What happened? Are you okay?

Was it your club? Did they rip you off?

Lemme guess... Sapphire maybe?

What happened?

Hear me ramble about random things:

It's worth it to tell other dancers if a club rips you off or does something illegal. Many of us travel on this board ( maybe someday soon I will finally go to Vegas after being scared of it .... lol ) . I'll avoid that place for sure .

Share your story... No one can give advice if they don't know
I recall reading bad things about saphire's already so you won't be the first. Go ahead and tell us :

Ok. There you go. Go in to work to pay my house fee is $70 after 8pm plus my $55 for off the stage fee. I wasnt realy paying attention, guy behind said $140 I paid then walked to the dressing room with the receipt thinking: then look at receipt, do my math, go back to ask why it says $125 on receipt when I just paid $140? He says I have to paid an extra $15 for DJ, I questioned that since I am paying an off stage of $55... So I said ok but I wanted a receipt that says $140 cuz I paid $140, he said no can do and manager Jimmy shows up. Tells me I have to pay $140 but receipt wont show the $15 dollars and I should be content with the receipt saying $125 and go to work... I said no, I want my money back and want to go home... he said you already paid, you have to work! I said: fine and walked to the dressing room saying: this is going to be all over the net! he screams after me and refunded me the $$ and I leave.
It is obviously they were trying to rip me off since I never paid extra $15 before cuz I do off the stage. and they are cash in that money without claiming since the receipts says a different amount. Imagine how many girls they are doing that too, some that don't pay attention, foreign dancers, drugged out ones, etc They are hiding that money under the table by giving different amounts on the receipt that you paid.
I am posting cuz I do not want a fellow dancer going through a very upsetting night...

Maybe because they are calculating the $125 going to the club and the $15 going directly for the dj ? I'm not sure ! At any rate, it sucks to feel like a club swindles you. I've had clubs go by "club time" when doing my fee's so where my phone said 6:55 ... they were like ... no it's 7:05 our time and so you owe an extra $20. They always do little tricks. Part of getting started in a new place is figuring out those little tricks.
^ Sorry that happened to you, but did you check their rules? Did it say 15$ goes to the DJ whether on stage or not. This could be one of their rules that they give the 15$ to the DJ. Have you asked the other girls?

I paid $125 before so yes the rules suddenly changed in a blink of a eye but I was ok with paying the $140 I just wanted a receipt showing that for tax purposes. When you buy something at a store costing $100 you get a receipt showing exactly that not showing that you paid $80. I taught it was only fair game.

It should always be 140$.... And yes they WILL try some slick shit. A few weeks ago I checked out and was told I owed 160$. WHAT? Supposedly, I had two missed stages.... Problem was I checked out the night before and the missed stages were from after I was gone. I was looking right in the face of the very dude who checked me out. There was also a "room rental fee" on my reciept. I, in all my years there have NEVER even heard of such a thing. WTF??? Luckily I keep
all my reciepts and was able to prove that I did indeed check out when I said I did. It's complete bullshit. It's not the first time they have told me I owe some inflated fee but I never back down and just pay it and ALWAYS keep my reciepts on hand. Im
so sorry that happened to you. Sapphire is the king of shady.

No offense but I thought there would be more to this story.
No doubt Sapphire is shady, but being fucked out of 15 dollars seems PG13 in the dancing world.
lol true, but I can see where she is coming from. It wasn't about the $15, it was about they treated her with such disrespect. Sadly this sort of thing is not uncommon in this biz, and it sounds like everyone agrees that the people running Sapphires Vegas are sleazy, so good to know.
Can't help it, I'm a born....[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Yeah, they should have been able to explain to you what was going on and not be a-holes about it.
At my club, we never get receipts for the tips we're required to give to the DJ and house mom (unreported tips are tax-free, so I think they don't want there to be a record of how much $$$ they make). But luckily, I don't think I've ever been cheated out of money or charged the wrong amount at my club. You should never have to deal with that at your workplace... although it's all too common in strip clubs.

^^^ actually, this is the result of the new Obamacare law requiring all small businesses to account for business to business payments and issue 1099's at the end of 2011. Under the new law, since the DJ is not a club employee but a small business operator, the club CAN'T legally give you a receipt for money paid to the DJ's business and not to the club.
From a tax standpoint, you have two choices. You can get the DJ to fill out a W-9 form including his real name, real address, social security number etc., issue the DJ a 1099 form at the end of the year, and claim those payments as a business expense. Or you can fail to get this information and fail to issue the DJ a 1099 form ... in which case the money you pay to the DJ will be considered to be a non-deductible, fully taxable ( to you ! ) voluntary gratuity payment just like voluntary tips to waitstaff in a restaurant.

Do you really think that was about the $15? you got to be kiding? It is the way the talk down to me like I was "human garbage" and the fact I always paid my fees before my shift, never owed money and I expect the same respect back to me. I paid $125 before so yeah all of sudden it changed so it was their mistake not mine but to try to make me believe I always paid $140 or treat me like I was lying thats another story.
