Default need help hiding the fact that I'm a stripper

so I recently just moved in with my aunt because it's been sooo slow at work and being in school now I can't really afford to pay rent and all of my bills. well the first couple weeks were fine and she never really brought up the subject of where I work. I told her I just work at a local bar (to explain the late hours) and left it at that.
well now she's starting to press me on the subject asking where I work, whom I work for, and the address and things like that in case of an emergency. she asked yesterday for the address and phone number of the bar I work at while I was on my way to class so I just casually was like "oh no problem. I'll write it down for you later I gotta head out right now"

if I gave her a number of some random bar I don't think she would go there or call the number but if I keep acting vague about where I work she's gonna start getting more suspicious.

    helppppp. what should I do?

do you have a friend who owns or works at a "regular" bar?
thats what some of my friends say they do...ask their friend to cover them if their families call.

or maybe you can be honest

I thought about telling my aunt but the way she talks about things like that I have a feeling she would throw me out of her house. she calls strip clubs "prostitute rings" and she's a diehard Catholic. I just need somewhere to stay until it picks up at my club and I can afford a place.

I don't know anyone who works at a regular bar either. most of my friends have retail jobs.

If it helps, she probably doesn't immediately expect that you're a stripper. The way many relatives often think is, "oh she keeps going off somewhere... I bet she has a secret boyfriend!". If you ever think she's onto you or something you can always use this to mix her up.

If you do get "laid off", you can always pick up a late night job "babysitting for a friend" too. Then the only person who she can call is you, and if you really want to mess with her, arrange an interaction with her and your "work", like dropping you off (at a friend's house) or take a picture of a friend's kid on your phone and show her the next morning "how cute the kids at work are!!!".

lol i have the exact same problem, except im living at home with my parents untill november. So i decided that im gonna tell them i got a job at an 18 and up (im only 18 ) gay club as a hostess.

you could try telling her that youre nannying for a friend of a friend and the kids parents got promoted, so now their always traveling and they need a night time nanny. give her the address of a super fancy house thats at least 45 mins away, and if she wants a number give her a friends who dosent have an answering machine. This story is hard to keep up with, so it helps if you write everything down. Its the most beleiveable thing when you tell it right

My parents google me and where I work, so I always have to have a good cover story. Every now and then I mention doing stock check in the bar I supposedly work in, so if they ever want to come in I can say 'its stock check week' and when we're out I wave to big guys I know and say 'Thats Greg, he's on the entrance, I guess it must be his night off too!'

I said that I worked in catering. That way the venue is always changing. If you use a big company as your front, you can say that you never know what supervisor will be in charge until you get there. This only works if she doesn't know anyone in catering, or any actors (lots of actors and artists work for catering companies).
You could even call a catering company and work a couple of shifts, so you wouldn't entirely be lying.

Why not say that you have a really horrible strict manager at the bar, and tell a story about a co-worker being yelled at/fired/suspended for a friend/family member calling in to ask her about something/tell her something important. Then that the manager sat everyone down and said that the bar phone number shouldn't be given out to anyone, that they don't want friends or family visiting or people calling, and emergencies should go to personal phones. If you worked in a bar, you would legally get a break every two hours, so say that you have been told that being able to check your phone every two hours is enough, and you are NOT supposed to give out the staff phone number.

Then you can tell her that you are really worried about breaking the rules, and so don't want to give her the number. Give her the name of a bar that there are a bunch of - either a chain or a common name. If you've done a big thing about not having visitors, she shouldn't come in.

Of course, the other option is to tell her that you work at the club, but as a server or door girl. This is a lot easier - no one covering, no big lies, and she actually CAN get hold of you in an emergency. Of course, if she is a die-hard Catholic, she may not be too happy, but you could probably explain that it is just like any other serving job, and that you couldn't find anything else and needed the money. You can then also say that you originally lied because you didn't want to disapoint her. You might be surprised at how understanding she is!

    Good luck!
