    Default Webcam issues Please help

I just upgraded to a logitech C910 webcam, and was super excited to try it out, (been using a c310 lol) but for some reason my computer cant detect it. I have tried rebooting, and uninstalling and reinstalling all the software, and google'd for an hour but I still cant get it to show up or figure out whats wrong. I use windows 7 64xbit btw. So since I know a lot of you gal's use/have used the C910 I was hoping someone might have some insight on what I am doing wrong. (If I cant figure it out I guess I'll just have to return it, but I hate dealing with returning things I bought online) Anyway thanks for any help!

    hrm
I'd uninstall all the software again and also make sure you have uninstalled the software for your old camera.
then go to the logitech site and the support page
you will then be asked to put in the camera model and will be directed to the latest drivers (which do work for 64bit). Hopefully that will work.

I have a windows 7 64 bit too and the 910. I have found that every so often, it just stops working & won't shut off, so I have to uninstall it and I've been re-installing it off their website (full version). I'm not convinced it's 100% compatible yet with Windows 7, but it's working ok so far.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions, after a bunch of research, and more installing and such I think it is just defective or broken, since the computer acts as if nothing is ever plugged in, it should at least read as a usb device. So I guess i'll just return it, hopefully the replacement dosent take too long to ship T_T But thanks again for the advice

Yeah, the computer should recognize it. Hopefully its not an issue with that particular USB port. I'd try a different cam, or same one just new one. The Logitech 9000 is great too.

Yeah I have my older cam and the usb port works fine, i tried the new c910 on my mothers computer and it still showed that no device was plugged in so its just a dud. Lol just my luck, gonna take a few weeks to deal with returning since i got it online. But at least I know its not my computer or anything, thats a relief I hate fixing computer stuff.

I have the C910 but not on Windows 7. It is a very finicky device and if I knew that, I probably wouldn't have asked for it (I got is a gift)... Don't get me wrong - it's got GREATTTTT quality but there are more problems w/ this camera than there are benefits. It also looooves to auto-focus at the worst times so you always have to make sure to click auto-focus off.

And even if you turn auto-focus off, the focus sliding bar has a mind of its own and will go all blurry for no reason. I have a 9000 lying around for a back-up, but the 910 takes crisper, clearer pictures and videos.

I also have Windows 7 and the Logitech HD C910 cam, and am very happy with it. I only wish I had gotten an HD cam a lot sooner...it's such a big difference.

I've always gone with Logitech cams, because I feel like Logitech is a name I can trust (I sound like I'm on a commercial...lol). I hope you get this issue solved soon.
