Thumbs up advice ( from Frankie Chemical )

Disclaimer : I didn't write this. But I enjoyed it, okay?

    A little advice – Part I

Posted at 4:36pm | As most of you know, my name is Frankie Chemical. I’ve been camming for 2 years now and have had to learn ALL this shit the hard way so I thought I’d pass it on in one big blog. Take it however you want. I’ve just seen too many new models who are totally lost on what to do and get scammed more than once. This is my good deed for the day.
-If you’re going to do a Skype/MSN/Yahoo! show GET PAID UP FRONT. A lot of members prey on new models just because well, you’re trusting. Not as jaded as the rest of us when it comes to this shit. I would recommend NEVER doing an off site show simply because it’s too easy for people to get their money back from PayPal AND get your account closed down for adult content. Fuck that shit. If they want an off site cam show, but put out the excuse that they won’t pay in tokens because “it’s not fair to you as a model who only gets half” kick them to the digital curb. If they have enough money to do that then they shouldn’t mind paying the site half.
    - Fill out your profile with other things besides “im soo hot 4 u” and your biggest turn on being tips. Your profile should represent what you do on cam/in private/group/for tips. Not only that, but you can give people an idea of how you are as a person/on cam. Believe it or not SOME people do still read profiles.
    - If you’re on a forum that has a search function use it. Especially if it is one that pretains to cam modeling/the adult industry. I can’t be the only person who hates seeing the same question asked over and over in a new thread every other day.
    - Don’t ask for tips. If you’re having a slow night the last thing you wanna have spew out of your mouth or type out on a screen is “You are all cheap bastard” or “tips bb”. I’m not saying don’t EVER ask for them, just learn how to say it nicely. For example if you’re doing a countdown for whatever it should be something along the lines of “Man, I really want to finish the countdown and get to the naughty stuff [insert sad panda face here]”
    - Don’t beg for privates. Premiums HATE this. I’ve had to stop PMing people to welcome them to my room because so many girls do that and go straight for the throat “want prvt bb? its so hottt”. Also, it’s one of the many things that makes you look like a token whore.
    - Don’t be a dickhead. This should be obvious. But be nice. Be inviting. I’ll admit some guys get off on cam models who have that “better-than-you” attitude, but for the most part people just want a happy girl to hang with. This goes hand in hand with if you’re in a bad mood for whatever reason/feeling sick than don’t come on or only come on for a couple hours at most. If things start looking up, hey go you! But don’t be one of those girls who breaks down on cam or goes ballistic.
    - Don’t feed the trolls too much. I say too much because it’s fun to berate them occasionally. Don’t let them change the mood of the room and to do that you must ban on first offense. Also, grow a thicker skin. If you don’t it WILL fuck you up. And I hate to say this, but some girls aren’t meant for this type of job. From what I’ve seen most new models only last 6 months to a year tops.
    - Make sure your avatar (the first picture everyone sees) at least shows some of your face. Again this should seem obvious and I know that some guys would prefer just a tits/ass/pussy pic for your avatar, but most of those guys are the “time wasters”. I hate to be crude, but these are the type of guys who will want demand everything at a discount price/free and usually have no money to spend.
    - Make sure your avatar is actually you. It puts off members when they can recognize an ass cheek from their favorite porn star who obviously isn’t you. Or if it’s a face picture that looks NOTHING like you. It’s better to be self conscious & honest in the long run.
    - Don’t have people advertise for you in the lounge. It’s annoying as HELL for everyone in the lounge. Especially if they spam you. An occasional mention is totally fine, even better if you’re doing an awesome show, but don’t let some random guy try to boost you up with lounge spam.
    - Know your boundaries. And don’t change them for anyone, but yourself. I know, once again, this sounds simple, but I’ve seen a lot of models sell out just to try and reach the top. Do nasty, mind bending, CANNOT UNSEE things in public just to make some money. Do what you like, NOT what they like. There’s always another model out there willing to do what that particular person wants to see.
    - Don’t bash other cam models no matter what. First of all it makes you look insecure as hell. Secondly, it WILL come back to bite you in the ass. Trust me, I know. When I was a n00b cam model I had some grudges and jealous feelings. You’ll get over it and realize you are who you are and you’re fucking awesome (if you actually are HA!). And if a member comes in talking shit about What’s-Her-Face and even tries to rally your room to go troll hers, warn them then ban. Most members stop after a warning. You can’t control what THEY do, but you can control how you run your room.
    - Keep your anger in check. This goes along with the “don’t feed the trolls” thing. Don’t get pissy just cause you aren’t making enough or What’s-His-Nuts called you fat. Let it slide. Take a deep breath, maybe even a few minutes in AWAY mode and chill. Go to your happy place. Because trust me, a truly pissed off model is a BIG turn off.
    - If you ask for advice from other models TAKE IT! For the love of fuck, I can’t state this enough. If you’re brand new to this shit LISTEN. Don’t ask for advice just so you can reply feeling sorry for yourself and expect us to pick you back up. No. We have our own issues and problems to deal with. We took the time out of our day to help you. Appreciate it.
    - Don’t do countdowns for ridiculous things. An example would be a 20,000 token countdown to turn on the lights so people can see you. Or a 10,000 count down to get naked. It’s an unreachable goal and most members will see it as such. Which means unless you get lucky as hell it ain’t gonna happen.
    - Don’t dip in the cookie jar & run. Weird phrase right? Well, let me explain. Some models will do a countdown and then just have a “mysterious” cam software malfunction. Yeah, no one is buying that shit for a second & in the end the money is NOT worth how many decent, kind, awesome members you’ll lose to it.
    - What gets put on the internet STAYS on the internet. I’m not joking. If you don’t want to be up front and honest with the people close to you about what you do for a living (or a side job) then don’t do it. This can explain it much better.
    - No super drunk. Okay, so you’re a bit nervous. You have a drink or two. So what? No biggie. Now crossing the line from that to literally blacking/passing out on cam are two different things. And the first often leads to the second if you don’t know how to handle/control your drinking. It’s not sexy, it’s not fun and it makes you look like a freak show idiot.
    - Clean your toys. Another one that might seem like common sense, but I’ve known too many models who slacked off and got a couple infections and “just can’t figure out why that happened”. Well duh. Best way to do it would be ask AlexLady from MFC. I usually boil my glass toys & use anti-bacterial soap and EXTREMELY hot water on the ones I think would melt.
    - Be grateful. Whether it’s a 1 token tip or 1 bajillion show how much you appreciate it (cause you fucking should) by thanking the member by name (if you can, sometimes I have a hard time pronouncing names or have a tip flood and it’s hard to keep up). Even sending them a PM to say thank you will show how much you actually deserved what they gave you because you didn’t dismiss it & were most of all thankful.
    - Don’t expect big tippers right away. Now, some girls get lucky. I am not really one of those girls most nights. But most if not all good cam models get a big tipper who usually just want to make you smile at least once in their time on the site. So be patient. Don’t try to squeeze every last token out of some poor guy who worked his ass off just to tip you a large amount once.
-Keep your fans updated. Have a Twitter or Facebook. Maybe even both. Hell, even use the MFC Twatter (lulz) feed if you want, but make sure the people who want to watch you CAN and will know what time you’ll be on. It’s even fun to include a preview picture or description of what you’ll be wearing or doing.
-Don’t give out too much information. Unless you’re comfortable with it. Some members use little hints the models accidentally give away as puzzle pieces and can easily pin point where you are. If you want to keep your privacy THINK before you speak. And for the love of fuck do NOT give out your real name. Sure, it might be common, but if a member searches hard enough they will find you. I should also include in this that you should lock down/delete any person Twitter/Facebook accounts you have BEFORE opening up a model one. Just trust me on this if you don’t understand the common sense behind it.
-Read the fucking contract. This goes for ANY part of the adult industry. Some cam sites you sign up for have it so if you quit camming for any reason you can’t work on another site or ANY part of the adult industry for a number of years. And you should know that most cam sites own any content that happens while you’re on cam.

Great post!!! Thanks so much!! xoxoxoxo I had a MALE domme email me pointers how to spruce up my listings without me ever soliciting him. I love how some of us in this biz help each other out. I don't like to view us as being in competition with each other but as in keeping a standard in a business where these men can make it out of control.
