At the club where I work we have been told that we have to get lap dance money up front. The management says that if we don't and a customer decides not to pay us then it is our fault and they won't do anything to help us. The thing is that having to ask for money up front is a sure fire way to loose out on a lot of potential income. I know from experience that if I stop and ask the guy after each song if he wants to pay another $20 in advance then he is going to loose the mood and become money conscious and want to stop. So my theory is I would rather sacrifice the money on occasion than cripple myself money-earning wise by asking for the money for each song in advance.
Also, they don't make people pay in advance for their drinks, why not? They don't make people pay in advance for their food. Personally I think this policy is idiotic and I feel the bouncers should be earning their money instead of forcing us to operate in a way that will cause us to loose income.
