    Default Skinny fat girl wants muscle definition

    Let me tell you alittle about myself and maybe u guys can help me I'd say I'm skinny fat I don't have any muscle definition and I have curves a big butt and 1000 cc fake boobs. I'm around 125 lbs 5'4. I really want to have a leaner look just not so soft looking.I am also a vegitarian

    I usually do cardio work outs in the gym last year I was working out 5 days a week at an hr and a half each day for 6 months. I lost about 10 lbs but didn't get close to any results I wanted I was just a smaller skinnyfat girl. I tried to do more weight training at this time but I have very weak arms I can't even do a proper pushup so I started low weights and never really moved up from there. I felt like I never got any strength!

    I want to get back in the gym but get it right this time. I want results! Or am I destined to alwys be the muscleless freak I am today?

    Also onto the diet I eat really well but I was thinking maybe a switch to a non vegitarian diet might be what I need. I try to eat lots of nuts, hummus,Greek yogurts and egg whites for protein but is this enough? I also juice and eat plenty of vegatables so would I even get a benifit from going nonveg?

    Train with heavy enough loads (80% 1RM) when weight training to make muscles adapt, alter diet to optimize fat loss, get enough protein (not always easy as a vegetarian), cals, EFAs, vites, water, and sleep. Don't over do the aerobics. Track actual changes in bodyfat vs weight.

    Tons of free articles, vids, etc on my site that covers all the above, but you have to put one foot in front of the other. Also, see my other posts here on above topics.

    "skinny fat" is a very common issue, where the girl is not large, but her actual bodyfat % is high.

    I am a long time vegetarian and I have muscle tone. It is possible to get all the protein you need from a veggie diet if you do it right.

    If you are weak, you may be anemic. It is very common for women to have anemia(both veg girls & meat eaters). Maybe try slowFE, its an iron pill that is absorbed slowly. This should help with energy and weakness. Then you can start hitting the weights for that muscle tone.

    Thanks will idk alot of what u just said so I'll read ur articles, maybe I should just get a personal trainer or see a nutrionist to make this easier :/

    One should have their iron status checked before adding an iron supplement as high iron levels can be toxic. Vegetarians are at higher risk of low iron due to lack of heme iron sources in their diets, but assuming low iron status and or anemia minus actual blood work is never a good idea.

    To have real "muscle tone" one needs to add some muscle, and lose some fat. Many (especially women) focus on the latter, and ignore the former. If they do actually address the former, more often then not, do it using "toning and firming" stuff that might burn some cals, does little to nothing for actual strength and muscle.

    I would really like to be able to lift heavy weights someday will how heavy do u think I should start and what are my chances of hurting myself by lifting too heavy? Before I was using like 5-8 lbs and having trouble with some of them

    ^Ah yes. An FYI for the uninsured, Planned Parenthood will check your iron during your checkup. Its a finger prick test and they have results instantly. Its a good idea to add this test to your yearly gyno visit.

    Start at the beginning once plan is figured out that works for you, where you are, your goals, etc.

    I say start out with as little weight as u can handle and gradually build upwards with the weights. I am somewhat like u in that I am at 5' 4" myself a size 4/6 and I tend to be curvier yet to me a size 4 isnt fat. I have a bigger butt but I do work out but I bulk up and tend to have a little fat over top of the muscle I weigh around 131/132 and I dont like the curviness but for me I cant help it. I have more of a muscular build and bc I carry a little fat over the muscle naturally I appear bigger than I really want. Part of it is genetics and that u cant always fight.

    I'm skinny fat too, and we have much the same proportions except my boobs aren't as big.
    I found some of the exercises from brazilian butt workout really really helped. there are only five exercises I do from it, and I found them online. They're basically variations of squats. I also do stairmaster for 15 minutes, and then I'll do some free weights. When I was doing this regularly, people really noticed the results. My legs didn't look so flabby and gross.
    I tried to eat more protein, but I got really lazy about that. I think the key is exercise.
    Please let me know if you find anything that works well.
    I am looking into Tracey Anderson's exercise program, but I looked at her video, and it was sooo hard.. She's the one that trains Gwyneth and Madonna..

    I think I'm gonna try the workout jds always posting it's called like the gladiator workout, although it looks like I might have some trouble with it at first being so weak, it looks hard!

    100% agreed with Will on doing weight training, and getting the fuck off the treadmill, elliptical, etc.

    I have been watching the same girls do the same treadmill cardio workouts for YEARS... and guess what? 5 years later, they still look... exactly.... the.... same.

    Lift.

    Heavy shit. Not "100 reps, with itty bitty pink dumbbells".

    Properly. (Since you are a noob, a trainer will help with this. Don't get the trainer that looks like a skinnyfat chick. Duh.)

    Eat protein. (Yes, going non-veg will help with this. I recommend that move.)

    Beware: Training HARD at the gym will make you more hungry. Be careful that you don't start overeating in response, and masking all your progress.

    Just a tip... Bodybuilding.com not give out free plans for you to choose from. You can choose fat loss, like I did and still get a really decent workout by Jamie Eason. Once you actually get to the workouts from there, there's alternatives or you can just make do with what you have at home. Like I do not have any weights at the moment, but I am going to use jugs of water. Hopefully it works...
