    Default Holy freckles!

I'm back to uv bed tanning again after a 6 month hiatus, and I don't remember my freckles coming out this much before! I am normally very fair with just a few faded freckles across my nose...but the past 3 weeks that I've gone back to tanning, my face is looking like Lindsay Lohan. It looks incredibly bad and blotchy. I now have freckles on my upper lip, lower cheeks, chin...everywhere. What the heck happened? I remember they used to get more prominent when I tanned in the past, but it always calmed down after a few hours and the tan blended everything out. I had been tanning for about 2 years though, so maybe this is just the beginning phase that I seemed to have forgotten about?

So should I just keep tanning my face, and hope that it will eventually even out to where the freckles will be less noticeable? Or is that not going to happen, and I should just stop tanning my face or put a high spf on? And does anyone know of an effective method to fade my new freckles in the mean time?

This is such an old post. I wonder if this girl is still worrying about this. But I am bringing it back from the dead because I am having the same problems. I find a darker foundation with bronzer helps even everything out and make the freckles less noticeable. I also have come to find out that guys LOVE freckles. I have one customer that always says he wants to take a day off to count mine!

http://southseasskincare.comHonestly, I'd leave the tanning alone, & go for the fake, they have some great stuff out..check out above link, or the many products out there..
I know you don't wanna hear it..could they be spot from sun damage?

I think it was just a beginning phase, because I don't remember them continuing to bother me. I've lost my tan now for winter and have found that Banana Boat's deep dark sunless tanner works amazing and lasts a few days if I need to be tan for something special. No streaking, and no orange. It just fades in splotches though that aren't that pretty.

I <3 freckles and I'm so sad when mine disappear a bit in the winter
    lol
I'm incredibly white though, I don't really tan, but I find that self tanner kinda hides some freckles. Don't put too much on it, or you can tell it's fake. But putting it on every couple of days makes it pretty nice and even.

And yes, IPL and hydroquinone are really the only two things that will fade freckles.....

If your freckles are becoming more prominent then I would suggest spray tan instead of UV tanning. You are damaging your skin in the long run. At one of the locations I work we have a few tanning beds, I thought to myself, "Oh great! Free tanning!"...after going just twice it didn't look right. I personally think it is because the beds they have are not that great, but at any rate, I have decided to stop tanning. I mean I live by the beach and If I go to the beach once in a blue moon that's OK. But for fair skin people, or those with freckles I suggest staying away from it, because it will eventually make your skin look dry and gross, and your risking yourself to skin cancer, and I decided it just isn't worth the hassle. If I don't constantly go, I go right to looking like casper again, but you know what?! I don't care anymore. If I need to look tan for a special night out, I would much rather get a nice spray tan. I just think it's safer.

I have seen the people that go to beds still at age 50 and 60 and they just look gross. It will eventually age you, so your best bet is to just stay away from the beds. That's just my opinion though.

I'm not sure if a guy's opinion is what you wanted, but I can say for a fact that many of us LOVE freckles, even LOTS of them. I know from many other forums that some have entire threads devoted to freckled models. Here are two samples of what I, and many, consider to be beautiful. I hope it helps someone feel better.
