I will continue to find my true passions in life. Stripping allows me to obtain my freedom by working when I FEEL like working. We as exotic dancers have the power, and more often than not the money, to find out what it is in life that truly makes us happy. Whether it be travel, further education, spirituality, spending quality time with your family, etc., we are capable of accomplishing goals, dreams, special interests and the like because we aren't necessarily tied down to a "regular" job. I believe as independent contractors we have the opportunity to live AND work rather than work to live like the majority of of the population.

I've realized that subjects I was interested in as a child are now resurfacing. Also, I've recently been getting into photography, Ayurveda and books by Paulo Coelho. I am also creating a travel fund as well.

I'm sure this was already covered, but has anyone else accomplished goals or ambitions that they owe to dancing?

I totally agree with this. I practically lived at my old job waitressing and barely had anytime to enjoying hanging out with friends and what not.

When I moved states, I spent 4 whole months worrying about how I'm going to be able to pay for my school, rent, food, bills, etc. I wasted so much time applying for jobs while at the same time managing every dollar I had left to make sure I could pay for things i absolutely needed. I wouldn't even pay 5 or 10 dollars to go out with my friends because I was so worried I wouldn't have enough money for other things. I'm so thankful to be able to dance now and NOT have to worry about money all the time. For me, I feel like that's motivation enough.

Right now I'm working on paying back my dad 2k which he lent me for a fraction of my tuition. Knowing that i'll be able to pay him back soon is just such a great feeling

Dancing is such a blessing and the fact that you can't do it forever should be motivation enough. Whatever financial trouble you get into, even once you are done dancing, you can always go back and dig yourself out by working at the club. But once ou are in your 50s, you won't have this.

Save money, start your own business one day with your dancing earnings!

The more money I make... the more I can stash away in my "Freedom Fund"... and the sooner I can divorce my husband!!!

Last night I made $400! (not bad for a Tuesday) I told my husband I only made $300 and I hid the other $100 in my Eat, Pray, Love book ; )

My new motivation trick is to set a goal for how many nights to work in a week, and then a reward that I get if I work them all! Little things like a pedi, massage, new pair of shoes...always around $100...just started, so I'll let you know how it goes!
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.

I have been a 9 to 5 student for the past two years with no time for a job, just living off my savings. I'm tired of worrying about every dollar I spend and what I will do when my savings dry up and trying to get a job when I graduate. I can't wait to start dancing again so I can save up some money and start paying off my loans--without depriving myself of fun!

I will work 3 shifts a week, even though I'd rather be spending the evenings with my BF. I LOVE that man to death, but this is MY LIFE. 100$ every shift will go into the "responsible money" fund, unless I make more than 300$. After 300, that will also go into the "responsible money" fund. Any other moo-lah I get from freelance jobs, selling things, or if I get a part time clothed job will be split half and half between the "responsible money" fund and the "I can do whatever the fuck I want with this" fund. I will work a friday/saturday every week unless I'm out of town. At least two weekend nights a month. I will not buy new makeup items until my 19th b-day in March. I will not go to the club when I'm heavy on my period. I will take that time to eat cookies and pamper myself. I will give my boyfriend mind-blowing sex at least once a week, and "good" sex as often as I can. I will make him dinners and love him like he deserves.

my goal is to just save up a LOT of money. like...10 grand. it's a slow process because I make anywhere between 150-400 at work it REALLY varies, but I put away at least half of what I make into savings that I don't touch. I want to go on a big vacation at the end of the summer and have money left over to not have to worry about much when I get home.

Me too! I ant to save up 10 grand and either put it in an account with compounded interest for a year or a few years or invest it.

I don't know about you all but stay away from the computer! It's the devil when you are getting ready for work. Instead of going to work, I find myself continuing to browse the net watching the time tick by, until I'm like "Meh, it's too late anyways. The house fees will be more, I won't make much money, the late night crowd is F'ing annoying and full of frat boys....etc."

^ I don't blame you, sweetie. I could only ever work a maximum of 3 nights a week, and that was in my first year of stripping (the honeymoon phase). Being a full time student + stripping is really difficult.

It's easy to say "Just go in every day this week and kick ass, girl!" and actually having to put the time in, deal with the customers, etc.

My goal this weekend is to bring back $4,000.

I'm trying to save up at least $50,000 to open a business within the next two years. I've started to look at specific locations and the legality surrounding the type of business I wish to open. After opening a business, I still plan on dancing for extra money. I also want to buy a house which I could do as of now but I feel like I have too many ambitions in life right now to settle myself into one location. Although property is an asset regardless of whether I live there or not; I'm debating whether the $80K+ that I'd invest in it would be feasible at this time.

i used to work 5 days in my first year and since i started in season, i thought money was always gonna be good so i spent it.
    im worried coz
    1. my uni, as opposed to regular unis which have average 18 hr weeks, we have 45
    2. i spoke to some final year students who said they spent about 4k on their graduate collection on fabrics n shit.

the school doesnt cover ANY expense, i still havent paid my deposit and art kit and now also gave me a list of shit to buy by next week plus i havent paid for my locked and IM OUT OF CIGARETTES.

i dont know how girls who are not strippers do this course. oh yeah i forget, daddy's credit card.

im going in tonight and i fat out refuse to come back with less than at LEAST 500

sorry just needed somewhere to vent.
    i srsly need a miracle

^i think we both need to carefully roster in work school balance realistically, and stick to it. i normally bite off more than i can chew so mine would prob look like 'of course i will work 6 nights in a row during assessment period and do my essays in the DR when the club is quiet'
