    Default BA Recovery Diet

I am getting my BA on the 21, and I keep hearing,"you will gain weight be prepared". But why? From the actual weight of the implants, or from laying in bed recovering eating crap? What can I do to prevent this, since I won't be able to work out for a while. I am thinking just protein, protein shakes, and salads. I want to prevent muscle loss also....

The meds make you super bloated, constipated, and possibly slows down your metabolism temporarily. After my BA, the number on the scale went up up by 15 pounds. Only 3 pounds of that was new the boobs. Then you add not pooping for nearly a week, plus water weight. It adds up quickly. It does settle down after a few weeks, but be prepared to wear some stretchy pants for a while.

I got mine over two years ago and despite the implants weighing about 2 pounds I now weigh less. I hardly even ate right after the surgery and had to force myself to eat with my meds. I didn't weigh myself so I don't know how much fluid I retained at first though.

Lacy, I might end up selling my melanotan because I'm not going to take it for a while due to the fact that it darkened my scars last time. Since this doctor REALLY wants to go for the peri areola incision, I want the scars to heal perfectly. Let me know if you want it, or know someone that does!

I actually lost weight - but I get sick from pain meds so I just took Tylenol. First day I had a cracker, second day I had a banana. LOL. Third day I was getting back to semi-normal. (all worth it though!!!)

Lots of water, fruits, veggies. I also did tuna with a bit of lite Ranch dressing on low-fat crackers, eggs, stuff like that.

Regardless you are going to want to eat light ~

I didn't gain weight during the downtime(I sat on my ass eating like a pig for 6 months afterward though and got fat haha). I'm so excited I can't wait! I'll go grocery shopping for you if you want so you can have easy access to healthy foods.

Btw I wouldn't start eating more protein than you do now if you're not gonna be working out. You know that myth people always talk about where they say that muscle turns into fat if you stop lifting? It's BS, it's physiologically impossible for muscle to turn into fat. But in order for people to build and maintain a lot of muscle mass they need to supply themselves with ample calories and protein, it's when they stop lifting and continue to eat like they were that they run into problems(get fat). You're not going to be exercising so you don't need extra calories and protein to fuel workouts. If I were you I'd focus on getting as many nutrients as possible within the lowest amount of calories.

Buy some bromelaine, one of the girls here turned me onto it it's a pineapple extract that helps a lot with swelling. Doctors/surgeons prescribe it in Europe.

I gained weight but its because I didnt work out for about 2 months and have not yet got back into a regular routine 8 months later. Ive only gained about 4lbs though but lost a lot of muscle mass. I would make sure you have lots of veggies and just try to get back into your gym routine as soon as your allowed and able. My skin really didnt comfortably stretch for months so going to the gym was pretty uncomfortable for the first 6 months which is part of why I never went.

I gained. About jeeze - say 15 lbs? A lot of it was bloating/constipation from the pain pills. The rest was because I didn't work out. And I was eating happy meals.

I got a little pooch on my tummy - it seemed to all go there - and I was able to work it off after about 3 months when I was cleared to jog again. Then I went to college and gained it all back (freshman 15).

Anyway - I had the areola incision too (plus lift), and although I tend to scar easily you can't see the scars now, 5 years later. It's the way to go in my books.

You get bloated from the meds, water weight and the anaesthesia. I gained about 5-7lbs for the first week. After that I was still up about 2-3 lbs and remained from 100lbs to 103 lbs now 4 months after surgury.

They gave me 5 days worth of neasua pills and a strong pill and shot right before surgury! I did not feel sick at all after my BA. I could eat anything, I had mashed potatoes and a muffin 6 hours after mine. If you arent worried about the weight, then dont stress over it. Eat and drink lots pineapples and pineapple juice!
