I get it maybe twice a year. Mine is due to crystals in my inner ear canal. It sucks and can last for a month or so. It's fairly common and usually goes away on it's own but in the meantime I have issues with putting my head back, turning to fast, etc.

Also Bonine helps - same with Dramamine, but that can make you very drowsy. Those you can get at any store. There are also exercises you can do for it. Search under Positional Vertigo.

I now take these sub-lingual tablets I get from the health food store called Cocculus Indicus and they work well ~ gets me back to 99%.

You should see your doc again and let him know to make sure though.

I've been dealing with this for 3 weeks. If I turn a certain way I feel like Iam in an elevator or a roller coaster and its dropping. The sensations are like in my chest, legs the back, it's weird and hard to understand but I am supposed to be leaving to go on a work trip for 3 weeks and I don't even know if I can work in this condition. It's happened to me before but not all day everyday, I would get the sensation maybe a couple times a week but this is constant. My bllod work came back ok so it's either an iner ear thing or I was thinking blood pressure( though they said that was fine. I don't know what to do when I get the sensation I get extreme anxiety and feel like Iam going to faint and my legs feel off with this condition. I read if its inner ear ginko biloba can help so I've started that a few days ago. They also say it's extremely hard to diagnose.

Hey michele yea I get that falling senstion too I worked yesterday for the first time and I was getting some of the feelings of vertigo still it sucked! It also gave me alot of anxiety like "god I hope I don't fall over, or I hope I'm not doing anything to make it worse" I tried to take it easy all day but that didn't help either. I haven't done the rolling tho I did a method, can't remember the exact name it's something method.

U sit up straight for 30 seconds,
then lay on ur back with ur head facing the problem ear for 30 seconds,
then turn ur head to the other side for 30sec
then turn on ur side on the side ur head is facing so ur nose is facing down in ur pillow,
then finish by sittin up for 30 seconds.

Ur supposed to repeat this whole process 2 more times and apparently it also hhelps for morning sickness.

Wouldn't you know it, I am now suffering a bout of this. Had it for two weeks now, which is not unusual with this shit.

I can tell you all about it, or rather, how much it sucks to have it. When it gets really bad, you can't do anything but lay in bed and try not to move (your head especially).

I used to get this a lot when I was in my mid-20s. I got it 5 times in one year! Several times a year for the next couple. Then once in a while. I think it's stress-related, but not due to stress alone but a weakness or susceptibility in the ears. Or it seemed to be in my case, anyway. Once I figured that out, I got it way less.

The only thing I ever found that did a thing was taking the strongest psuedoephedrine (common in cold medicines) tablets available--you have to get them from the pharmacy and show your license, but no prescription required (I got Wal-Phed from Walgreens, 12 hour tablets). It really helps! Thanks to BoxingDoc for that bit of useful advice. I had it for a little while a couple years ago and that made it go away very quickly. Whatever reduces nasal swelling seems to reduce swelling in the inner ear.

Never, ever fly with this!!!! It will cause excruciating agony, make it way worse, and possibly damage your hearing.

I will try the exercises, thanks!!

^ Yeah I did fly about 3 weeks ago. I get intense pain in my right air and need to apply pressure to my air when they start to desend and until they land. It doesn't happen always but most of the time. I bought that herb mentioned above and took it once. It actually made me feel worse, today was the best I've felt in weeks, so know I am scared to take it. Ugh hope this dissipates soon!

Oh man I flew a few times and it was horrible. One time it hurt so bad I was literally crying tears of pain. I asked the stewardess if there was something she could give me. Instead of giving me even a fucking aspirin she sternly informed me that I should never have flown with any sort of ear problem. Thanks a lot lol!

It's weird being at work, the music sounds all wrong, I have to ask people to repeat themselves, etc. But it's starting to get better tonight--or maybe I'm just getting used to it. Still, I will be glad to get home, and even gladder after I am finished tomorrow night!

Oh I heard it's not a good idea to sleep too much when you have this. Which makes sense (other than when you have it so bad, as I have several times, when all you can do is lay there ). My natural inclination when I am sick is to go to bed and stay there. But with this I used to reach the point where I was so tired of laying in bed I would say fuck it and start doing things even if it meant lurchung and staggering around. And usually it would start getting better slowly at that point. Too bad I didn't figure that out back when I was getting it a lot!

I've had this on and off for a few weeks. It got so bad one night I actually threw up. I asked my doctor and he said there are a few reasons. For one it could be dehydration so drink lots of liquids. Also, I had an ear infection and this affected why I had it. I have severe sinus issues now and this has a lot to do with it. I find when I lay down for 10 minutes this seems to make it feel better.

Does anyone get pain on the side of their head? It feels like pressure all on the side of my face and my head. I'm gonna go back to the dr an get some xrays on Monday cause that's when they're open next. I hope it's not something worse or more serious..
