Default Afraid of Owing the club!

Ok so I found 2 clubs to work for. There really wasn't an audition. They both pretty much just looked me over and said I could work. Both clubs are out of town. I haven't worked up the nerve to work in town yet. Based on everything I've read on here, I'm onna keep my day job until I find my rhythm at the club. Both clubs are dives and I'm definitely one of the prettiest girls there but I know that means nothing without a strong hustle. I know I can make money but I also know it will take me about a week to get my confidence and my comfort level up. I make enough money at my day job to get by (nothing extra) so every dollar I make or don't make is important. I'm taking any extra money I have just to get my dancer wardrobe together.

So my question is what happens if I owe the club money at the end of the night. I hope this will never be the case but I want to be prepared. Do I bring my own money with me just in case or will they let me pay it another day? I just wanna be prepared because I'm already gonna be spending about $30 in gas just to get there. Or am I overthinking this?

I've never owed, and I danced for 2 1/2 years. In my experience, the girls who OWED money were the ones who sat on their asses all night and didn't approach ANY customers. Just be proactive, and you'll be fine.

    @ firemaiden: that's what I was hoping
. I saw that the other night when I was visiting clubs. Girls were just sitting around and the club actually had a decent crowd. I guess I shouldn't go in with the mindset of owing money. I should go in expecting to bank.

Confidence and walking in KNOWING that you're going to make back your fees and then some is definitely crucial. Like Lexi, I always bring enough cash to cover my fees just in case though.

I've danced many years and only once broke even. The good thing about dives is they are often better clubs to start at because you can often learn. Plus being one of the prettiest will help you learn how to hustle.

I owe tonight and it is honestly the first night in 6 years that I have owed ALL of my house fee back. Once before I have owed 25 on top of the next nights house fee. Seriously we had 4 clients the entire shift and only one bought a dance from me.

In terms of making money don't worry about it a bit, some of the slooooowest shifts have been my best!

Definitely the best advice. Although sometimes you can't help things, like being snowed in and literally no customers show up all night. Be proactive though, and the chances of owing the club are very, very little.

Don't worry about it girl. All it takes is one customer to make the whole night. Just get your hustle up and approach as many people as possible for your first few nights. You'll learn how to tell the difference between the ones with money and the ones with bullshit real quick and then you'll be good to go. If you are concerned about owing the house before you leave, just take the cash with you so that those worries aren't on your mind while you're trying to work. Good luck!

I come to work every day w/ $100 in my wallet. This is more than enough to cover

    -house fee
-tipouts (I dont think the bouncers and dj should be punished just cuz I couldnt sell any dances)
-$ to pay for the feature(s) I might fail to sell
-cabfare to and from the club
    -lunch

Bringing $ to work works for me cuz I hate the insecurity that comes from feeling "broke" or not having cash on me (but keep it locked in yer locker or on your garter the whole shift!). Some clubs will let you "roll over" to the next day or til whenever, some want house fee the minute you walk in the door, some want it by the end of the night. Check with the individual club.

I danced for 4 years at a couple of total dives, and the least I EVER made amounted, after tipout, to about $10/hour. Which is super shitty, but I never left owing. That one night was a total outlier, anyway.
