Use an ECA stack. Change your macronutrient ratio to be mostly, if not all, proteins and healthy essential fats. Figure your total lean mass with fat calipers then adjust your caloric intake to just below maintenance level, then brutalize yourself with burst cardio and heavy heavy resistance training. If you don't think you'll be able to enforce the cardio on yourself, then immediately join a high intensity cardio class like boxing or kickboxing. Suffer through the above for about a month and keep everything on lockdown and you will see the pounds melt off.
ok. i know i'm new. But that up there was like someone speaking a foreign language to me. I understand the cardio and protein and reduing calory intake. The rest? No clue. Please explain.

I have lost 65 pounds of baby weight in the last six months. I can tell you what has worked for me.
Consider joining fitday.com. This site totally rocks! It has a calorie counter (like has a calorie count for EVERY food you could ever dream up, including fast food). There is a supportive forum, tips, BMI calculator, activity calculator (like what physical activity burns how many calories etc), food jourmal. It was a dream come true for my weight loss journey. And it's free to join.
Find out how many calories you need to consume to stay healthy while losing weight. Graze. Don't let yourself get too hungry or you will probably binge. I eat breakfast (300 cal), snack (150 cal), lunch (400 cal), snack (150 cal), dinner (500 cal), snack (150 cal). This is the ONLY way I have been able to really lose weight successfully. Gotta keep that energy up.
As far as working out, I walk one hour a day and do 20 minutes of youga every night (on a DVD) A few times a week I mix it up with weight training and pilates. Just make an effort to be active every day.
Cayenne pepper is a great metabolism booster. I put it on damn near everything. Apple cider vinegar is also super good for you. It has widely recognized healing properties and boosts immunity as well as energy and aids in weight loss. Just mix 2tsp in 8oz of water up to three times a day. I also took African mango for one month to get things off to a good start when I hit a plateau.
I just have 4lbs to go before reaching my pre-preggo weight. I purchased PGX bioclinic meal replacement powder. It is loaded with fiber, heps you stay full and supresses appetite, naturally. It is really giving me the push to keep my portions under control.
Drink TONS of water. Three liters a day is good. That's three of those larger Aquafina bottles. I break it up like, one liter before noon, one before dinner, and one before bed. At first you will be up peeing ALOT, but your body gets used to it (of course, I am up every night regardless with my six month old, LOL!)
Aim for realistic goals. 1-2lbs per week is reasonable. I know we all want to lose weight quickly, but keeping it off is just as important. Some weeks I would lose around 3lbs, others it slowed or nothing. Keepin that metabolism sparked and your body properly fueled is key. Good luck girl!! I know you can do it, just make up your mind you will and let nothing stop you and get in the way of your goal!
I also keep a photo on the regrigerator, right next to the handle, of me in my best shape of my life in a bikini in Hawaii a few years ago. Believe me, it helps when I mindlessly reach for the fridge late at night. Plus, if you are a night binger like me, it never hurts to just go to bed. You can't eat while you are sleeping! Adequate sleep is necessary for your body to rest and rebuild.
You can do this!!!
Very good info on crash dieting.
thanks so much! I'll try the web site!

Master cleanse. You'll still want to get 1200 calories via the syrup
but I've lost 13 pounds in two weeks the first time and kept about ten pounds
off for six months before going back to my normal weight.
Plus, as a cleanse, it's good for you so long as you're not going under
1000 cal a day and are following directions re: water and flushing.
Considering I hardly worked out when I did it I don't see why doing the
master cleanse + working out wouldn't make you hit 15-20 pounds in two
weeks depending on your BMI.

Or as my boyfriend likes to say from his army days ruck sack marching burns 6,000 calories (but fucks your back so don't dothat![]()
Eat a lot of healthy fats, and a diet rich in natural fiber. Vegetables and fruits.
And start jogging!
thanks for all suggestions. I already run and do yoga but i'm gonna try the master cleanse thing. And watch what i eat a little better.

Jumping rope has worked for me. Also, SlimFast is a good way for reducing calories.
Thanks for that. Jump roping is fun... i'll try that some too. Idk bout the slim fast though. I think i'm gonna try the master cleanse thing.

lol. thanks. i will keep that in mind.

WARNING: LONG
Ok, you will drop weight fast on the Master Cleanse, but you WILL gain it all back, and probably more later, just so you know. So that is DEFINITELY a temporary fix, trust me, I've done it multiple times. Make sure you include the salt water flush each morning to maximize weight loss.
I've lost about 25 lbs in the last year, but not only that, I've completely reshaped and re-sculpted my body! I actually completely got rid of that lower abdominal pooch. It's gone! I used to have it so defined, like two little half circles of fat, it looked like a butt on my stomach! Not anymore, now I have a six pack. I burned off most of my body fat and kept my curvy shape, but now I am hard and defined. I even got my sister doing what I am doing, and she has lost 15 lbs in the last six weeks. People who know me and saw my transformation are shocked and always ask what my secret is..... there are a few SW girls who have seen my body change (Zinaida is one) and they can attest....
How you look is 80% your diet! You HAVE to cut out processed foods. This means anything that isn't natural..... when I say that I mean, eat as a caveman would eat. I eat vegetables that have grown out of the ground, not canned, only fresh (okay, sometimes frozen). I eat fresh fruit in the morning (in moderation) and TONS of protein! But natural protein, fish, beef, all types of meat (not just lean meat), not processed veggie burgers, hot dogs, deli meats or even smoked salmon, these are processed! Just natural cuts of meat that have not been altered. I eat chicken drumsticks, ground turkey breast, all cuts of steak, buffalo steaks, ground bison, eggs, lamb chops, tilapia, salmon, sashimi, ocean perch, sardines, grouper, sole, halibut, cod, shrimp, chicken breast, chicken livers, turkey livers, turkey hearts, just to name a few....
I cook these plain with no seasoning, but if I HAVE to use something, just plain cayenne pepper or Mrs. Dash because it has low sodium. I only use my oven or stove, NEVER a microwave. I eat one serving of meat (whatever I choose from that long list) with a vegetable and/or fat and a carb. Basically, you want to eat a protein, carb, and fat with every meal. This can be hard to keep track of and do!
I try to adhere to it as best that I can, but the most important is getting enough protein! You want to eat your body weight in protein, so I weight 118 lbs right now, I eat around 118 grams of protein every day. Now, you will hear many people disagree and say this is bad for you, etc. The problem is, whenever you consume protein, as it goes through your liver, it produces by products, such as ammonia. This can strain your kidneys, and also release free radicals which do a ton of damage throughout all your body systems, including aging! This is why it's important to vary your protein sources. Eating organ meats and animal fats rich in vitamin A (chicken liver), for example, help neutralize these by products.
"Dieters often add protein powders to up the protein content without adding too many calories at the same time. The result can be a diet unnaturally high in protein, something that all primitive peoples avoided. Protein requires vitamin A for its metabolism and a diet too high in protein without adequate fat rapidly depletes vitamin A stores, leading to serious consequences—heart arrhythmias, kidney problems, autoimmune disease and thyroid disorders. Diets too high in protein also cause a negative calcium balance, where more calcium is lost compared to the amount taken in, a condition that can lead to bone loss and nervous system disorders.
A clue to making the Atkins diet successful comes from studies of the diets of carnivores like dogs and lions. Weston Price reported that lions could not breed in captivity when fed on steak alone. When liver was added, they bred easily.3 When lions in Africa are fed exclusively on muscle meats, they become cripples due to spinal collapse. When they were given bones that they could crush, the problem resolved.4 Bones provide calcium and liver provides vitamin A—among many other nutrients—and they work synergistically with the protein in muscle meats. Those on the Atkins diet should eat liver at least once a week or take cod liver oil daily (or both) and use bone broths frequently." (source: http://www.westonaprice.org/abcs-of-...ient-land.html)
I don't follow just one diet, I just try to eat as clean as possible. This means organic, fresh, unprocessed foods. I eat no grains whatsoever. The only thing maybe you could call a grain that I eat is quinoa, and that is on occasion, instead of oatmeal in the morning. I eat absolutely no dairy. I quit drinking milk 5 years ago, and up until about six months ago, I was still eating greek yogurt for breakfast. When I cut out every last bit of dairy, I really noticed a HUGE difference. I lost a lot of the "bloat", and I hold way less water. Also, I am more vascular and defined/lean now, not so soft looking.
So basically eat nothing but meat, vegetables, nuts, beans, lentils, and fruit (in moderation). No white rice, no white bread (no bread at all for that matter), no cereal. For your carb source, eat something like a couple slices of a sweet potato, or some brown rice or steel cut oatmeal. If I'm craving milk, or want to to mix something with my protein shakes besides water and egg whites, I use So Delicious coconut milk drink and/or coconut water.
I do the Spartacus workout three days a week (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKH3KZCOm38), and I alter a few of the exercises now. Instead of the first exercise, I do step ups with 15 lb weights in each hand. Instead of the shoulder press at the end, I do crunches on a ball with a 12 lb weight. I run at least 2 miles a day, at least 18 miles a week. Right now I can run 6 miles without stopping, I've never been able to do that in my life! I either run outside, or do the stair stepper, or do HIIT. For HIIT, I get on the treadmill, put the incline to either 7 or 9 depending on how much I want to challenge myself, and do one minute at a pace of 3.6, then 30 seconds to one minute at a pace of 6.6 or faster. I try to do the fast part to where I feel my heart coming up in my throat, so I'm really pushing myself physically, then I slow down. I do this for at least forty five minutes. I throw in some kick boxing classes and other various classes here and there also just to change things up.
The key is to constantly change and challenge your body, but you want to do it in a way that you will stick with it. So, don't try to do some crazy routine where you are killing yourself in the gym six days a week, get into it gradually, so that it becomes easy and enjoyable. You will see better and more importantly, LONG LASTING results this way. Make an effort to do something everyday, and stick to your diet, remember that's 80% of how you look right there.
Good luck! And hit up AngelKing or Will Brink for advice, they are rockstars!
Honestly, I have to argue against the master cleanse thing.
There really is no secret to weight loss. Eat healthily and exercise.
Eating too much protein is bad for your kidneys.
If I were you, I'd do (mostly) what JD said. Switch to a mostly raw food diet. Cut out all processed foods. That way you don't feel like you're dieting.
Don't starve yourself, or your body will go into starvation mode and you will STOP losing weight.
And make sure you switch up whatever exercises you do. Doing the same thing every day will cause your body's muscle memory to stop you from losing weight.
Cut out gluten, dairy, and added sugar completely. Easy to do when you're eating unprocessed foods.
There is great advise for a lifestyle change but if I had 2 weeks to harden up I would drop all carbs, up my water & cardio first thing in the morning with weights in the afternoon. If I had a photo shoot I would also manipulate my water for that day. Crash dieting is never healthy but can be done over short periods of time. I also agree with the cleanse not being healthy but may work well for dropping water.

Buy an Oxygen magazine. I believe the fat loss issue is still on stands. Follow that 14 day meal plan to a T. Hit the gym 4x a week mixing cardio, plyometrics, and weight training.
SN- J.D, just out of curiousity, how hard is it to COMPLETELY
cut out grains and dairy?I follow a pretty low carb diet but I just couldn't see myself NEVER having bread or cheese. Do you think one could get the same results with a slice of whole grain bread thrown in 3 or 4x a week?
^ It's surprisingly easy (raw foodist here--I only eat uncooked food).
The trick is to eat different food instead of trying to replace grains/dairy with other foods.
Also, I drink almond milk (commercially available and relatively cheap).
thanks for all that. i will look into the live foods thing
She didn't get this far by just shakin' hands...

^Please do not cut out all carbs for extended periods of time. Your body does need glycogen to survive which comes from glucose. Low carb or no carb diets can actually lead to something called Ketoacidosis which causes your blood pH levels to be imbalanced and can result in kidney failure and death.
I actually perviously did a no sugar diet but after learning in-depth metabolism in university, I would never do that again. I would try to avoid refined sugars though.
I say go low carb! I tried that and it worked. Also I say do some yoga but hold the positions for longer periods. I would say double the time. Many people run through yoga and jump around doing different positions. Slow it down and breathe. Also if you're going to do weights, start with the lowest weights and do several sets. You want to cut and get lean, not bulk up as high weights will do. Also high weights have the tendency to make people look bloated and chubby. So lean up first and cut with lower weights and higher repetition. Once you're satisfied with how your body is turning out , if you're desire is to bulk up the muscle a bit then go for higher weights and lower reps.
Also sit ups specifically I don't do regular sit ups. I do a combo leg lift/sit up. Or I switch and do buttocks tuck in with legs lift and crunch. Also it you want to take it a step further hold your stomach muscles through out the day. It will be hard at first to remember to do this, but after awhile you'll forget your doing it to the point of having to tell yourself to relax and let go.
Cardio is also important. I hate the treadmill myself. I do like the stairmaster and i think it's called the oscillator machines. They target more muscle and you avoid the impact to your knees and other joints.
Drink plenty of water. I drink mostly water daily and some juices.
I also heard "jello" is great for meal replacement. It's really just water.
Also many people sit down to huge meals, which is why people tend to feel tired based on their body going into over drive to process all of that food.
It's always best to eat many small meals throughout the day.
Also find foods that have a high fiber content as well.
Creatine has been great in producing faster results while working out. You want to avoid the ones made for men because it causes excess water retention and bloating in women. Make sure it's says that it's made for women only. Not only will you lean up but you'll be very toned too.
Hope this helps![]()
I have to go ahead and disagree here... it's VERY hard for most women to "bulk up". Some of the leanest, thinnest women I know lift some pretty heavy weights.
I used to work out with a friend of mine who had been stuck at the same weight for two months! Once she added more weight she dropped 6 inches in a month.
IMO - You should use a weight that's enough that your last few reps are HARD. If that's a "heavy" weight... it's a heavy weight. You aren't going to bulk up unless that's what you're really REALLY going for.
