Default Do you ever think as a SW'er....

That you sometimes overanalyze work? With the plethora of information here do you ever find yourself overthinking it? Am I too plain or too hot? Do I make enough for it to be worth it? Am I looking for the right customer? How should I word asking for a dance..etc. Don't get me wrong I think knowledge is power and I know that finding out ways to be a better salesperson in a sales job is positive... But sometimes I think, sheesh, Im just getting men to pay to see my boobs more or less. How would I do if I threw everything I know out the window and just went in and worked purely on instinct? Just a random thought

In my experience, the girls who work purely on instinct tend to make less profit than those who research and develop new sales skills on a regular basis. I have spoken with many brand new girls who have never bothered to pick up a sales book, or discover stripperweb or stripandgrowrich. Needless to say they're learning how to be a successful stripper through the stripper school of hard knocks. You and I and the other girls on this site have access to the tools we need in order to help better ourselves. We learn and grow through each other which gives us an upper hand. Just my two cents =]

Even with stripandgrowrich I find myself spending too much time with the wrong people from time to time, or thinking that I am even if the guy then goes on to spend more than anyone else that night. Its easy to think too much, but keep in mind that analyzing the situation and panicking is better than not thinking at all. A middle-of-the-night panic that you've not made enough can kick you into gear and change a bad night into a good one. My best nights always start slow, then I have a panic and kick into sales mode at the same time that the other girls become too drunk and the customers start to spend.
I hope this makes sense, I'm pretty much describing my night tonight, where I did nothing while the other girls were getting private dances, and then my customer got drunk enough to spend €2000 on me!

not really. i overanalyze everything anyways. and the more info i have, the better that works out.

now, if i threw out that personal quality, i would probably do better, because i'd talk to more customers. and i know that the main reason i don't make much is because i have a hard time talking to customers who don't seem interested in me. if i were one of those girls who's oblivious and cocky, i'd probably manage to get plenty of guys back there with me whether they liked me all that much or not.

Generally, I find that SW helps me so much! But I understand what you are saying...sometimes I wonder if I am trying too many new techniques at once, so I don't know which one is working!!

I think that analyzing is one of the best things to do if you do it right - so, pick up a new technique and try it (and make that the only difference in your routine) for a week, and at the end of each night, sit down, think over what you did and what worked, what went wrong, how can you fix it...and look at your actual earnings...over analyzing that way, I think, is AWESOME!

Learning from SW has definitely helped me walk into work for the first time with a lot of confidence. A lot of the posts that I've read on here, Ive somehow experienced already at work and its kind of just made me smile and think "okay I know how to handle this situation" or "i remember someones advice on this". I dont think it's really over analyzing for me. If anything its just a bunch of realllyyy good tips and tricks in the back of my mind that I can pull out to help me Thanks everyone btw

I've turned many conversations around with the info on this site and DW. We had a crazy slow night and maaaaany girls had made one dance or barely got tip-out. I gradually navigated through the problem guys and steadily made dances all night. I'd rather have control of how I handle the guys than be at the mercy of random luck.

    yes. i overanalyze everything.

"oh, it's just not the right season"
"oh, i didn't approach him correctly"
"maybe he was a red instead of a blue and i just didn't read him right..."

i make excuses for my lousy nights.

SW can make me feel.. cheap. So many girls on here are constantly talking about how they made a grand the other night or how they ONLY made $500...yada yada... Well I have only hit the 1g mark maybe 5 times in my stripping career of 8 years. I consider $300 a pretty damn good night, $500 is phenomenal to me and anything over $500, well I'm in heaven!!! I love my club, it's clean, absolutely no extras, the staff has got your back 99% of the time, it's a small club so we are like family, it's 10 mins from home and I'm comfortable here. But yea, the point of my post is that SW does make me feel cheap. I guess I'm not stripper material or I'm not cut out for this job according to this forum

^^Kaia, I make $4-500 a night average, and $300 is still an ok night for me, and anything over $600 is like "whoohoo!" But then I get on SW sometimes and think, well, shit, I guess I suck.

and then I start to overanalyze things, like is it truly worth it, did I approach him wrong cause he's a green and I thought he was a blue, or am I dancing right, or is it the wrong season or day.... Or sometimes Ill be gone from the club a while, and then start analyzing the managers, like, what's the right way to go back, can I go back, how should I ask...when really I could probably just walk right back in! It's so annoying!

I think the ones who overanalyze are the bitches in the dressing room who are like "should I wear this red outfit?? or the red out fit with the bows??? or should I wear my pink stockings with a white top and a black thong??" as if guys really give a fuck what you're wearing.

there's nothing wrong with using sales techniques.

I overanalyze things way too much... but I've always been that way, it's not just because of SW or DW. Men can really sense when you're trying too hard. I think that polished sales techniques are *amazing* for those who can apply them the right way (and probably better to know in the long run), but a lot of us seem to make more money when we're comfortable and acting natural, just flirting and using our feminine wiles. That's true for me, anyway.

I find it difficult to actually integrate things I read or learn into actual actions unless I am expose to it over and over again (over learning). I don't think too much/over analyze about strategies when I'm working per se, I just find ways to make it more fun for me and this positive energy has helped me attract business.

however, after the facts, when i'm not at work and reading on here, I would sometime feel cheap" as well. for example, touching is pretty common at the club I work at, so I get jealous at the ladies that work at a low contact club. there are so much info on stripperweb which can be confusing to people who are new to the industry, so you have to screen things out and use the ones that applies to you and your current situation. for instance, If i don't allow any touching at my club, I would make really little money.

but is ignorance really bliss? I thought I was doing pretty well at my club, but then I found out that ladies on here bank without being groped. But I do appreciate the wealth of knowledge from everyone on here, it keeps things interesting.

Doesn't SW exist because lots of strippers tend to over-analyze their jobs? I think it's the symptom, not the cause.
