Default Skype, What's the Best Approach?

Alright, I'm on MFC and I'm going to break down and set up a skype because people will not leave me alone about it! Now, my next question is how you guys handle your skype name. Do you use your camming name so you're easy to find? Or do you go with some random secret name and then give it out? Will guys bug the crap out of me if they can find me easily? Or is it better for business? It says you can't change it, so I don't want to go that route and then have to delete it and start over with a new email if it is better to go under the radar. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I haven't signed up with skype IRL so I have no idea what to expect. Thoughts?

mine is similar to my camming name
you have to 'accept' people to your skype (same as with yahoo etc) for them to be able to talk to you so you can choose who to accept. Also, you can always remove/block the pests. Just make sure not to display any personal info because it's quite easy to do with skype!

    Thanks, Becky!

I will probably do that, then. Since I've never used it before, I am kind of in the dark as to which way to go, but maybe people trying to track me down using my cam name isn't the worst thing hee hee. I will absolutely be careful about my private info, tho. Crazy scary to imagine that getting out!

When you add someone to your contact list in Skype as a friend they can then see all your personal information you used when setting up the program so don't add any you don't want to share. One caution with skype is that people are able to easily record your call using readily available software like powergramo or pamela or if on a mac a combination of shareware would work. You might want to run manycams software and set a teeny tiny copywrite tag into the video bottom this discourages guys recording and posting.

What's so great about Skype that guys want you to do a show on there, instead of just taking you private on MFC? Is it so they can easily record the show?

Well one thing, if you're on MFC and I offered you $4 a minute for a Skype private (you make $3 now) you'd take it right? And guess what? I pay $4.80 MINIMUM on MFC is I buy HHUNDREDS of dollars worth of tokens, and normally will pay $6 a minute at the lower amount....so I get $2 off per minute...and you still get paid MORE.

    Not too shabby...

Yeah that does make sense. But apparently the new MFC rules state that you're not allowed to accept tokens for offsite shows. I am not sure if they are actually enforcing that rule, but just be careful if you are offering it.

You ARE allowed to give out your Yahoo or Skype name to whoever you choose, and then what you do after that on Yahoo or Skype, is your business....

    They recently changed it.

MyFreeCams.com allows the exchange of any kind of information between models and members, including e-mails, online messenger screen names; however, this information MAY NOT be used to provide webcam shows or receive payment outside of the website.

Like I said, I don't know if they will enforce this, since they don't seem to enforce much else. I would just hate for someone on here to get in trouble for raffling off a Skype show or something.

Lol, I wouldn't worry it about it. MFC has become a free-for-all. They're not going to ding you for accepting skype shows.

But (here's comes the cynic), Skype shows are not in your favor, from the customers point of view. They do it for themselves and the majority want to use paypal. Why doesn't paypal allow adult services? Because of the high number of shesity mofos that issue charge backs. So A.) Get your money upfront! and B.) Use AlertPay.
