Default Best Pole to Buy for Apt??

So, what is the best pole for an apartment? I don't want a cheap one that will fall over and break my neck. One that I can do any trick I want to try. I really want to get a pole so I can practice at home and also for the exercise...but I don't want a permanent pole.

I was looking at the Lil Mynx pole but I don't like the hook thing you have to leave on the ceiling...kind of hard to explain that being in the middle of the ceiling in my living room LOL..

Anybody have a pole they really like that's easy to put up and take down that is sturdy and lets you do all your pole tricks?

    Thanks!

I own a lil mynx pole and it leaves pretty minimal damage, only the one hole in ceiling, which you can easily fill before you move out. No sane landlord is going to ding you for one small hole that they probably won't even be able to see. If you have hardwood floors though (I do) you will probably need to screw it into the floor as well. I did, just for my peace of mind and its very sturdy. Again, its 4 small holes I can cover up. I guess it depends on your building though, I think you can get away with more in an older building, mine is over 100 years old so its already full of dings, dents, holes, scratches, etc that just come with older buildings. New units it would be harder to hide, but I think you could still get away with it. If you're at all worried, ask your landlord. I personally think the whole tension mounting thing is scary, I wouldn't feel comfortable doing any crazy tricks on something that wasn't bolted somewhere...

I have been dancing on the XPole for a few years. It hasn't left any marks on my ceiling or anything. I usually keep it on rotating mode so I think that is my only complaint of why it needs to be adjusted frequently. I could dance on it everyday and have to adjust it like once or twice a week. I don't know if its becuz of how aggressive I am with it or what. It is sturdy as well even on my carpet. Plus when maintenance come to check my apartment I hurry up and take it down (less than 10 minutes to put away). I live in a luxury townhouse so they don't allow much to be done to alter the place (I don't want em to think I drilled holes in the ceiling) A+ for XPOLE!

Is it better to get 45mm or 50mm?

^ 50 mm is what they have at most, if not all, strip clubs. So if you want to learn on the same kind of pole you'd be using when working, 50 mm is the way to go. A 45 mm works well for smaller hands. Like, my hands are really ridiculously tiny; I've never in my life met a single adult who has hands as small as mine. So it would be easier for me to practice moves on a 45 mm pole and get comfortable with it; then I would just have to adjust to using a 50 mm pole professionally.

My club has 2 sizes of pole - one is abnormally small (I reckon that must be about 45mm) the other is probably 50mm. But the smaller one is the one on the main stage unfortunately. I guess getting a 50 and learning stuff on that will translate better when I go to different clubs, it'll just be harder on the one we use here for the moment...

Lil mynx has worked well for me. It's traveled with me to two homes. I didn't even fix the tixy screw hole in my old apt - no one notices it.

The only time I've ever seen or used a Lil Mynx pole, it was at a photographer's studio; he had a deal with my club where he would photograph the girls for the website. Maybe he hadn't installed it properly, but it didn't rotate very well; it was extremely stiff and unresponsive, and I couldn't get it to spin properly for the life of me. I'm going to get an X-Pole when my fiancee and I finally get an apartment.

Those of you that have the xpole do you have the xpert or the sport pole? The sport pole is cheaper but I have a rotating pole at work so I was wondering if I should buy the xpert one for almost $100 more...

The sports xpole is cheaper, because it doesn't spin.
If you want to practise on a spinning and stationary get the xpole xpert.
If you're ok with non-spinning then get the sports

I have the xpert pole... but used it 10% on spinning, its fun and looks appealing, but if you arent going to use it then I wouldnt bother. It's best to practise from stationary first anyway to build muscles if you're going into serious stuff. But if your work has the spinning pole and you want to practise on spinning and stationary get the xpert.

I would also look for the older models of the xpole xpert (not the x-joint), should be cheaper.

I got the 50mm, reason being is because I wanted my at home experience to feel just the same as if it were at an actual club. Plus I always had dancing in the back of my mind so I wanted to be prepared for the standard size. I got mine off of ebay for $299 which included free shipping but they took damn near 2 weeks to get it to me (shipping frm Cali). But yeah...it rotates and can be stationary but stationary kicks my a$$. I handle the blows better with rotation lmao.

The X-Sport has a few issues that I really don't like:
    1. the uncovered screw at the bottom. OK if you don't need to extend much, but if you need to extend a lot, and the next extension won't fit, you could have up to 5 inches of screw thread showing!
    2. BECAUSE it doesn't spin, there are no locks to stop it spinning, only some notches on the upper support, which don't really do the job so well, so the pole turns when it shouldn't.
    3. The upper support is half the size of the X-Pert pole. I personally reckon I could pull it down with a couple of well executed spins!

I have the platinum stages super pole. I chose it over the xpole because I wanted stainless steel instead of chrome (my last pole was a one piece fixed chrome). The pole is sturdy but the two top pieces of the pole are now wedged together (even though I used wd40 and didnt leave it up for too long). This means that when I move I cannot adjust the pole, really pissed off about that!!!
I used the super pole in my pole dance classes and they were sturdy, but for some reason Im scared to go upside down on my own one - staying in place by tension only! Im used to my old fixed pole.

Definitely agree with 50mm XPert pole... just like the ones at work for me, except the work ones are about twenty feet. Have never had any damage to my ceilings with it, either.

get the chrome 50mm x-pole. I have the titanium gold and it's so much stickier than the ones that are used at clubs (stainless steel). On top of that, almost all clubs use 50mm (the club I'm at uses 45 though).
