Default Fu#k! Cant get rid of this damn POS truck!

Im seriously considering insurance fraud! I have a 2006 trailblazer with 98,000 miles, no ac/heat, one speaker, the breaks skip when im goin over bumps or rocks...I owe 7,300 principal (with interest 9200) and I wanna trade it in but im gonna be sooooooo upside down. I am gonna be driving from Fl to Cali (moving) and dont wanna drive that shit! Im having the hardest time trading it in and ive been turned down so many times, even with going in to the dealerships with 5,000. I worked SO hard for that, and found the perfect car, and left crying, AGAIN, in my piece of shit truck. So now im working my butt off paying for a truck as well as wasting money repairing it. Im pretty discouraged. On top of paying student loans, bills, day care....

My truck has been been vandalized countless times (by some one who obviously doesnt like me much) and I have police reports...

Im really considering vandalizing the shit out of my truck to total it and collect. Yea its fraud but im fuckin fed up. (Yes I AM a law abiding citizen and a goody two shoes according to most people...but this time...well, Ive had enough)

Not really in the mood for bashing... I really want some "hell yea's! here's what U do.." Or other ideas/ alternatives would be nice. I have a month to get rid of this thing. Otherwise, don't comment.

    Just needed to vent.

Can you take your personal stuff out and just leave it in a bad neighborhood? That way you don't have to be part of a fraudulent act, but if someone steals it, it's not your fault and you may be able to get it totaled.

I don't know much about stolen vehicles and if it matters if they're recovered or not, but it's worth looking into.

Sounds like it's worth maybe 3000, tops. So if you owe 9200, there is no good way out. Yes, it is good to have a good credit rating but at that price? I would default on the loan. That way you are not breaking any law, you will have to build your credit back up but you can't get in any other trouble like you could if you did some kind of insurance scam.

If you commit insurance fraud than you are not a law-abiding citizen or goody two shoes no matter how you think of yourself. Not judging here, we all do dumb shit, but fooling yourself into thinking that it's ok to break the law here because it's hard for you is dumb.

Totaling it usually doesn't work. It's pretty obvious when someone has done it themselves, and a quick search of your recent payments and issues with the car will only prove it (my boyfriend was a cop, and 90% of the time whens omeone reported a car mysteriously being totaled, they were found out with 1 week to have done it themselves, and were charged with fraud).

Your best bet is to take it to sell for parts at a junk yard, or place it on Craigslist for quick sale. You won't get that $9200, but you'll get a decent chunk to put towards something else.

So you are willing to take 6000 dollar loss to keep your credit score? I'm not sure that is a good decision, but in that case, sell it for whatever you can get, use the money to buy a dependable $2000 dollar car (not hard to find), keep making your payments, and eat the loss.

Don't damage it yourself. Remember insurance will only pay the 'totalled' value of it, which is less than you owe.

But if you were to forget to lock it and that you have a backup key under the front mat, would it be your fault if someone stole it and parted it out?

(Probably the only way it would have significant value anyway.)
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

Actually yes, it would be your fault. Almost all theft insurance policies have "carelessness" clauses that make it impossible to collect if you leave the keys in the car or in an obvious spot.

So my best bet is to find a car, trade this one in, and give up a huge down payment to cover costs... and still be upside down. I will still place an ad on CL. I owe 7300 but i know i cant get that much for it... but i cant really afford to take my losses seein how ill have to cover the rest to pay it off, PLUS pay for my own transportation--prob a rental-- PLUS the down payment for a new car.... ughhhhhh
wonder if it will go for 6000 its a good looking vehicle and runs good, just needs some work
