    Thumbs up Gaining weight

    I want to gain weight! Right now I'm pretty average. I've heard a lot o people say I look like a fitness model which is kind of gross to me. I have kind of broad shoulders and I hate it! I'm a 34B and have a small waist and wear a size 7 in juniors jeans. I'm only 5"3. Which I love my height because I can wear heels and not feel like a complete giant. Only thing is I can barely shake my ass. I can make it clap a little and I can shimmy lol. Anyway my question is, is there a way to gain weight in my hips and thighs while keeping my upper body the same?

    Bread! It seems that the first thing in most people when they gain weight to ge wider is the hips and the last thing to go when loosing weight are the hips. Seriously tho from the sound of it you have a great body type! I think you just need to practice shaking that ass. Look at this video and enjoy.

    You can't spot reduce or spot gain fat, but you can spot gain muscle via exercises that work specific areas. Squats, for instance, will give you a rounder rear end. Lunges will develop thighs. See a trainer to get a plan that will sculpt your body the way you want it.

    That said, your description makes it sound like you don't need to gain weight. Your weight sounds pretty normal to me.

    You cannot gain or lose fat in a specific spot - like flickad says, all you can do is muscle train. It might be a good idea to build up your butt and thighs with weight training - this will also make sure that you are building a nice, toned shape, and not just adding fat!

    Other than that - gaining weight in general comes from one thing and one thing only - eating more calories than you expend. Almost every diet, no matter what they are touting, has a basis in this simple equation. Make sure that you are still eating a nice range of food, and a decent balance of carbs, protein and fat, and just up your calories to make sure that you are taking in an excess.
