    Default Starting over age thirty?

(If your answer to this question is no, please feel free to laugh--just not so hard that you hurt yourself, okay? A girlie's gotta ask, and proceed accordingly and/or get on with her life.)

Is it possible for the "average girl" (not a celebrity, reasonably attractive, tanned, in-shape, long blonde hair, with natural C-cup t*ts that still defy gravity) to start a profitable dancing career over age thirty, or is it just a lost cause? A hundred a night would be acceptable to start, and I'm willing to hustle like h*ll.

The economy's another factor. Not so much money circulating--but seems like there are lotsa vacancies in the local clubs, too.

If it's not a complete lost cause . . . is it better to get started in a club in LA or TX? If there's hope, what suggestions do you have to the dancer getting started at an older age?

I've just read Susan Wayward's notes on the sticky, and if this thread gets deleted I'll understand. (I'm leaving that to the mod's discretion, since I can "see it both ways.") If this post gets to stand, however, I would be interested in tips specific to strippers getting started at an older age and whether it's better to start in LA or TX.

Of course it's possible to start dancing at age 30 ! In fact, 40-50 year old club customers often prefer more 'mature' dancers ... as long as they are still hot !!!

As to the choice of LA vs TX, these days I would probably opt for TX ... if for no other reason than the fact that TX's economy hasn't been as badly hit !

It's totally possible to start dancing over age thirty. I've known numerous dancers who were older than 30, and several of them were top earners.

Just chiming in to say that over 30 is no big deal. Several of the girls I work with are older women and they seriously bank. That's not to say that you won't lose out on sale because of your age, but if you look good and can learn to be a good hustle, then you'll be able to make money. There's a customer for everyone, and tons want an older woman.

I started when I was 20 and can honestly say that my money goes up with age. Most top earners I know are 32 and up. Think of it this way who does the "target client " (middle age white guy well dressed) wanna talk to the brand new just turned 18 girl who is alot like his daughter? OR the 30 something girl who is not only closer to his age but actually gets his jokes, style and personality.

I will turn 32 on Thursday. I walked into 2 clubs this week and got hired on the spot. My managers at my day job think I'm 25. My cousin is also 31 and she banks! She's in New York. Don't worry about your age just look hot!!

Yes!!! and 30 is not "older" like someone else said! Just make sure to start in Texas; more opportunities to make 1000+ night, LA they shut down at 2 and take a lot of your money, good night here is $300.

There are always "vacancies" in the clubs because every girl they hire = more income for the club (house fees and dance cuts they collect from you). They always want more girls to pay those fees and they know it's easy to find more girls who will pay and put up with more shit in a bad economy.

But yes it is certainly possible to start and make money over 30 and over 40. If you're hot you will appeal to a wide market BECAUSE you are a little "older".

I'd be right pissed off at $100 a night though. Aim higher.

Texas isn't all that great money-wise either. I don't know where anyone got that idea, but yes it is definitely better than LA. lol

I think it's hilarious that you consider that "average". (Don't worry, I didn't hurt myself )

Seriously, if you fit that description, you're doing better than a lot of 20 year olds I've seen. You might as well give it a shot.

I'm 18 and a dancer, I'm going to be honest with you...... dancers over thirty are sexy as hell! I would pass up a fancer who is 18 for the 30 year old for the simple fact they know how to be sexy without being slutty! I know this sounds like an oximoron because I'm 18 but at the club nobody believes me (I don't even know how an 18 year old acts..I'm too mature I must regress!!) Most people guess between 22 and 28. The only guys in that club who want 18 year olds are creepers and college kids, neither of which have cash.

You can absolutely start over 30!! In fact, you may end up doing better - most older women have passed the need to party and go nuts, have a decent grasp of money (you've been managing it for this long!) and are mature enough to deal with drama, insults etc and not get manipulated by crappy managers and owners. A lot of the older guys really like older dancers too - they are turned off by women young enough to be granddaughters.

In terms of LA vs TX...I second TX. I have always wanted to work at the Lodge - just sounds like a great place, but I have never worked in the US, so I would go to club chat to ask about the best clubs in the area and what to expect.
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.

I think we get foolishly hung up on age/milestone/numbers. Age is not such a roadblock, I have witnessed this clearly.
Having said that, I have a few politely-intentioned questions for you:

Is it possible for the "average girl" (not a celebrity, reasonably attractive, tanned, in-shape, long blonde hair, with natural C-cup t*ts that still defy gravity) to start a profitable dancing career over age thirty, or is it just a lost cause? A hundred a night would be acceptable to start, and I'm willing to hustle like h*ll.

Everyone has a diffenent definition of "profitable". Could stripping outweigh your other work alternatives?
Are you REALLY willing to "hustle like hell"? Then you most certainly won't be accepting $100 per night. That is neither lucrative nor worthwhile, even to start. As one dancer mentioned already, you must aim much higher.

Best of luck, and I'm sure you will do quite well! Don't let the age issue come into play too much.

I'd not seen this thread before thanks for bump!Top earners in my main club are 32,36,and 42. None dress any different to a younger dancer.

I can be top earner quite often depending on what customers are in and luck, am usually near the top too.
I'm almost 31, pass for mid twenties usually, some guys think late twenties some guys think early twenties-my regulars know how old I am, I'm honest about it.
The best thing to do I think is to not think about your age-think about your sexiness, looking your best and feeling hot.

Dude there is a MILF at my club. 42 years old with a college age son. She is built like a thoroughbred horse with legs a mile long and a torso I'd cheerfully sell my soul for. The veterans have years of experience and discipline behind them. As long as you look hot age is just a number. I'm pushing 30 in a couple of years and I'm proud to say I look better than these lumpy little fatties chomping down on McDonald's in the dressing room.

Age is nothing but a number. I worked with an extremely successful dancer (who was not a celebrity or anything like that) that was in her 50's. Her son was older than me. She was older than my own mother at the time. She did very well for herself and she had a real estate business on the side. It's a matter of keeping up appearances... if you look good, age does not matter.

I started dancing a week before my 30th b-day. Just like a lot of girls said already the older girls (who look good) in our club make bank. We have a lot to offer for conversation, having had more experiences and 55 year old guys still think we r young! You will learn who to tell your real age to (and proudly) and u will learn who to occasionally lie about it to. There will always be a couple guys that want a "green" 18 year old, but thats cause they want to take advantage of them, so who wants them as customers anyways! My only tip is to bot rely too much on your conversation skills, u have to ask for dances after a bit to make money.
