

TroubleGum, I agree. I'm going to become a webcam girl after years of working for others and having them tell me what to do and how to look. My goal is have a great savings account, new boobs, and an RV for my husband and I to travel around in for at least two years. I will just say that Jenna Jameson sold ClubJenna for millions of dollars. So, no she never has to work again in her life.
    I love boobs.

Now let's think about this outside the box. There is only one real worthwhile kind of money...Ask any Lotto winner from the 1990s who is now broke.

They will all tell you that a HUGE lump sum, doesn't guarantee anything....

And any normal "Job" is obviously NOT independent.

    So...

Only two real ways to be financially independent.

The first, is to truly love the work you do. And what I mean by that is that you would do that activity (that qualifies as work) ANYWAY, even if there was NO money in it. Otherwise, you are a wage slave...You can be a wage slave for a LOT, or a wage slave for a little, but either way, it is NOT financial independence.

Second way is to minimize the moments of "work" in your life and maximize the payout. The only way to do that and be financially independent, is with income derived at a delay from the work done. What is called Passive or "Residual Income".

Paul McCartney and John Lennon wrote Hey Jude, and even though John Lennon is dead, his family still makes about $2Million per year from the song. Dead. THAT is passive income. To join an affiliate program and post links all over and get people on the site and then be paid month after month...Residual or Passive Income....

Anything that you do little work, and get paid when you are NOT working later...is a form of Passive or Residual Income....Like those pics and vids on AdultWork or Clips or NF....Go lay on the beach and tan yer butt and make $500 for doing it, and you are starting to do Financial Independence right.

    wow.. you are so right..

i just realized something too- something much better than this..

    our time = our money
how we choose to use our time working= can amount to anything you want it to be!

    we are damn lucky,
    and should realize that-
not many people have the opportunity to make so much in just a minute..
    really!!!!

let's go make that cash ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!<3

    NO EXCUSES!!

Money = Your life energy = your limited time on Earth.

So how much is "one hour" of you life, which you will never get back and never re-live....How much is that worth in MONEY?

Think about this, many many many people work 8 hours a day, 5 days per week. 40 hours per week times 50 (we give the poor shlep a 2 week vacation, sheesh) this is 2000 hours per year. Now if we add in, the time to get ready to work, drive to work, shop for clothes for work, get in comfy clothes when they get home from from work, etc. We're talking 2200 minimum (and many work MUCH more than this) for say $35k per year, which 25%+ gets taken for taxes and SS and stuff....which leaves about $27k, or $12.27 per hour. Quite often, it is much much worse. If one works in an office or higher end retail establishment, one has to spend a good amount on clothing, shoes and other stuff for their work, and the transportation costs and parking and so on can sometimes be over $10 per day. This can easily turn your $40k per year job, into $10 an hour.

So, webcam is not such a bad deal. But maximizing that rate at which one sells the MOST precious thing one has...is phenomenally important.

Greatest thing I've ever seen to get you there...

    A book...

Your Money or Your Life by Joe Dominguez and Vicki Robin (these two wrote this and then sold book and took no profits, just so people knew they were serious...it's not like ANY other money book, ever)

    Truly Amazing

thanks so much bambalina.....My thoughts exactly. so tired of people who constantly tell me to get a "real" job, as I look at their lives and say.....so I can b like your sorry miserable ass, no thanks I may not be a college grad but I sure as hell know how to do simple math, and 10 bucks an hour is exactly what you say... "slavery" too bad people don't just all walk out of their low paying miserable jobs until they are actually paid enough to LIVE......if everyone did this there would b no dummy left 2 hire 4 shit wages.....trust me I have been on both sides of the fence I am crashing and burning so far as a cam girl......but 30 bucks for a few hours beats that for a whole day.....plus gas and everything else you mentioned, someone please explain this to my ex!
if you hate me for being beautiful, you will love me for being dumb.......no one is perfect
