Default Payments and Money Management - Please Help!

So I'm in the process of signing up for multiple sites, and I have to say that I'm very overwhelmed at the moment in terms of figuring out how to organize my payments. Im not sure what to do because well, I don't have a bank account right now. (two of them got closed due to overdraft fees and i owe each hundreds of dollars. im not even sure if they are going to let me open them back up!). I also can't get checks right now bc I don't have a bank to cash them at ( the only banks near me you have to be a member of in order to cash checks there). So I'm really not sure what to do, I signed up for a Payoneer account and I have my card now, but some sites don't accept Payoneer accounts, so what should I do? Payoneer seems pretty cool but they only allow a 10k limit, thats the maximum amount you can have in your account at one time! I havent even signed up for any indy sites yet because I'm lost as far as how to recieve payments from them while still keeping your personal info secure, etc. So my main questions are:

    1. What is the best way for me to get paid and for my money to all go to one place? I'm kind of stressed over the idea of having to have multiple accounts, transfer money multiple places, etc.

    2. What is the most effectve way to keep track of how much different sites owe me, when payouts are due, and who still owes me money/hasn't paid out yet etc.? Do you guys use spreadsheets?

    3. What is the best way to retain the most of your income? Some of the i-payout fees seem absolutely ridiculous!

    4. How do you keep up with tax information and stuff? I have no idea how to do taxes and fill out the forms and all that stuff, since my previous jobs always took my taxes out of my paycheck automatically?
    5. I have found some promising European sites but the drawback is that you have to have a bank account with a Euro currency, do any fellow American girls have this? How would I go about setting this up?

I just want to make sure I get all my money and its not just floating in cyberspace somewhere, if anybody can help me I would appreciate it sooo much, thank you

I don't have a bank account at the moment either and the reason for me don't have one because a few years ago. I had someone that hacked into my account and stolen my money. The bank paid me back the stolen money but I don't have enough to pay them back the money it sucks but one day hope to pay them back.

What I do to cash checks is go to a place that lets you in cash checks. Where I'm from there is Check Cashing http://www.checkcashing.com/ they let you cash checks but they have higher fees checking it out it depends on how much the check is. I usually would cash out checks between 500-800 dollars and the fee was around 10 dollars to do it.

For taxes I keep track of the check studs.

I am pretty sure walmart lets you cash paychecks too as long as nothing on them is handwritten and they are less than a month old.. everyone has a walmart around them (:

O wow sorry, I didn't realize you had already discovered walmart's check cashing services till after I posted that. Anyways I would definitely use this because it's very hassle free and easy and if you load it onto one of their money cards(instead of carrying around cash) there is no reloading fee which I think is usually around 3$

I use a traditional bank account but there are also online banks. Smartypig.com has better interest rates than a normal bank and you can have checks or direct deposits sent to them then use their mastercard to get your money.

For taxes I just print up and bring all my bank statements to my accountant so I can't help you there.

If you owe money to a bank from overdrafts and stuff (like you said), youre not going to be able to open a bank account anywhere until its all paid off. The banks in the US use a system that will block you, and if for some reason you are able to open a bank account, theres a chance the old bank will find it and they will automatically take the funds you owe them from it with out even notifying you. So stay away from banks until you get it all resolved.

The walmart card is a good option but they do charge a monthly maint fee (around 3 bucks a month I think) and theyll charge you for atm withdrawls and to load cash onto the card. You can read all the rules and fees online I think... the only other issue ive had with walmart is sometimes Id bring a check there and the cashier would be clueless and say they cant take it, then Id go back the next day and a different cashier would take it- so it really depends.

there really is no free way to get your money anymore. Everyone charges something.. Walmart does have the lowest check cashing fees around though. You can get other prepaid debit cards from lots of places- some with out fees, but they all charge you to load it. Sometimes the card will come with instructions on how to get your check directly deposited onto it- but the routing number they give you doesnt work with all the cam sites. some of them dont recognize it.

I think your best bet is to use spreadsheets to keep track of your earnings.

Also remember- prepaid cards are not the same as bank accounts. Its not recommended to keep money on them. Look at what happened with epassporte.

Mmm as for euro sites.. I tested one out one time that paid in euros. they direct deposited it into a us bank account, but it wasnt really worth it for me, since they charged the fee to process my payment and then the bank here charged a fee for getting a wire transfer and then another fee to conver the euros to dollars. So out of the 50 dollars i was expecting I ended up with 32.

I could help you with tax stuff if you need it. Do you have any to report for 2010? Basically since camming is independant contracting- you submit schedule c showing what you earned then you can deduct all sorts of things- leaving you with your 'revised' income- which they then charge you tax on.

I haven't had a bank account in years and I love it! For the last 2 years I had a Walmart Moneycard and I used the direct deposit feature to get my money from MFC, MGF Amazon Payments, Paypal and more. They only charge you a monthly fee if your account is under $1000 and there is no fee for direct deposit. There is a fee of $3 everytime you deposit funds at the store and everytime you cash a check.

However, recently I switched to a WesternUnion Mastercard. It works the same as the walmart money card with the direct deposits etc but there are WAY more locations you can deposit money at. Practically every gas station and grocery store offers western union services and with the Walmart card there is only 1 walmart near me and it is such a pain in the ass to go there.
Western Union also has WAY cheaper ATM fees so that's great! The fee for loading money at a store is higher but there is NO monthly payment and direct deposit is still free. Plus when I had a Walmart card it took 3 days to get my MGF transfer and with the Western Union card I had the money the next morning! You can sign up online too!

It sounds like I work for them lol...I don't

Oh I forgot to comment on how I keep track of everything. I got a SE Ledger book from Staples and I write every penny I make and every penny I spend (business related) in it. I draw a line at the end of the week and total up both the spent and earned columns then I continue on at the end of the month I have a record and total of everything. I glued 3 envelopes on 3 of the front blank pages. Inside I put receipts for any purchases I made that are job related. There are more blank pages in the front and I use them to write down information like really great customers or a show idea that had really good results. If you want me to take a picture of one of the pages so you can see how it looks just PM and I will email it to you. The book is super light weight and it fits nicely in my bag. Then at the end of the year I just take it to HR Block and they go from there. It also helps me see trends on what days of the week are better etc.

    XOXO

Have you ever had a webcam site not offer direct deposit with the walmart money card? That's really good to know thanks (: So you just get the routing numbers and everything to enter like you would a regular bank account?

    Hey,

In regards to the maximum account balance of your Payoneer Prepaid Debit MasterCard card, please note that while the physical card cannot have more than a certain amount available at a time, your actual Payoneer account does not have a limit. Funds available in your account but not available for use on the card will become available automatically as you use the card (you may view your full account balance and your physical card balance by logging into your "My Account" page).

If you work with multiple sites that offer Payoneer as a payment method, you may have all of your accounts linked to a single Payoneer card, making it very easy and simple to track your payments and balances, and reducing overall costs and fees.

In addition, you may view your full account details at any time, including credits, debits, payments and fees, by logging in to your "My Account" page at https://myaccount.payoneer.com/Login/Login.aspx

If you have any further questions in regards to your Payoneer account, please feel free to contact us at http://www.payoneer.com/contactUs.aspx or contact me directly at [email protected]

    Thanks,

Nope, no limit. 50,000 is all that's insured by the FDIC I think.

    https://www.smartypig.com/

For taxes I deduct lingerie, clothes, gym membership, beauty supplies, mailing supplies, office supplies, any new webcam/computer stuff, my medical expenses (since I'm self employed I get a portion of my medical expenses back) and the rooms in my house that I cam in as an office. My bedroom, office, bathroom (shower shows!) and kitchen (food shows!) are all used to cam in and so a portion of my rent can be written off for business use.

If you are keeping track of everything correctly then you should be getting a tax deduction for everything you use for your business. This includes a portion of your rent/morgage, your internet bill and a portion of your utilities...among other things. Make sure to talk to your tax professional about these additional credits for home-based businesses.

MFC says it will not deposit to moneycards but since both the western union card and the walmart moneycard have direct deposit specific routing and account numbers it works just like a real bank.

Sorry but I don't see how anyone can love not having a bank account. I need a traditional one to get through my everyday life. I have a walmart prepaid card and that is no substitute for a bank account.. there's a certain limit you can't go over on that card and I have more money in the bank than that.

Angel, I googled a bit and I found posts from their representatives stating the money IS fdic insured, but I can't find it on their site. If that is true, does it mean epassporte tanking and taking your money can't happen with payoneer?

This is what Streamate says about Payoneer: "Streamate is not responsible for funds after they have been submitted to Payoneer and i-Payout. Payoneer and i-Payout are not required to follow federally funded bank guidelines, neither provides confirmation numbers, and transfers are not guaranteed like bank wires. We will provide whatever confirmation we have that funds have been sent, but Streamate is not responsible for performer/studio access to those funds in Payoneer or i-Payout. All disputes of funds not received should be directed at Payoneer or i-Payout’s respective customer service."

I do use them myself because it's convenient to me, but I would not be comfortable leaving a large amount of money on that type of service.

I think everyone's best bet is to try to clear up old bank debts so you can get yourself a real FDIC insured bank account so you can put your savings and money in a safe place.

if you want a really awesome free amazing bank account, go with Charles Schwab

my one complaint: having to mail in checks, but the envelopes to mail them are free

    otherwise, they are INCREDIBLE

24/7 PERSONAL customer support, they are always so friendly and fast and amazing

free ATM withdrawals, ANYWHERE!!!!! they give you back all the fees at the end of each month, it's a nice little boost

free checks when you first sign up, free deposit envelopes forever

checking account collects INTEREST!!!! yes you actually make money off what's already in your account!!!

So if you want to be with me
With these things there’s no telling
We just have to wait and see
But I’d rather be working for a paycheck
Than waiting to win the lottery
Besides maybe this time is different
I mean I really think you like me
