I don't see how its prevalent enough to encumber business in the state.

These people need less time on their hands and more important matters to focus on. If they pay taxes and bring tourists who spend money which goes into the local economy what are they complaining about? They can't say they spread disease because of mandatory health checks so what is the real issue? Did someone need a way to draw attention to themself because they didn't feel important enough in politics or what?
Thank Goodness I smartened up! The old me is dead and gone.

Any government-sponsored "War On ___" never achieves victory because it's mostly a hype-machine for a politician to further their career (War On Drugs, War On Poverty, War On Terror).

The Nevada counties which still allow legal brothels can decide for themselves to outlaw them or severely limit where within the county those brothels can operate. They want to keep the federal government out of their business and will surely fight attempts to declare the brothels illegal. I would venture to guess that the majority of visitors to legal brothels are tourists who take a taxi or rent a car and drive to them. The reason illegal prostitution thrives in Las Vegas is because most people won't drive all the way out to Pahrump in Nye County where prostitution is legal. There are also many tourists who erroneously believe prostitution is legal in Vegas (Clark County).

I think Harry Reid should redirect his efforts and push-through a major public works project to build a solar-powered de-sal plant on the Pacific Ocean and pipe the water the four-to-five-hundred miles (not very long as pipe-lines go) to the Lake Mead reservoir. Southern Nevada will never be self-sufficient for water and is running out quickly.

wow thats crazy, I worked in nevada a two different brothels and they were both suprising clean and safe.. and i never made 15,000 in 2 weeks dancing so i cant complain, i cant leave pa right now because of family stuff and not sure if i would go back, it's very draining to say the least. It absolutley brings tourists and money to the state though

I don't think I could have said it any better. Nevada is a wonderfully friendly business state, and needs some work in other areas.

Alas the population increase in Nevada in the last few decades has had a hefty component of folks from elsewhere who are not exactly in tune with how traditional frontier doing-your-own-thing means there'll be things you like and things you don't and you let the other guy do his thing even if you disapprove, so long as he does not do it in your property and it does not break your bones or pick your pocket.

From their POV they may prefer Nevada's reputation for "sin" to be, how shall we put it, a respectable "air dance", lest people think they condone such goings on by their mere residence in such a state. (And of course, Think Of The Children, because God forbid, if they find out about this all the boys and their fathers will choose to become mongers, and all the girls to become whores, of course.) These folks tend to concentrate around the two urban centers (Vegas & Reno) where brothels are not allowed (but tricks are turned) anyway, and they're prime pander fodder for the likes of Harry (but, geez, he just got reelected to a 6 year term, what need has he?).

(Remember how the powers that be spent a decade trying to sell Vegas as a "Family" destinaton? Only when they realized the families were not showing up as expected did they go back to "what happens here stays here"... I think some people may still be sore about that)

Not that I believe Harry's wackaroon opponent from this last time around would have been so less likely to go for something pointless like this. Sometimes the lesser of two evils is not that much lesser.
