Default Boston area SW link up?

SW ever have an official link up? I have one every year for members of my forums and it's always a lot of fun. This year, 25 people came. We went toa sushi place then a bar after. I have been to link ups other forums have and meeting other "regular's was a lot of fun.

An SW link up, due to the nature of the forum and regulars, would have to be organized a tad different to ensure security, but easy enough to do.

If members were interested in a Boston area link up, they can post in this thread "I'm interested" or what have you, or PM me, and they would be put on a private PM list to discuss locations/dates. I'm thinking like April/May.

Again, location and time would not be made public and only vetted approved members invited. Metro area Boston area would be the location, so what travel you're willing to do is up to you.

Meet members in a judgement free zone, at some non work related local, etc.

As for men, I'll leave that to the female members to decide. None (including yours truly), vetted long term male members only, privately OKd by the female members going only? That's not my call, so thoughts on that should be added here.

I'll be happy to answer fitness/health/weight loss questions, to whom ever is buying the drinks!

OK, any interest in the idea of a Boston area SW link up for regular members?

I hate to say this, but people in New England, especially MA, have a rep for not being terribly friendly for a reason. I get the distinct impression this idea would get a better response in other areas, but hey, maybe the locals will prove me wrong.

I actually ran the idea by a member via PM to see if it was a crazy/stupid idea (link ups are common on other forums, but as stated, SW is unique for obvious reasons) and she said she'd be all over it if it was in her area.

So, it's either just a stupid idea, or, if not for the nasty Yankees around here, a good idea for another local.

Well that's proof you understand/know the life and work schedules of dancer types way better then I do! Hadn't thought of any of that.

Will, a few thoughts on this:
    1. Boston is probably tough to sell given its NE corner location - for many it would be a very long trip. Someplace more central, like Chicago, might be a better choice.
    2. If it is an event primarily for the dancers, it might be something better organized by one of them. I suspect that some of the girls would be a little suspicious of an "all girls" event organized by one of the guys.
    3. Might want to consider whether this could be held at a club. I always wandered what kind of turnout could be had if the SW girls organized an event at a club and invited some of the blues to attend. Hell, at the very least it would give them a way to recoup some of their travel costs.
Anyway, just some things to think about.

All good thoughts. I just threw out there for people in the region who might want to meet up for drinks, etc. As above, left to the members to decide what/if guys were invited or not, etc. I don't expect people to fly in, at least not a first annual thing at least. Club, bar, house, what ever, I don't care.

Was just something I was talking about via PM to someone in regards to a link up I did for my own members, and she said something like "that would be fun to do with SW" so I threw it out. If any gal wants to pick it up, etc, I don't care. It's all good.

    Hey, I tried.

Wouldn't any Boston SC event actually mean spending time in RI? It seems the majority of dancers and frequent SC customers in the Boston area actually do that in RI. The only time I can imagine anyone being willing to travel a decent distance to be here would be during the Summer as well with Newport 45 minutes away.

As far as responses to your question, this site seems to be much slower on the weekends. Keep that and the fact that there seem to be more NE men than NE women who post prominently here.

Makes sense. I have been to 2 clubs total in MA over the years and never been to any in RI, so I forget how it all works around here.

If it turns into a RI thing and you have questions about stuff in or out of the industry, feel free to ask.

You involved in the biz or a "regular"?

I was considering offering to do seminars uber cheap at their club, in the region (say within an hour drive) but suspect that would go over not so well as it's the nature of dancer types to assume any idea a guy comes up with can't be trusted, and 99% of the time, they're right!

I'd like to see some of them get more involved in the fitness industry, which I have tried to encourage over the years here.

I am neither "involved in the biz" nor a "regular" any longer. Personally, I haven't set foot in a club in 3 months or so. I was a frequent cstomer and regular (at times) to several girls over the years but more or less morphed into an actual RL friend to a handful of dancers, most of whom are now at least temporarily retired due to the poor business climate and their proximity to the big 4-0, as well as their just being totally burned out by the whole atmosphere. I was offering to share information with you about clubs, the city, and the state if you needed. I don't know what the prospects would be for what you are considering but agree it would be a tough sell.

Not trying to rain on your parade but any event like this (and there have been a few over the years) is ultimately going to be organized and run by dancers, not customers. I'm sure your intentions are good but I'm also sure that most of the dancers reading this thread think that you are just looking for a way to meet them without paying them.

    Good luck just the same...

Hence why I never bothered to offer it.

Back when I had a private training biz, I trained a fair number of fitness/figure competitors (who were also dancers) who encouraged the 'in house' seminar idea, but they knew me well.

Um...huh? Do you do seminars at your dentist's office? At the local grocery store? Dude, it's a strip cub and a bar. Dancers dance and the clubs sell liquor. It's not a gym or a community center. It's not the dancer's trusting you that you would have to worry about. No club owner is going to let you in the front door to do anything other than drink and spend money.

I agree that health and fitness are very important. I see lots of dancers in the afternoon shifts who had been to the gym before they came in. Honestly, I think many of them are already on the bandwagon...

there used to be SW stripperfests all the time , all but one or maybe two were ladies only. the one or two that did have men were select custys/members only. one of whom bankrolled a good portion of the fest.

i second this motion. although i would prefer the big easy of course.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.
