    Dizzy False Lash Issues

So this is going to seem a little ridiculous, but I need some help with my lashes!

I absolutely love them, and I have no issues putting them on or taking them off, but I can't seem to figure out how to re-use the damn things, and I'm not willing to spend $10 every night I work...seriously, $40-50 a WEEK on eyelashes??? I have naturally long lashes, so its not a big deal not to wear them, but I really wish I could.

My problem is that after I've used a pair once, if I try to put them on again, they just come off really easily..after an hour or two, I've got the edges curling up off my eyelid, which looks stupid! I tried washing them in warm water to take the glue off, but then the actual lash bits clumped together and looked ridiculous...sigh.

At the moment, I'm using a cuticle stick to put a thin layer of glue on, then applying them, then using warm water on a q tip to loosen them and peel them off..

Any advice? What am I doing wrong?

Forget the fake lashes, and buy some Maybelline Great Lash mascara; the best one is the "blackest black" with the big brush.

I wish I could remember the brand I use. I get them at Target and I buy the starter kit for $6. When I worked at my peepshow I wore them 3 days a week, for 2 months until I needed a new pair. The name starts with an "A"... Maybe you just need another brand of lashes?

Oh and never get them wet, it ruins them. I would just peel mine off and pick the glue off with my fingers.

    Good luck!

Thats strange..Im no where near as carefull with my lashes and i re-use them alot I stick them on then rip them off at the end of the night, pick some of the glue off and stick them back on lol. It could be the glue youre using, the lashes youre using or perhaps youre not putting enough on the second time?

You should get these lashes I made a topic,I save soo much money

edit: I just realised the link doesnt work on that topic try this and look in their shop for different types of lashes

On ebay you can get a pack of 60 pairs for 7 pound... and they also sell to the US for 10 dollars. And that's including postage. Shipping is slow and even though the quality is not the same as eyelure or ardell, as long as you buy some quality glue (and brand name except revlon) they stay on all night. And at that price I don't really expect them to be that reuseable.
I used to buy a single pair for 7 pounds, at least one a week, and I'd try to use but after the second use I couldn't get the glue off.

The best thing I've found is to cover the actual eyelash with loads of glue, wait longer than they say on the glue, until it's really tacky, and then put it on with tweezers. Better too much glue than not enough.

Cover up any icky gluey patches with a bit of shadow, blend it out and voila. Bambi eyes.

I agree about buying in bulk on ebay, it will save you a lot of money in the long run. I can get 3 uses out of each pair of lashes by scraping the mascara off them with my nails and then picking the lash glue off with a pair of tweezers. If you don't put mascara on them you could make them last even longer. It's really easy to get almost all the glue off which a pair of sharp slanted tweezers, the kind of glue I use is lash-grip by ardell. It has a gummy latex consistency so it's soft and easy to remove. I actually like my eyelashes better the second time I use them!

Thanks girls!! I don't think that I was picking enough of the glue off...I'll give that a shot.

And I LOVE the idea of buying them in bulk - a couple months supply for $10? Screw re-using them! LOL

Any recommendations on glue brands? I've been using Quo...

Ardell Lashes or Red Cherry Lashes. I reuse a pair every single day for about 2 weeks. I pick off the glue and I clean them with rubbing alcohol.there are several videos on YouTube on how to clean them hope I helped!!! Oh and the red cherry lashes sell in some places for $1.50

I second on buying lashes on ebay. I got 10 pairs for less than 3 bucks. As for glue, I never mess around with anything that isn't Duo. I'm not sure if that is what you use (never seen Quo lash glue), but I thought i'd throw that out there.

I wouldn't try it, just because I don't think it would be safe to have rubbing alcohol that close to your eyes. I think you mean to clean them? I would use a non oily makeup remover, seeing as I would think the oil based removers could affect how well the glue holds them on.

I use Ardell lashes and their lash-grip glue, and I am definitely NOT gentle w/ them at all! I tear them off at the end of the night although I do use my lash comb to remove the old gunky mascara and glue.

My only problem with false lashes is that the glue doesn't seem to come off my eyelid easily, or at all... I've tried soap and water and baby oil, neither work for me?

I used to be able to apply the fakes, but kinda shaky now. I'm going to try Jay12's rec, thanks hun!
I did see a link: Urbandecay.com there's an addition to it, but you should be able to find from that. It give a quick tutorial on false lash application.

I second the Duo lash glue! The glue that comes with fake lashes tends to be crappy, and Duo is cheap and easy to find in stores.

Dunno if anyone has said this already, but you need to make sure you have enough glue at the ENDS of the lashes to keep them on, and then wait for the glue to get tacky and sticky, about 30-45 seconds, before you apply the lashes.

As far as glue goes, I get the black weave glue that is sold typically to be used in applying weaves. Because it's black (instead of that white that's supposed to dry clear but sometimes doesn't dry clear all the way) it's easier to hide the line. Just remember to look for the type that does NOT have the anti-fungal stuff in it-- that stuff is still useable but it puts off this chemical that makes my eyes water for awhile. A little squeeze bottle should be about $3 and last forever so long as you keep it airtight when not using it.

I'm sorry if I confused anyone, The rubbing alcohol is used to remove the glue residue then they eye lashes are washed in warm water and mild soap or baby shampoo. Combed with a spoolie to retain the shape and left to air dry.I would never suggest putting anything with rubbing alcohol near to the eye. In my haste to reply I did not clarify properly.

It sounds kind of weird but I use the regular white hair extension glue on mine (the kind that comes out like the white elmers glue we used in school) a friend taught me it and I love the way it works compared to the lash glue I used to use.

Thanks so much for all the advice girls - can't wait to start experimenting!! I really think that it might be a glue issue - not taking it all off the first time, and not putting enough back on after that! I'm going to order a bunch online this week, and when they arrive I'll let you know how it goes!

Ardell! Those are the ones I use! I highly recommend them, even though buying bulk sounds great. But the nice thing about Ardell is you can buy them anywhere.

Check the ingredients in your eyeliner and eyeshadow too. If it has something like mineral oil in it, it might be creating a barrier between your skin and not letting the glue stick as well as it should.

Did anyone see the newest Town & Country magazine cover, (Feb '11) with a head shot of brunette model? THAT'S how I want my eyelashes to look, I know those are false lashes, not just mascara, they just don't mention it in the credits.

Thats the glue I use, works well for me the only issue I have is sometimes dry glue around the top part.

Omg I never thought of this. I have the black version of the same glue. It sounds like it would be perfect. I have like... 3 bottles laying around, I'll try it out. Isn't it all just latex glue anyway?
