Default Tattoos: do they affect your $$$?

I'm considering getting some ink at a good tattoo studio, and I'm curious as to how tattoos might affect a stripper's earnings- for those strippers/other female adult entertainers out there who have tattoos, did getting inked affect your earnings at all? Did people treat you differently in or out of the club?

I'm already very aware that some strip clubs have a policy on tattoos (cover them up and/or none larger than 2x2) so I don't need to be filled in on those.

My advice - If you don't have tattoos, don't get them. Period.
It will narrow down your customer base and make it more difficult to make money.

You're probably going to get a ton of "I have tattoos and I do okay" replies... but seriously... I've danced with no tattoos, and I've danced with tattoos. And dancing without them requires about 10% of the hustling skills that dancing with them requires... to make the same amount of money.

I don't know if this will affect your decision, and I mean no offense to any of the girls here who have them, but I avoid girls with tattoos at the SC. Most of the guys I know try to as well. I can't tell you how many times I've heard this line...

"Man, she'd be so hot if she didn't have (a tattoos/all those tattoos)"

Again...I've gotten over judging people by their tattoos...I used to do that, I admit...but I still find them unattractive. I tend to think that having them, as Desuvs post says, limits your options.

Definitely will affect your money should you choose to get them removed. I've spent $1500 to remove mine and still have several sessions to go! Having a conspicuous tattoo is irritating when dancing as well. Tons of customers will ask stupid questions about it and you will have to hear idiots telling you how they like it/don't like it and play like they're wiping it off. It gives them another thing to interrupt your hustle with. If you're going to be in the industry for long, hold off on getting it.

Thanks for the answers so far- one major reason I ask is that 90 percent of guys usually say "OMG, never get breast implants! You'll regret them, don't ruin your body!" and yet I've only seen women's money, confidence, and pool of customers increase after getting them... so I've learned to never trust what men SAY, and instead pay attention to what they DO. (So yeah, actions and cold, hard cash speak MUCH louder than words.)

I'm not planning anything big or stereotypically masculine, instead opting for something small and feminine- while I wouldn't mind answers concerning sleeves, keep in mind that I don't plan on getting them.

Certain clubs don't like tattoos either. They'll make you cover them. If not you can pay the makeup person who works in the club to cover them. At my old club, i've heard of high rollers being picky about wanting girls who don't have them.

Could be time consuming too. Something to think about.

A tiny butterfly here or there makes no big difference one way or the other. Anything beyond that and you start to lose the older customers. Think of how much money you make off of the 25 year olds and compare that to how much you make off the 50 year olds. Of course its going to cut into your money if you alienate the deepest pockets in the club.

Titties are one thing, you can always go back, upgrade, downgrade, whatever...ink is permanent. It definitely does limit your customer base and clubs. If you don't have any, think long and hard. I definitely won't say don't do it. Think about it and know that your choice will impact your career in the long run.

Do I regret getting my tattoos? FUCK NO!!!!! I told Rick's to kiss my ass and I'd keep getting more tattoos till my tits are past my knees! *putting authoritarian mask on*
But in all seriousness think it over at least a month....if you still want it, get it.

I've always liked hunting for my kills though. Shit that falls in my lap is no fun. The thrill of the hunt and the chase is where it's at.

I've had clubs where I make shit tons of dough cause I'm the only bitch rocking tats and the goth (and teeth) other clubs like a certain one in a certain shithole town where I didn't make shit....it also depends on where you are Portland tats are the rule rather than the exception, for example

full sleeves here, and i did fine, top earner even. but ive always hustled my ass off, and i think that matters more then anything else.

the only thing it hindered was my ability to get hired at some clubs.

You only live once. Dermablend is a great product for concealing tattoos, depending on how big and where they are.

Like tempest666 says, tattoos are the norm in most Portland clubs.

I love them. My wife has them.

Problem maybe, is that many dancers here are "artists" and have amazing, creative designs that make the bad jobs look terrible in comparison. I bet a lot of cursive script "honey" kind of things get painted over here too.

^Used to work in a club where we had ONE girl with no tattoos...
She couldn't dance... couldn't even walk in her shoes... had no club how to hustle... but she made bank because she was the ONLY girl with no tattoos and guys LOVED it because they thought it was so rare and interesting that she had NO tattoos.

One full sleeve, heavily tattooed, multiple piercings. Top earner.

Essentially, it WILL affect it, but it depends on how you handle it. It also depends on which clubs you want to work at, and what the local scene is. I also tend to find that I get a LOT more of the fetish boys. Essentially, I can wear a full gown and diamante (black gown) and look like a fantastic freaky/lady crossover.

The other thing that I will say is that funnily enough, I do much better with the old guys than I do with the young ones...the pre-conceived notions of what "tattooed women" are like works in my favor sometimes.

As a tattoo artist and piercer though, I will say one thing. Fuck your job, fuck your earnings. This is something that will be on you for life. This is something that should be expensive, and that will probably be painful. Think about this for some time - I absolutely LOVE tattoos, I would love it if everyone had them. BUT I see a lot of people coming in these days who have put no thought into it, and just want "ink". I have no idea if you are one of these people, but if you have not thought about this for at least 6 months, please give it a little longer. And really research your artist. And then you will end up with art that you love, and that won't affect your earnings at all, because it will fit you so well.
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.

    Ugggh, so true ^

I've got a few tattoos and while I don't think they've affected my earnings too much (for every man who hates them there's someone who loves them) the questions I have to answer about them drive me crazy. I understand that most guys are just trying to make conversation but it's really, really tiresome.

I'll be holding out until retirement to get any more.

i don't have any tattoos and intend to never get any. a lot of customers compliment my lack of body mods.

but that doesn't mean it's good for money.

our culture isn't what it used to be. tattoos now don't mean you're a total freak. they mean you're fun. conservative guys tend to be cheaper than liberal guys. and a lot of young guys have good jobs and few responsibilities, compared to a lot of older guys who are struggling to pay all their bills every month, but can look rich in a club by being old and wearing a golf shirt.

it's true that body mods can hurt a girl's chances of getting hired at certain clubs, but it doesn't mean it'll hurt her money if she's willing to make the most of her opportunities, and vary her hustle, overall look, and possibly where she works accordingly.
-love everyone but keep them far from your soul-

Actually... the type you just described as tending to have no money... is 75% of my customer base. LOL
I make... almost my entire income on these guys.

They are. That's the thing, though... customers will stop you all night long to talk about your tattoos... even though they have ZERO money and are just there with their friends and bored.
And then they want to take off their shirt in the middle of the floor to show you some shitty tattoo they have... it's really embarrassing. LOL

I absolutely regret mine as far as dancing is concerned. I had no idea how it was going to affect things, or I would have waited. If I knew I was going to be in the industry this long, I would have waited.

More than anything the questions get VERY tiresome and draining.....and having alot of tattoos, I find myself with the time wasters flocking to me almost every night. I am at the point where I can't even act cute about it anymore, I am just so insanely fed up with it. Another thing that sucks is guys who come to the stage to tip "just to see my tattoos" and nothing else....yeah money is money and at least they are tipping but trust me it gets very old.

One thing I can say is all the good spending customers that I have had and done lengthy VIP's with and whatnot have not asked any questions about my tattoos. If a guy starts asking about them right off the bat, I can almost %100 guarantee he's a time waster. My good spenders almost act like I don't even have tattoos.....

I can't wait to get my boobs so maybe people will be distracted by them and hopefully my tattoos will stop getting the attention and my sexier "assets" will. BUT we shall see. So far it doesn't work that way but a girl can hope.

Speaking of distraction, that's another thing that sucks. Alot of guys are dumbfounded and distracted by tattoos to the point that an otherwise attractive girl can have her other attributes (great butt, nice legs, amazing boobs, pretty eyes) completely looked over. I experience this alot. It really sucks when you are up there working it or giving a lap dance trying to draw their attention to your sexy parts and you can't get their eyes to get off the tattoos. I've even had guys straight up ADMIT to me that it "took them a few minutes" to realize how hot I was cause they were distracted by the tattoos.

SO all in all, yeah, you can still make money with them, I do, but........look at all the extra stressors I have to put up with in order to do so, as compared to a girl without them.
