Default Anyone use menstrual cups during work?

Just wondering if they would be worth buying, as they are slightly expensive ($10 for 24 cups) how do they feel? Is penetration still obtainable? I read the reviews on instead cups from drugstore.com and they seem to be highly recommended, I just don't know about the ability of still being able to perform. Plus, it says they have no string, which I can just imagine how messy it could become.. Just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with something like this? Thanks

I worked in vegas at sheris ranch ( brothel) and some girls used sea sponges while they were on their period, but me and a lot of other girls used those round foam makeup sponges u get like 12 or a $1 and they work great honestly.. ive never had a problem. I personally wouldnt buy those cups but if ur more comfortable with them go ahead, i know soem girls worried about them getting 'lost' inside of them but i've never acually seen that happen

Insteads are just not the business. They are supposed to fit perfectly, but since they are not sized just for you like a diaphragm, they often move and shift. It is really disgusting when in the middle of sex you feel something hot, warm and sticky and realize it is blood and its all over everything. This happened to me. I was at a cut buddy's house and to this day he does not know. He was so drunk and it was dark. I go in bathroom to wash up afterwards and I'm like wtf is on that towel? Aw, hell naw. He's like come on I need to get in there. I do a little geisha routine and tell him because he was so good I'll clean him up. I take bloody condom off in dark and dispose of in bathroom and then get a dark brown towel to wash him up with. Then have to give this guy a candle lit jacuzzi bath to get it off of him. Then talk him into letting me put fresh sheets on bed since he made me cum all over them. He was not my bf and that is too much damn work for a good bang. I will never use an Instead or similar device again. More trouble than they are worth. Stick with sponges and you will never go wrong.
Thank Goodness I smartened up! The old me is dead and gone.

I use the Instead cups. On the whole, they work great for camming. They provide a nice, tight barrier and they stay in place.

If you dislodge it, you'll get a tidal wave, so when I'm using one, I'm just careful with penetration. I wouldn't wear one during sex because I'm not controlling how hard or deep the penetration is. But for camming, I can definitely use toys while I'm using a cup - I'm just a little more careful than I am when I'm not on my period.

And they're messy as hell when you remove them, but that's no big deal.

Instead cups are fine for camming, but in my experience are really really bad for sex even though they say they are fine for it. I have moved on to gynotex sponge tampons because instead cups are less comfortable, but yes, instead cups definitely work and you can get away with only using one per camming day so not that expensive when you think that otherwise you would be changing the level of your shows.

I second (or third) the sea sponge. I've used them for sex, or even accidentally when I masturbated (forgetting I had it in) and it worked really well. Not so great if you're doing a squirt show, but oh well

I don't have anything positive to contribute about Instead cups, because I had a horrible experience with them. I followed the instructions as best as I could, and they never lasted the full 12 hours for me (lasted maybe half of that time) and got stuck. The instructions even say that you have to get into a position to "bear down" and push to get it out. Sorry, but that's way too much sweating for me.

I got rid of them after having to go to the E.R. (one got stuck). The doctors were all like "OMG, what is this product called? We've never heard of it before...where did you get this???" LOL. It only took a couple minutes for the dr. to remove it, but I got a bill in the mail for like $200 for that.

A lot of cam girls seem to like it though, so at least others have had a better experience with it. Good luck!

Ohmygoodness.. excuse my language here, but that fucking sucks! I would be absolutely horrified if I had to go to the ER to remove anything out of my vajayjay. I have medical insurance so no worries there but I'm also not getting into a labor position just to get a menstrual aid out of there, either. lol I think I will surely be trying the sponges..

Yeah, back then I had to pay for something like that out of pocket. And I was pretty annoyed that I spent my money on that product strictly for camming purposes, and ended up having to pay out of pocket to have that shit removed. I remember the doctor saying not to worry because my bill won't be much at all. Uh, $200 (I think it was $243) is considered "not much at all???"

And the only time I plan on getting into "labor position" like that is when I'm actually having more babies.

Yes, I completely agree that menstrual cups are the safest and most comfortable way of having menstruation protection. It becomes easy to do all the physical activities during periods as well with the help of menstrual cups.

I know this is an old thread, but for information's sake, If you tie a string around the sea sponge (or latex free sponge, insert it sideways, and stuff the string back up in there, it helps when you need to pull it out. Still difficult though. I can't use the cups because they are uncomfortable for me...

I love sea sponges. I've been using alternative menstrual products (diva cups, glad rags, sea sponges) for a decade or so and I absolutely refuse to use a Tampax or Kotex or any of that nasty stuff.

Occasionally, I've had issues removing the sponge, but it's usually because my flow is so light that it barely absorbs into the sponge (which I think makes it harder to remove), and then if I'm aroused, my natural lubrication will make it almost impossible to get a grip on the thing (it's too thick to absorb into the sponge itself like blood does, ime). I've never had to ask for assistance, but I've come close. I have teeny little stubby fingers though. Still, sea sponges are my favorite method of all time.

I use the softcup every month. When I first started working, though, this girl told me to use a makeup sponge. She made it look so easy, and she showed me how "easy" it was to take it out. Well, come my first cycle during my escort work, I decided to try the makeup sponge-thing, since I did not even know that the menstrual cup existed. Well, I put the sponge in, it worked great, until it was time to take it out. I sat on the toilet crying for hours Bc I just couldn't get the damn thing out! She even tried to get it out for me, saying, "don't ever say that I'm not a good friend/that I didn't do anything for you"(as she had her fingers in me trying to figure out how to get the stupid thing out. But even she, the sponge pro, couldn't get it. I finally broke down and went to the emergency room. Imagine how awkward it was having to explain that at the hospital. I told them that I didn't have a pad or tampon so I was told that I could use a makeup sponge. Yeah...so unless you are 100% sure that you will be able to get it out, I do not recommend using a sponge!

The softcup, however, can be great if you put it in correctly. Just make sure that you point and push it toward your tailbone, or else it will not work. i always take a shower and wash off, then insert the cup, and then chill for 30 minutes to let it form to suit your shape(body warmth makes it sort of warp to your shape and seals it to prevent leakage), then sit on a towel and check to see if you are all good and not leaking. Just make sure not to insert it straight up into your vagina, you want to push it kind of parallel with the floor towards your tail bone as much as possible. You will know that it is in place because you can push it until it sort of hooks around your cervix.

During your call, do NOT let any guy stick his fingers in your vagina while the cup is in. He may accidentally tip your cup and make a huge mess. If it is not inserted correctly, it will also spill during sex. Up until recently mastering the cup, I had this problem quite a few times. Lost a regular client because of it, but he was a cheap jerk anyways, haha! Otherwise, the cup works great even on heavy days! You can't really feel it while your wearing it, but you can feel it during sex being pushed against. And I have had guys ask me what it was inside me. But no biggie. Plus it is super easy to take out! It can be messy, but wash your hands, of course. Hahaha.

I've used the Diva Cup a few times. It worked well, but oddly enough, I could never get it to sit properly on my first, heaviest day, and without fail, I would leak, even though it wasn't anywhere near full. But, on all other days, it was great.

What are these sea sponge things you ladies speak of? Where do I find those in Toronto? Do I just walk into the drug store and ask for the 'sea sponge' section? :|

Buy sea sponges for mega cheap on amazon: http://smile.amazon.com/Natural-Sea-...6114736&sr=8-1

If you can get if for cheap in your country, there is the Beppy or Gynotex!

Hey Ami, you can get sea sponges from most Shopper's, on the rack with the standard makeup sponges. There are two brands, quo and joe fresh. Quo is better since the sponges are generally bigger and also more dense. I use up to 4 of the quo or up to 5 of the joe fresh. It's important to disinfect them too, or there's risk of infection. I boil water for 20 minutes, let the water cool a bit, add a couple drops of tea tree oil then soak the sponges for an hour. Just give then a squeeze and they're ready to use. It takes a little practice to get them out, but if you have practice with the diva cup it probably won't be difficult for you. Also make sure to use lube because the sponges absorb all moisture.

Personally, I like to take my period off, but sometimes my period comes early and I don't want to do last minute cancellations. I also take them out as soon as I finish.

i would never dream of using the cup. like some girls say you can have accidents, or the client will notice. use sponges. there is no way they will be able to tell.

A word of advice: don't use menstrual cups/Instead cup if you have a tilted cervix like I do. It was awful and I had to have it removed by a medical professional. That's definitely not anything that I wish to go through again. I have a non-sw friend who swears by them for having sex with her squeamish bf during her periods. She said he never has any clue that she's on her period when having sex with an instead cup in. After my negative experience with them I don't want to try one ever again. I have heard of the sea sponge and makeup sponge trick. Allegedly men can't feel them and they hide your period so they won't know. I've heard of using red colored condoms during that time too so that just in case any blood does happen to leak through the sponge, it won't be as apparent.

My cervix is slightly to the left, but I'm not certain if that's the same thing as tilted.
Red condoms though lol I like that advice.

Wow, you had the same experience as me (see my above post from 2011). Maybe a tilted uterus (I hear that phrase used more often than "tilted cervix") is why I had such an awful experience with the Instead cups. And sex always hurts for me the first few seconds or so (doggystyle seems to be the position that works best for me, and feels best).

That's so unfortunate! Have you asked your gyno about this?
