9 dollars in commission is not worth your time to sit around talking for free.
If it was me I would give him a few minutes of conversation and a nice flirt and tell him you can come back later when he is ready. Tell him you would love to talk to him longer after finishing your first drink with him (fast) but you pay the club and it is currently cutting into your earnings.
70 percent of the time I get the dances sooner (at least 70) Or a tip to sit. If he tells me no then I know he is a time waster. I typically would only sit with a guy who I knew only had 60 more bucks If it was REALLY dead. If it's busy, move on.
Try to be a little more aggressive and see if it helps your percentages.

You meant to type $11 to bar and $9 to you right ?

There's really no telling, since she said small club, so the other $10 may go right into club owners pocket. I worked at a club like this and I was like well they have a good system. You either buy a dance or drink,$20 for both, or the girl can not sit longer than 5 mins and if you buy none you've been through all eleven girls in less than an hr and they avoid you like the plague. It wasn't until I found out we get $10 out of every $20 that I got pissed. I made a lot of $ at that club though between that and stage, but the big city stipper in me whispered in my ear every nite what my true total was.
I don't know how to tell you to get around it other than flat out telling the guy what the deal is and hoping he'll like you enough to do dances instead of buying the drinks. Perhaps you could steer more people towards your stage show and use tip rail as a sales point.Hope it helps.
Thank Goodness I smartened up! The old me is dead and gone.

hey ladies,
10 goes to the club, 1 goes to the bar , and i keep 9
I wouldn't sit for more than a song for $9 and wouldn't have them ever buy more than one ladies drink. $20 is freaking outrageous for his drink as well. I worked at a place like this in the past but the men's drinks were like $3-$6.
"I hear you calling and it's needles and pins. I wanna hurt you just to hear you screaming my name...You're poision. but I don't wanna break these chains.... I wanna love you but I'd better not touch."

Actually, a federal court ruled that it was illegal for a business to charge two different prices for the same drink ... depending on whether the customer was male or female. This is why the club must now charge the same $20 ... which is still ridiculous.$20 is freaking outrageous for his drink as well. I worked at a place like this in the past but the men's drinks were like $3-$6.

No its only 20 dollars for the ladies drinks. but the mens drinks are still pretty high, beers are 7 dollars, top shelf liquor is 10 bucks and up.
They served ladies drinks in different glasses, so it seems that most clubs should be able to get around that rule pretty easily. Or are they not allowed to charge different amounts for different sized drinks? (Although ours were a LOT smaller than the guys and served in these tiny little cute stemmed glasses that held maybe 2-3 oz.)

I've worked at a club with $20 drinks where we get $10.
If a customer wants to buy you a drink, let him. But don't sit and talk THROUGH that drink and then long enough to get another LOL.
If he wants to talk more than a song or two you need to take him in the back and charge him dance prices PER SONG to talk. Or if your club doesn't charge you per song in the back... at least sell him a $50 10 minute chunk of "private" time where you just talk in the back "so you won't be interrupted" or something.

Yeah you need to hustle sooner before he starts shellin' out money for drinks.
I think that isn't bad actually. I mean you get 9$ of a drink.. for all the times I drank with customers.. I wish I got 9$. Anyway, think of it as a half a dance comission, it's easy money. BUT keep it to a min. of 1 drink, take your time drinking it, and through-out conversation make sure he and you dont finish your drinks, and suggest to go for a few dances.
Also, does your club have an ATM? Every club does, you can always try to talk your way into him using his cards.
^^Taking your time finishing it may be a bad idea. It depends on your hustle, but I had a ton of RIL's and they were always under the impression that I was just one drink away from falling for them. One night I remember only selling like 5 dances but I sold 35 ladies drinks, most I got for myself (lazy waitresses) so I got a tip too! I made over $400 for drinking Diet Sprite and keeping myself hydrated! lol
