Default Money in advance for each private dance?

At the club where I work we have been told that we have to get lap dance money up front. The management says that if we don't and a customer decides not to pay us then it is our fault and they won't do anything to help us. The thing is that having to ask for money up front is a sure fire way to loose out on a lot of potential income. I know from experience that if I stop and ask the guy after each song if he wants to pay another $20 in advance then he is going to loose the mood and become money conscious and want to stop. So my theory is I would rather sacrifice the money on occasion than cripple myself money-earning wise by asking for the money for each song in advance.

Also, they don't make people pay in advance for their drinks, why not? They don't make people pay in advance for their food. Personally I think this policy is idiotic and I feel the bouncers should be earning their money instead of forcing us to operate in a way that will cause us to loose income.

You can get more upfront from strangers by saying exactly what you just said and adding that the more they pay for now the better you will dance. It's the same as asking if they want the special dance that costs double what the regular dance is. They feel "special" for buying the "special" dance.
You could also have management post a small sign in the dance area to back you up about collecting upfront. Mabe management could even let you give a discount, say buy 5 songs get 1... buy 10 get 3, yes, you lose $$ on 3 songs *but* you might not have been able to hustle the 10 songs w/out the bargain. Makes it easy to collect up front when you do that too.

I work in a ticket club, so we have to get money upfront. I just make it sound like the guy has a lot of options "So shall we get a single or a double so I can keep my clothes off for longer?" or turn it into blocksof time like "I can dance for you for 10minutes if you by 3 tickets, or 20minutes if you buy 5"

The only time I ask for dance money up front is when I can tell I'm not going to be able to stand a customer for a whole song or when he's really, really drunk and I know he's only going to get one. I know my experience is not indicative of everyone, but I have been dancing 4 years and I have been cheated on only 4 or 5 dances. This is worth it to me, because maintaining the flow sells more dances.

If a customer is reluctant to pay, I will do what I can to get my money but I won't bring the club into it or expect them to do anything.

I once worked in a club that had this rule. It became enforced when men would come in, buy dances then leave. It was in a lower income area and they would get a lot of scum guys. I found that the decent guys knew the score and had no problem paying upfront.

I've walked out on guys who can't behave even when they've paid upfront. No refunds if I've started dancing. Nudity or not.

This is the same as my club, and I've come to prefer it. Usually I will say "lets get the money out of the way now so we can get to the fun part!" or "while we wait for the next song to start (because I want you to have as long as you can!) lets to do the money bit.." and its very rare that a guy will not immediately pull out his wallet.

I will always ask if we are starting with one or three (our club does a block of three for a hundred) and half the time, they will pull out a hundred to start with.

After I have got the initial payment done, I will usually rack up a few songs before collecting again - so as not to break the flow of the dances. When they take that initial $40 out, have a sneaky peek in their wallet - you should be able to tell if they have more cash. Every $100, I stop to collect, and usually say something like "whew - you are getting me all worked up! Lets take a tiny break, settle up for those ones, and then I can keep going" its not usually an issue, and it lets you see how fast they run out of money.

We also have a cash machine in the club, and I know it works on Canadian cards only, so I will make guys who are from the US (they come over often from the border) pay me everything up front, because I know that they can't get more out.

Honestly, the only guys that get iffy are the ones without money! And if you collect up front, you can walk out on a dance if they are grabby, nasty etc, or still get your money if they start puking, passing out, etc etc. The other plus is that every now and again, some drunk eejit will forget that they already paid, and then pay again at the end...god I love those guys...
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.

Exactly, if I can tell they are going to be unbearable or too drunk to count, I get my money up front so I can cut the dance whenever I want and leave. But I do not usually hustle these customers in the first place, so I do not do this very often.
