Hey ladies. I'm going to be auditioning at a new club soon and apparently there are no poles on the main stage. What do you...do...when there aren't any...poles? Any tips? I don't think this club allows floor work either.

Move verrrrry verrrrry slowly and basically just pose. Walk around all slinky with your hips, bend over and run your hands up and down your legs and the rest of your body, pause in front of customers and make lots of eve contact.
^ ditto. Lots and lots of posing. One move that I always think looks wicked sexy is stroking one leg up and down another. Like stand with your feet together, then take one leg and sort of slide it up your other leg. No one ever does it, but it's so classically sensual.

Walk around sexily, twirl, bend over and stroke your legs, arch your back, rub your hands over your body, stretch your arms above your head. There's a lot you can do. My club has a mini stage like that, where there's no pole and we're not supposed to do floor work.
Probably the best way to learn is to watch the other girls. : )
^Yes. Pay a visit to the club before your audition as a customer and just watch (and tip!) the girls on stage to pick up some ideas.
@ shanna dior: the club is a bit far from me and I have a full time school schedule, but time permitting, I'm going to hit it up on a busy night. thanks for the advice! I guess I just have to practice going pole-less. At my old club I had a tendency to scamper from pole to pole--never really got comfortable dancing without some kind of support.
@ firemaiden04: Cool move! I'll give it a try--thank you!
I wouldn't worry about visiting there beforehand unless you're really concerned about the clientele, club cleanliness, or club culture. You will be able to pick up stage moves very quickly upon being hired there...trust me!
And anyway, new girls aren't supposed to look like pros. Which everyone in this industry is well aware of! And this can actually work to your advantage...hellooooo newbie money!

Does the stage have anything else to hold on to? Like a lil staircase w/ rails? (like where the guy can walk up to the stage & tip & the girl walks down to him)
My club doesn't allow floorwork & very few girls actually do pole tricks (we do have a pole however). At various points we walk over to the lil staircases & hold onto the handrails & pose, bend over, flip hair, drop & shake ass, or whatever.
Remove clothes sensually, or do kinda a lil twirl while yer taking em off. Run your hands down your body (within limits of what's allowed). Smile, eye contact, all that good stuff.
Here is an interesting documentary that has clips scattered throughout with women dancing on a tiny stage with very few props to interact with. They're pretty creative!

I used to work at a club with no pole, just bars on the windows (it was a peepshow). Lots of eye contact and flirty moves, but also we would use the mirrors too for tricks or balance. One move I really like was to face the mirror, put your hands about shoulder level but about 1 ft from your shoulders, and kick on leg out to the side (parallel to the floor). It's a spunky sexy move.
Watch some burlesque clips on youtube, you may find some cool stuff!

My club has a part of the stage that we have to dance on with no "props" I pretty much just dance around slowly and sensually, arching my back bending over, lightly stroking my body.
It's all pretty easy to pick up, I wouldn't worry.
I take some rope and do some bondage. quick ties. let the mind wonder for what you can do.

Don't worry, you will get used to it. I have the worst balance ever and I managed to dance at a club without a pole and with no floor work, so I am sure you can too! I actually ended up preferring it because I didn't get bruises from hitting the pole and being on my knees on the floor.
Hopefully they have something you can use for stability! At my old club there were two large pillars at the front of the stage that you could hold on to and pose on. A stage with absolutely nothing to hold on to would scare me. Just go slow and pretend you are modelling underwear or something.
^^^ Yeah, I'm totally fine with the no floorwork clause. I always avoided the floor anyway because of body lotion smudges, etc. I have yet to see the stage, but I hope there's a railing or some poles or something! Thanks for the encouragement![]()
@charlie61: I can't get the video to load. I'll try to find it on another site or something, I really want to see it!
Follow up: I visited the club. There's a raised mirror section at the back of the stage and a staircase descending onto the main dance area, which is a smallish semi circular thrust stage. There are railings, and contrary to what I read, floor work is allowed. Visited on a Friday night before midnight. Customers and entertainers alike seemed to be having a good time. Very upscale, but looser costume restrictions than my last club, which makes me happy. Lots of hot girls. Now I just have to work up the courage to audition. eep.

Sigh* brings back memories of working at Cheeks in Santa Fe.....I wonder if they'll let me work....
