    Default Hypnotism

Have your (or have you ever known anyone) who has been hypnotized?

I've had these weird memories/flash backs for as long as I can remember and lately they've been coming up more and more.
They're just....well....weird....and make me wonder what I'm locking up in my past.

    Do you believe in it?

I do...I believe doors in our minds can be unlocked, but would you really want them unlocked?

I don't think I'd ever get hypnotized...only because if I am burying something awful from my past, it must be for a reason. (Then again, I know I'm not having these flashbacks/memories for no reason...)
but I also wouldn't want to unlock any doors that shouldn't be open.
Like, I don't wanna see dead people or anything...lol

    (Yeah, I sound crazy now..lol)

but...anyway, back to the question...have you ever been hypnotized or known anyone that has? Anything weird happen?

My ex husband was once, it was at a magic show. He said he did things like bark like a dog and some other weird stuff. He was alert and apparently thinks he wouldn't have done anything he didn't want to do, but had the irresistible urge to go along with everything the magician told him to do until he was released.

I've also heard that if there is anything your mind can't handle or that you really do not want to remember, that you won't, even under hypnosis.
"I hear you calling and it's needles and pins. I wanna hurt you just to hear you screaming my name...You're poision. but I don't wanna break these chains.... I wanna love you but I'd better not touch."

Yes I do believe one can be hypnotized under the right circumstances.

It sounds like a show here in Las Vegas I was a part of that calls audience members up to the stage. A friend and I both got on stage but she got cut and was sent back to the audience.

The hypnotist "tests" for the candidates he will use by suggesting "sleep." Then he yanks on each person's arm one at a time and they're automatically supposed to collapse on the person's lap next to them. If one shows any sign of discomfort or tension while he tugs the arm while he says "sleep" those being tested will not be able to participate, for he/she may not be able to be "hypnotized." When he did this to me, I felt like a rag doll when he tugged my arm.

The show was rather funny but I believe that if someone is in front of a large group of people knowing they are a part of the show, then that person will feel inclined to perform anything that's being suggested; basically they'd be putting on an act. No one would want to be perceived as boring when its supposed to be a comedy.

The best way I can describe being hypnotized during that show is the feeling of being intoxicated without the nauseous feeling. My head felt a bit fuzzy and I didn't feel any hesitation when he suggested we were all porn stars and that when it was our turn, to "perform in front of the camera and fuck the shit out of your chair!"

Someday I'd like to be hypnotized the traditional way, one-on-one, to find out what parts of my unconscious or subconscious will surface.

Yes, you can be. The more a person believes in it, the easier it is to hypnotize them.
I'd be careful who you go to though, as the hypnotist could easily just put false memories into your mind, and you would most likely believe that they have actually happened if you're open to it.

AriahsPariah - I saw that show! I watched it on the net somewhere I believe. Did he tell you all that the camera was an attractive person, so everyone was hitting on the camera that was filming them?

Do you remember what it was called?

Are you sure they're flash backs? You could be creating these visions.

Yes, it's Anthony Cools. He didn't say anything about hitting on the camera when I did the show, but his suggestions tend to vary. They are relatively the same though. Here's an example of what my group did. Too too funny!!

Hypnoitism is for real. Not everyone can be put under and even people who can be won't go under every time. I've worked with a couple of hypnotists around the Boston area for years and I also know a gal who was put under at the Anthony Cools show in Vegas last year.

It can be pretty funny but it can also be pretty serious. At one show I saw a woman in the back of the club go under from what was being done on stage more than 100' away from her. After the show ended and the room cleared the hypnotist had to bring her out of it.

I've been hypnotised, but nothing like a Vegas show.

I don't think most hypnotic therapy sessions are anything like these shows. It is just a way to enter a deeper state of relaxation - feels like sleep to me.

I'm not really sure. I guess they're more memories. Really vivid memories.
I've been having them for a long time.
Maybe because I'm pregnant...they're more intense?? I'm not sure. They're starting to make me wonder though. I mean, I've always wondered...and told my mom about them...and..well, I dunno. They're just weird. They make me uncomfortable.

Yes, I've been hypnotised. When lightly in a trance, it was similar to meditation. When heavily so, it was a lot like sleeping. It didn't help me with my issues though. So my experience is that the hypnotic state certainly exists but is not a cure-all for life's ills.

As for hypnosis to uncover memories, from what I've read, false memories can be and often are implanted (deliberately or not) by suggestion whilst in that state.

I had some crazy weird dreams when I was pregnant, so that could be it!
But if there making you feel uneasy you should talk to someone about them. Ive never been hypnotized and I dont really know anything about it...so I dont have much advice on that end
