update: so I gave up on going on vacation this year because I decided I would rather make 10k and THEN save up enough for a vacation.

    sooo I'M IN!!!

so far I've saved up $450

I had 1.5k but I just got a new apartment and had to get some cheap furniture and things to get settled in. bah! but I'll make it back in no time.

I'm also trying to save at least 100 a shift. If I work 3-4 days a week, making 10k by the end of the year will be TOTALLY do-able!

I am doing this! I had 8000, but I bought a car with cash. Start over at nothing. Nothing is stressful. I should have at least 2000 by the weekend.

This is steep BUT I want to save 16k by September 1st...that's my living expenses for school next year and if I can do it it means no more student loans, and no more help from mom and dad, completely independent! I plan on working 4 days a week, 2 long shifts where I hope to earn at least $400 and 2 short shifts of $250...$1300/week, 5200/month...that gives me 1200 for living expenses every month. I know the numbers say its possible, I really want it to work! But then even if I save 10 or 12k that's the majority taken care of and I'd be pretty content with that...I've never had that much money before!

16k in approximately 20 weeks, that's 800 a week. idk what your living expenses are but if you make like 1200 a week it SHOULD be enough if you're disciplined. I think 10k by september should be TOTALLY doable but shoot for 16k. if you don't make it, at the very least you'll be close!

I'm in. Can't say it'll actually end up being realistic for me, as I work a smaller neighborhood club that only brings me about $500/week for three shifts, but I should be able to put away $1K a month (since my living expenses aren't wretched and I only buy clothes if they're tax-deductible stripper clothes!). Giving myself six months to leave the city and $1K of money I'll inevitably lose or have to loan someone or end up spending frivolously on something -- I like to give myself a little leg room with "fuck-up money" -- saving $5K by the time I move shouldn't be that hard. Next stop: figuring out how much it'd cost to start my own studio! Or shop. Or store. Or bar. Or, hell, strip club.

Money from dancing is so inconsistent so I found that saving all my money until the end of the week a REALLY good idea. I used to be guilty of making a ton of money one night and just blowing it all only to find that the next night I wouldn't make anything!
I'm going to try this!!! And use the same principle and apply it to each shift...I'm sooooo guilty of mentally keeping track of how much money I've earned in a night...and I' just realising I don't think it does me any good. I'm FREAKING OUT until I hit $100, still pretty grumpy/anxious until I hit $200, happy once I hit $300 but between 4 and 500 I just stop trying...because I figure...shit, $400 is a pretty big chunk of cash, I think I wanna go home and sleep now... I am going to hope that this method of not counting until I get home will put me in a better mood at work and also help me to not judge nights at work/my attitude towards it based on the previous night's earnings.

I also do the thing where I save 100 out of every night, except I put mine in envelopes towards certain things, like medical/dental and school loan repayment fund. The rest goes to bills and/or gets deposited, and I have a rule that at least 100 of what I deposit must go to savings.

With that said, I'm up to 865!

I love that I get my money from the club at the end of the month in one big lump. Its so much easier to save. The cheque takes a while to clear so I keep the rent for the following month in a casual savings account, keep enough money to live off in my current account and shove the rest into my high interest savings account that I can't access easily. I'm hoping to save €15000 by the end of the season.

I also came up with something new! Instead of going to the mall and buying a bunch of random thing s that you have nothing to pair with and eventually cost you more by intending on buying a match for these things but ultimately end up buying random things again; instead take pics of the clothing/accessories you need to find matches for. Once you get to the mall just look back at the pics to stay focused and buy exactly what you need! :-)

The "recent strong voices" are not calling for a new tax increase, they are calling to restore tax rates to what they were pre-Bush administration, when the economy was much more stable and when we didn't have a deficit. But it's irrelevant, at least for the next two years, as Obama has extended the Bush era tax cuts.

ObamaCare is a term given to the health care bill which was *inspired* by Obama's rhetoric of universal health care, but entirely written by our congress.
No political overtones intended. However, if one is trying to calculate a multi-year financial plan and the effective tax rates for future years are going to be higher than the current year ... plus new future costs related to national health care will result in mandatory future year expenditures that are not required this year ... then these items can't be left out of that calculation.

As to whether one chooses to NOT call the US gov't extracting more of the money one earns in future years a tax increase or not, feel free to please yourself ! My point was that calculations show that accomplishing financial goal X will take 7 years instead of 6 years due to the US gov't extracting more of the money a dancer earns in future years for income taxes and new national health care related costs.

i'm in. i'm at 3500 right now after saving for 1 week bc i've been working my butt off since i'm on break from school. my goal is to put away 1000 a week and by summer i should have 10,000! i had a really shitty night last night but i realized we all have our bad nights. if you know what works for you stick with it. i made a silly mistake of wearing a different outfit and going to work early yesterday. that doesn't and will never work for me so back to what i'm used to. all of us can save and make the money we want, it just requires motivation and dedication. you can do it!!! be CHEAP and work hard! set small goals for yourself like "this hour i'm going to make at least $100 or $200!" and "this night i need $500 to be happy!"

btw the rubber band thing DOES work. I started with 1k last year and added in chunks of $500 and ended up saving 6500 in less than a month. (theres no way you want to break a stash of exactly 3 grand for groceries, that would be silly bc then u would have a savings stash of 2867 or something weird like that. lol) that went to a boob job and i'd say it was worth it. i definitely make more money on stage now among other things.

how about after we get a nice group of girls in the 10,000 club we move on up to the 20,000 club and then the 50,000 club!!! after that though i'm buying a home at under 25 years old!!!

i'd also like to add in i'm still kinda drunk from my shitty night last night and i'm feeling very optimistic right now. hahaha

oh also i'd like to add in i'm not a top earner by any means i SUCK at hustling. gawd i wish i were a top earner though. but i can still work hard and make lots of money so you can as well! when i decided i wanted a boob job i got one 2 months later! and i was 19 at the time.

lets keep each other motivated!!!!! woo woo!

and also, DON'T FORGET: don't depend on anyone but yourself! be independent and know yourself, love yourself, pamper yourself and take care of yourself and YOUR HEART. so many people can and will let you down throughout your life. be careful in who you trust and who you love. independence is a great feeling.

I was facing being homeless before I began dancing so I have been saving since I started and I have reached the goal X 3. I am really burnt out and it would be a shame to watch it dwindle away so I need to make some life decisions now.

Just pulled in a shift over the weekend and after paying for a few things, ended up bundling $100, so I'm starting there. Not sure if my health will let me dance enough to reach $10,000 (this weekend hurt me enough) but I'll put my best towards it. Hope to be back seducing men out of money soon. :-)
