Default Anti wrinkle creams and other aniaging products

I started using the Neutrogena anti aging cleanser, anti eye wrinle cream and moisturizer. I love them. I know I don't need em, but I figure an oz of prevention is worth a llb of cure later on.

I also wear sunblock year round and during the summer avoid the sun like Charlie Sheen avoids AA meetings.

Anyone use OTC anti aging products? (over the counter)

I have found that even though I'm 40, the anti-aging products actually make my skin worse than just using a basic system. I do use a serum, followed by a moisturiser with spf 15 during the day. AT nigh I use a vitamin enriched lotion or nightcream. I tried the Retinol Night Cream by Neutrogena, but even with my combo skin, it irritated it. They do make some good products though.

The only proven anti-aging product out there is retin-a.
It will make your skin worse though for quite some time until you get to that final glowy result. I personlly couldn't stand this phase, but if you keep up with it, it will change skin texture over time.
You can buy it online without a prescription, and for fairly cheap too. Tazorac gel/cream does the same.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA), nightly or every 2 days or so
    Glycolic Acid (AHA) monthly

I use alldaychemist.com It is overseas and you will pay $25 for shipping, but the Retin A is super cheap, like $4 a tube. Ordinarily retin-a is $100 per tube. Just order a couple tubes and it will all balance out. Shipping takes 2 weeks.

Do you know the Canadian site? I can't find it and I'd like to do Retin-A month or two.

which retin-a product do you like best?
    There's like 6 or 7 different retin-a products.

I'm getting glycolic acid in the mail and I know I can't use retin-A anytime around using glycolic acid, but maybe several weeks down the road I'll want to try the retin-a out.

Currently using Redermic-R, retinal w/a booster, by LaRoche-Posay. I got if on Ebay for $45.00, it's also on skinstore, dermstore..com, laroche-posay.us
Also, Eucerin Q10 cream, for dryness. Kinda looking for some results, it's been about a month I think? I liked it was on skincareetc.com, a generic (& stronger) form of Prevage, for like 79.00. They can tell you what it is, they have other stuff too.
Check out New Beauty mag, or newbeauty.com, they rate all the otc products, doctors in different areas, etc.
What I really want, is the new hand held laser, it's sold on qvc & other places, mentioned in NB, it's like $500.00

I have religiously used Retin-A for about ten years now and in my opinion it is well worth the money, and I have a dermatologist's prescription for it. The only other things I do for my skin is STAY OUT OF THE SUN, take my makeup off every night, and use Dove as a cleanser. I think a lot of the expensive over the beauty counter products are a waste of money. Get thee to a dermatologist, and take his advice on skin care.

I use ROC eye cream w/ retinol in it -it's great. I used to use their moisturizer as well that had the retionol in it -but switched that out for a Neutrogena combination/complexion moisturizer instead w/ just using the ROC retinol moisturizing serum every once in awhile. It's great stuff!

I also use the retinol night creams, too! I'm almost 30 (plus I still smoke & tan occasionally) & most people say that I look like I'm in my early 20's still.

I use Caudalie, the Pulpe Vitaminee and Vinoperfect lines. They're not over-the-top with the anti-aging stuff, as I'm 25 and don't really feel like I need it. But my skin is in such fantastic condition that it can only be good for me later on. I feel that the best thing you can do for your skin to prevent future aging is take really good care of it...wash it twice a day, ALWAYS take off your makeup before you go to bed, and use products that don't contain shit like alcohol and sulfate, which dry your skin out really badly.

I hate buying expensive creams when I can just make them all myself without all the nasty chemicals. Or I just buy a natural lotion with basic creams/oils mixed together. Shea butter, coco butter, argan oil, evening primrose oil, seaweed powder or sea mineral powder, and retinol. That's basically all you'll ever need. I also give myself chemical peels with different acids, but you have to be careful. Mine are much stronger than anything you can buy from a cosmetic counter, but they are no where near as strong as the intense medical ones you can get in an office.

i just got the generic version (something that starts w/a T) prescribed to me by my derm. I also use Oil of Olay with a min. of SPF 15 each day - I sometimes use a serum under that. At night, I use oil of olay restructuring sometimes over top of a night serum. Other nights, I use the serum with either Clinique moisterizer, Lush Glamorous (I have a sample), or an Oil of Olay product. I always use Roc under my eyes. I sometimes use those things that prevent lines from sleeping on your face - I used to use Frownies, but now I use sticky things. I think that Derma-gen or someone makes them.

I'm pretty damned old, but my skin is in great condition. I attribute that to using sunscreen on my face daily since I was 22, having super oily skin for a long time until about 2 years ago, started using retin-a for acne when i was around 28 and switched to tazorac when I was 40. I also started using an eye-cream at 16 and never stopped. I've always had more confidence in certified dermatologists over esthticians. Heavy creams with fragrances always made me break out or irritated my skin. Derms love Neutrogena, Cetaphil and Cerave. These are the only cleansers I have ever used, same with moisturizers. Most facials kind of irritate my skin, but there are a few that I like: the oxygen facial and the Lush masks Oat Fix and another one that's creamy and great for sensitive skin.

Oils! I've tried tons of chemical creams/washes/peels etc. and I get the best results with oils. Castor is amazing under my eyes and on my neck. Coconut oil is the main ingredient in my face cleanser (all natural), jojoba is great all over my face during the day and night. Organic peels and a gentle scrub keep everything bright and tight.

I also recently started using an all natural dark spot reducer/lightener. I really like it so far!

I second whoever said chemicals make my skin worse then before. Some ingredients will draw in moisture and temporarily plump your skin but when it wears off your skin is actually dehydrated and looks worse!

I never use sunblock unless I'm out in the sun and then I use a physical block (Badger Block I believe is what it's called) I always wear my sunglasses though.

Also and I know this isn't a quick fix, but diet has A LOT to do with your skin. I recently added wheat grass after reading about the age reversing effects as well as prevention (such as gray hair) and of course the health benefits alone are enough.

I love products by Clarins. They probably don't work as well as say, retin-A, but I am in love with the way they make my skin look.

I'm bumping a slightly old thread, because I was going to start a thread that was similar, but I might as well post here. I always, always forget to use Sunscreen but I'm going to buy some the next time I'm at the grocery store. Right now, I'm using Dermadoctor Wrinkle Revenge Facial Cleanser with Glycolic Acid. I'm not sure why it's called a cleanser because it's better used as an exfoliant or a mask. I'm really curious to try the Bliss Oxygen products; I've heard they're really good for anti-aging.

I switch between moisturizers - I still haven't found one that I loved. I'm on the search for a really creamy and thick, but not greasy moisturizer, that won't break me out. If anyone has any moisturizer ideas, please let me know. I've only used Korres and Cetaphil moisturizers, and both are just okay, not great. They're not thick enough, since my skin is really dry.

Also, don't tan, unless it's spray tanning. It's not worth it at all. I've never tanned in my life and I never will, and my skin will thank me when I'm 40. I see girls going tanning multiple times per week, and I kind of feel bad for them. I don't drink (well, not often) or smoke either, plus I just naturally look really young for my age. I'm 20 (about to turn 21) but I could easily pass for 14/15.

Sorry for the long post. I enjoy talking about skincare. I could talk about it all day, lol.
