Knowing I can drive to the beach in 30 seconds.
Having the mailman, ups, fed ex guy give me a hug when they see me. ( yes I really have fatal attraction where I live for some reason, but atleast it means NEW STUFFF!!!) HEHEHE
I'm not going to even go into my skin care purchases. That's just way too much to list, but someone seemed like they had it covered above.
Having money and saying wait.... ooh I paid everything what do I do with this. This has only happened a few times . I'm behind in bills so I'm getting my behind infront of those bills. lol
Getting toys for my cat knowing that he will never use them and prefers bottle caps and the most expensive stuff to play with. Gotta love him, he's always watching out for me
*** Checking out that new squirting toy... thank you for that post btw!!!***
Also sitting on here reading posts instead of taking calls or getting on cam. Nothing feels better then feeling like you can pass on work for a few more hours Thank you Ladies and Respectful Gents for your posts here and colorful responses!!!!

This is a great thread idea! I've read every response and I love them all. Notice how none of us are saying "Two new luxury car's and a new condo!" or anything super ridiculous like that? It really comes down to the simple things....

I've been really sick lately, and being able to buy a lot of non-necessities that make me more comfortable is really making me feel spoiled. A lot of all-organic herbal supplements - which really add up - and tonight I picked up some pricey all organic ginger tea to help settle my stomach. It's a good feeling when you can buy those things without worrying about your bank account - make me feel like I'm living pretty high off the hog! In reality I'm pretty conservative with my spending.....

I'm going to +1 to everyone who said buying good food (Olive oil/fish/cheeses etc). When you can get what you want at the grocery store without stress, you always feel like a Queen. Haha!

LOL, funny, I couldn't really afford to shop their all the time when I was married and grocery shopping for a family of three. As a single person I can.
Aside from the improved food quality the improved quality of people watching at WF is just priceless! All those Lexus's (Lexi?) in the parking lot next to my little Nissan definitely make me feel "expensive"!

Now that I come to think of it, there are a few things worth mentioning:

When I work out of town, I live in places that are a cross between hotels and apartments. They have maids who come and clean my apartment. It makes me feel I am living expensively. Also, I do not know how to cook so I mostly eat out when I am out of town. That too makes me feel like I am living expensively.

Flying first class, eating @ the bar alone at a 5 star restaurant, dining al fresco, staying at any resort that greets you with a cocktail upon arrival, getting a mani and pedi at the same time, Panna water.

    This is a fun thread!

    - Designer perfumes
    - Spontaneous Day Trips
    - Seafood dinners (home made especially!)
    - Drinking wine
    - Frappacinos
    - My weekly home "spa" routine with bath salts and a fresh mani/pedi
    - Dinner & a movie dates
    - Pencil Skirts
    - When I do "full-face" and it comes out looking pro. :3
    - Window-shopping at Bed, Bath, & Beyond/Furniture stores for decor ideas
    - Brewing my tea in a teapot
    - Foot massages
    - Fresh produce
    - Putting the on-site gym my complex has to use
    - Netflix XD
    - Seconded on using chop sticks. Even the crappy break-apart wooden ones make me feel "refined", lol.

    ...and I think that's it.

Starbucks (Grande iced black tea w/ 6 pumps. mmmm)
    A new dress
A perfect pair of black heels
When my curls come out just right because of my new conditioner
    Delicate, expensive tea
A super giant bottle of vodka in my freezer (Usually the only thing in my freezer...)
    Splurging at Teavana
SugarFish (In the LA area. GO THERE)
Dining at any of the top chef people's restaurants.
Being able to watch ANTM marathons and not feeling guilty.
    Being driven instead of driving.
A nice, cherished cigar and the company of 5 or 6 middle aged republicans/libertarians.
    Cognac
Buying an oz of amazing Cali-bud (Medical, of course. I would never do anything illegal.)
    Making eggs benedict
    Cooking with truffles
    Buying specialty olive oil
Riding in a Maybach (The Yacht of the highway)
Going to Sephora, finding my lovely MUA, giving her a budget and a goal and telling her to go to!
On that note, going to a nice restaurant, giving the waiter a budget and asking them to decide.

    Ah, materialism.

ooooooh i LOVE this. I bought a bigger bed, and bought all new sheets and pillows to go on it, i love having my bed look nice, rather than have whatever blanket happened to be clean at the time.

-a cheap duvet + different duvet covers for different seasons
-lamps. oh man, i love lamps. (my favorite is a nice floor lamp with a tiny table attached, $39 @ target!!)
-and having jewelry to match every outfit. I shop the outlet malls and the clearance sections, and am able to match most things perfectly.
-it's been mentioned before, but wine. I love wine.

    - Clean white sheets
    - Morning sun on a clean apartment
    - Gourmet food
    - A nice car that's always clean
    - Going out to lunch/brunch!!! Which no one I know ever seems to be willing to do
    - Getting my hair professionally done...even though most of the time I do it better myself
    - Status handbags
    - Starbucks runs
    - Central air on full blast on a hot summer day
    - Watching movies on rainy summer nights

lol the last two are so strange...

Oh, and wine/champagne on my bedside table, with a gorgeous dressing gown to walk around the house in.

Oh, AND making all my shopping lists on furniture, clothes, and makeup stores for when I finally get my own place(':

Exactly! Yes, this is what I originally had in mind for the thread. Stuff that isn't that expensive that makes you feel like you're living expensively.

What makes me feel like I'm living expensively? Paying my bills, LMAO! Or rather, realizing how much money has gone through our fingers in the last month and STRUGGLING to pay the bills sometimes. Grr.

Which brings us to those things that make it so we sometimes struggle to pay the bills...

Finally owning my own home - it's not lavish, but it's BRAND new, with TONS of extra cool stuff, and it ain't a little starter house.

Furnishing said house with shit that matches and has a theme and was bought new, instead of what I could find 'cuz I need something to sit on, lol. And watching a big ass hi-def TV while sitting on it.

Racing my car every few weekends. I spend more money on tires than most people spend on car payments.

Designer clothes. Oddly, I like to buy these on the cheap even when I'm flush. I have a favorite consignment shop and I wish I could spend a LOT more money there, lol.

Going out in said clothes to a nice spot with my girls on my arms. The other people don't know if I'm loaded or not, but they recognize Armani, Ferregamo, Calvin Klein, Guess, Movado, etc - and the two "accessories" sitting to either side of me (I do NOT think of them as such, but I'm cognizant of the image we portray) mean that you might be worth ten figures, but right now you wish you were me.

Being a regular at a couple of cool joints. And not a "they know us when we walk in the door" regular, but a "you weren't here two days in a row and we got worried" regular, lol. A the new security guy goes to check our ID's and I glare at him and we all walk past and he starts to say something and follow us in and the owner tells him to leave us the fuck alone regular.

Watching the girls spend several hundred dollars between them and essentially take over the salon for a couple hours getting their hair/nails/whatever done. Watching the owner brighten up and greet them all by name and start clearing appointments when they walk in unannounced.

I'm with Yoda on the thread count thing. Add to that King size beds in general - especially pillowtop pocket spring ones (I don't like Tempur-like or air mattresses). Having to scootch over a foot or two to be able to climb out of the bed because there's that damned much of it always feels lavish.

Gambling away a few bucks, or a few hundred bucks, and realizing that as stupid as that was, it didn't dent the pocketbook. Almost as good as winning a grand - and realizing the same thing, lol.

Having conversations with people about six and seven figure investments and business plans and nobody at the table is batting an eyelash.

And I don't even want to get started on eating out. It'll make me cry if I add that up mentally... Add to that the girls skin and hair care products... I think we could open a salon with the stuff they DON'T get around to using, lol. And two of the are OBSESSED with Villainess, which doesn't even serve much of a purpose in the CARE department, lol.

    Hmmm:

a good romantic novel(two new ones a month)
walking in the store with my mom and buying her whatever she desires
being able to send my sister money
ability to pay my bills every month...on time
ordering pizza every friday night for my younger siblings
financially volunteering for senior citizen homes
helping my mom provide for my younger siblings
good smelling lotion/bodywash from bath & bodyworks
paying my neighbors' kids to wash my car(when they ask)
buying girl/boy scout cookies whenever I run into them
    adopting-a-child every Christmas
buying very nice gifts on holidays, gifts that I would never even buy for myself

    I guess I just don't feel like I'm living expensive,unless I'm helping others

I really respect your generosity. I'm generous with my time, but not with my money. I'm extremely stingey when it comes to buying myself anything, so giving away money just doesn't fly with me. But I respect it in other people!!

Oh - how could I forget!

Overtipping like a sunuvabitch, lol. I love leaving huge tips for regular bartenders, waitresses, etc, or for good service from someone I don't know. I hate it when I don't have enough cash to tip heavily (if they deserve it).
