Default PTZ Camera with remote control?

    Hi ladies!

I am looking for a plug and play ptz camera with a hand held remote. I recently purchased a Sony EVI-D30 and a top of the line capture card, but I am running on a Dell D620 with 2 gigs of ram. Unfortunately, it's only powerful to run my Logitech with SM's encoder functions. I can run it but I have to lower the settings which drops me in ranking. I am thinking plug and play will work much better since the capture card drains my system. I want to give my customers the best experience and I LOVE the remote feature. Sorry for rambling.....

Thanks in advance for your help. =)

How much did you get Sony EVI, you know you don't really need that type of camera.

you could have gotten an ebenk auto pan and tilt head or trackercam for way way cheaper and use a regular video camera that is under $500 now camcorders for home amatuer use are going around $200 to $500

The only way the Sony EVI will work is your using a your laptop (Dell D620 is a laptop) comes with a video caputre card build in, and you will need to increase your ram to current computer it seems.

You can also get trackercam wiht a remote control for your exiting logitech webcam. and again would be alot more cost effective then spending that much on the sony evi.

I was thinking about getting the tracker cam with remote, but does it allow zoom functioning from remote?

    That's what I want.
    Zoom-zoom-zoom! yeah yeah yeah!

I paid less than $100 for my Sony EVI camera, so it was a steal! I connect it with a USB capture card to my laptop. The final verdict is that my computer is not powerful enough to handle it. Its great to be able to pan to one spot to get dressed after a show with a click of a button. I have different spots pre-programmed, so I can zoom on my face, focus on my body, zom out when I am ready to do my show, etc all by touching one button! My guys loved it! Its neatly packed away until I get a more powerful computer, but I absolutely LOVE it!!!!

Thanks for sharing the inforamation on the tracker cam. It doesn't appear to have zoom capabilities which was why I purchased my Sony (in addition to the ptz functions). Logitech comes with software to zoom, etc, but I really want to get away from having to use the mouse to click around...the motions aren't smooth.

I'll be in heaven once I figure this out!

The trackercam made one for logitech pro9000 since its a universal remote you don't know its features until it arrives.

but all of that can be done with the sunpak remote pan and tilt head or the ebenk auto pan and tilt head. I wish I never pawned it but I had to when times where tough and the pawn guy didn't know what it was.

Oh really??? I will definitely check into the Logitech one. I looked at the ebank and sunpak and they appear to only pan and tilt unless I purchase a camcoder it supports. Is that correct? What camera are you using? Do you ptz from a wireless remote?

ebenk auto pan and tilt remote control supports pannosonic, sony and cannon, but if your video camera comes with its own remote control. you would have 2 which is not a big deal.

ebenk remote would be for the pan and tilt, then your cameras remote would be the zoom, record, and take still pics. as more of those features are on those remotes.

if I can handle 3 remotes for my television I can handle 2 remotes for my video camera to work webcam. hell duck tape or super glue them togehter back to back.

sunpak is corded from what I remember and I had a hard time trying to find one. I am not sure which cameras are compitable with its remote.

Thanks. I sent them a message about the Logitech. They didn't mention having a hand held remote, but I am crossing my fingers they will have good news for me. Wish my Sony could do the trick.

There has to be a remote for this or it will move automaticall by itself that is how trackercam is built

There is a remote via the trackercam software. I am trying to get away from having to use the pc to control the cam. I want a hand held remote.

From what it looks like you can get the one with the remote, remove the mount from the logitech cam or some how mount it on as is and use it with remote but as for zoom I have no idea unless you try it.

it may not be the ideal of how you want it but it will get the job done in whatever cam set up you choose.
