    Smiley Audition tonight! any tips?

Ive read so many helpful things on this site and the internet in general to help me prepare for my audition tonight, but I'm still a little nervous. I've never danced or encountered a pole! I'm really excited, but any advice on different dance poses/lapdance moves would be really appreciated. I want to be hired and work a good night so badly, I know not to expect tons of money my first night but it would be so much more encouraging if I did! Thank you for this site and your help!

Slow = sexy. You don't have to dance along to the fastest beat, fnd a sexy pace to dance at and whatever moves/poses you do against the pole can be worked from different angles. You can wiggle your ass to one side of the stage and then do the same to the other side. Relax, try and make eye contact and a flirty, naughty face if you can. It doesn't matter if you look shy, this comes across as cute.
Good luck I'm sure you'll do fine!

Thank you! Ill just keep saying "slow" and "sexy" in my head while I'm dancing. Any advice as to how to approach customers? I think I've thought the dancing part into submission but the one on one customer approach thing I've never seen before and am nervous about. Id hate to be standing by myself on the floor pathetically looking around for men....That is, of course, if I get hired!

^I usually take a very customer service-oriented approach to guys. I'd go up to them, and then I introduce myself. I ask them how they're doing, or how their day is going. We maybe chat for a moment. Then I ask if they'd like a dance. If they say yes, we go from there. If they say no, I tell them that if they change their mind, they should feel free to call me back over, and don't be afraid to ask any questions they may have.

Unless they are SUPER douchebags about saying no, I NEVER get an attitude about a rejection. A lot of guys are really terrified and intimidated by strip clubs, and sometimes they have to sum up the courage to get a dance. And that always set me apart from the other girls, who were really negative and bitchy divas when they got rejected. I frequently have guys flagging me down half an hour after I approached them and telling me I was the most nice or polite girl there, and they want to do some dances. And don't get discouraged after a rejection. Be systematic about it: approach EVERY unattended guy in the place. You never know who is sitting there like a deer in the headlights, ready to spend a grand on the first girl who says "hi." I can't tell you how many times I would go up to a guy randomly, ask for a dance with minimal or no chit-chat, and then have him immediately buy 10 dances in a row and tip hundreds on me. It's like no effort required.

Also, never be afraid to ask for the sale. You'll have to take the lead with a lot of customers, so you should get used to setting the pace. You can't wait for the customer to ask YOU for a dance; 95% of the time, you'll sit there waiting until last call.

Don't be afraid to tell them that you're new. New girls usually do very well; my first night was incredible, and I didn't have a CLUE what I was doing. And that can give you an approachable element that other dancers may not have.

Plus, after a little time, don't be afraid to re-approach customers. Guys change their minds all the time. Maybe they needed to settle in and get in the right mood. Lots of customers want a couple of drinks in them before they get a dance.

I know the customer interaction can be extremely intimidating, but you'll pick it up quickly enough. It gets better, I promise. Just remember: it may be a very unusual atmosphere, but this is still a SALES job. Have a business-minded approach and don't take rejections personally. Lots of girls will let rejections get to them, and then they're in such a bad mood that they end up not making ANY money. Just move on to the next guy.

I hope your night went well and your hustle worked. Like firemaiden said, don't be afraid to start the sale. Some guys are too scared to ask how it all works, so after introducing yourself its a good idea to ask 'Has anyone explained to you what we offer here?' then you have the opportunity to explain what dances/VIPs are on offer without being pushy 'Okay well is it okay if I tell you now so you can decide when you're ready?'
Itsa very passive sale but very effective as the customer feels in control.

For your first week when talking to people, try slipping in the fact that your new to dancing and really excited/happy. They'll almost always come up and tip you on stage.

Oh and remember to smile and make eye contact. Usually when I start with my first set, I'm not in the mood yet and ppl can tell, which results in no one tipping me lol. But when im smiling and looking like i'm having fun, they just eat it all up

Thank you so much everybody! My night went great, so great that this is the first time I've had time to get on here since my audition. Being new is definitely an advantage, men were throwing money at the stage even though I have absolutely nothing on the other girls pole dancing skills saying they just wanted me to keep working there! I got a few VIP dances and one champagne room, making a total of 680 at the end of the night. I think thats pretty good for the first night, and last night I made 880! I'm going back tonight, trying to improve my skills. Informing customers of the deals is a great idea, I'm not much of a pushy sales person and working the question into the regular conversation was kinda tricky, and more awkward was if I let the conversation go too long before asking and when he replied "not now" he still wanted to continue talking and getting up right after would look tacky I thought. I also need to work up some courage to approach groups of guys, the alone men are easy and waiting and I can ask a single question to him. The groups are usually talking amongst themselves and I feel awkward interrupting for a bullshit question which they all know is only leading to a sale. I'm exhausted but going for my final night this week. How on earth do the girls stay up until 5 in the morning and go to school and have lives outside of the club?? I'm getting used to it, dancing is more fun and easy then I thought, I just shake my ass around and dip down a lot. Not much of a floor crawler type so far...Again thank you all so much for your help!

Congratulations, you've had an awesome first few shifts! Just a tip: don't feel awkward leaving if someone isn't spending on you. Play it off with a line like, "well I've had a lot of fun chatting with you but I have to get back to work, let me know if you want to go play later." You're there to make money, and most guys know how the game works.
