Well, maybe Will can weigh in on this. The studies that I've seen say that working out for shorter periods of time a few times a day beats one long massive workout. It increases your metabolism and burns more calories. Insofar as weights are concerned, if you're targetting different body parts each time and feeling like you're giving your body enough time to recuperate than I don't see that it makes a difference. But really, if you can work out for one long stretch and like doing that then keep doing what works for you. It just depends on your goals and time constraints.
It won't really matter. Any differences between the two approaches will be minimal, and in any case, secondary to your dietary influences.
The main thing, and the best thing, is that you are in the gym at all! That's the hardest step for most people, so good for you!
I am a competitive runner, and I am going to weigh in. Theoretically, it shouldn't matter. But, if you worry about your eating pre-workout, then it could mean that you stay dietary conscience for more of the day.
And, how long is long?
It is nice to be fresh when doing your weight work. So i would recommend resting before you do that part of your workout, and getting a meal in. Doing your weights before your run is ideal, but not before every run!

When I had a gym membership (and I will once my finances are in order) I would go and work out about 2 hours a day. This is because I didn't want to drive around. Now that my work out will involve walking around my neighborhood I will do 4 30 minute walks a day. The differences are minor except that you are still burning calories after a workout so that sometimes adds up.
