Default Just had my teeth pro whitened….

    Best 500.00 I ever spent….
But my mouth has never hurt so much. Ok I think it did when I had some teeth pulled…
My teeth are BEAUTIFUL…I love em, movie star white.
But it was done at noon today and now its 9pm and Im still in pain.
I really really wanna cry, but my daughter is so sensitive that seeing me cry will make her very sad as well, so I have to play it cool and pretend my teeth are just kinda achy so I dont upset her.
I bought some Sensodyne, but I dont even wanna brush my teeth! The lady at the front desk at the dentist recommended ACT mouthrinse with Fluoride to help with the sensitivity as well, so ill try some of that once it warms up to room temp…
I dont even do Tylenol for head aches or anything, Im like anti-meds…but today Ive taken 6 Naproxins and 2 Lortabs… and if I could find my Demerol I would have taken that too.
    Still hurts.
Hope this doesnt last long…..anybody have any tips?
Anybody considering in office bleaching/light…. its very well worth it…but be ready to be in a crappy mood afterwards!

Sorry, don't have any methods for the pain...but would you mind telling what the name of the whitening method was?

I've considered it, but since I'm a somber loner and work in dim lighting, it'd be unnecessary. There's a spa around the corner from me that does treatments for $60 a pop and I'm curious. But my mouth hurts enough just from doing the $10 bleaching kit I bought once a month. Awesome results, but owie. It barely last 24 hours though, more of a soft tissue burn, which is why I don't do it often.

have your dentist give you a fluoride treatment specifically the varnish or if they don't have that then the fluoride trays they do for kids or adults. Bleaching makes enamel more "porous" (or space filled) when air, liquids etc hit the enamel they hit those gaps/spaces creating pain--fluoride has small enough molecules to bind and fill in those gaps stopping the sensitivity and pain

The lortab worked, but since I don't usually take medications for anything, even tylenol, it made me super sick, and sleepy. But the pain went away.
and I use fluoride daily now. I LOVE my teeth and everybody notices them.... I'm glad I did it

Buffy..., they made trays for me, and gave me two vials of 32% carbamide peroxide, to use nightly for two weeks. I noticed a difference after that two wks....the peroxide is called LumiBrite.
You could stop after that 2wks, but I went ahead and did the in office bleaching/light.
They coated my gums with wax stuff to protect them, then put bleach on my teeth, then put the blue light on my teeth. You have to sit totally still, which is uncomfortable, but not bad. I felt my first bit of sensitivity at the end of the hour and when I say I was nearly in tears from that point until bed time....
But my teeth are soooooooooo pearly.
